It takes five minutes, but I'm able to see once the dust clears out. It was sheer luck that none of the debris fell on us.

"Blake?" I say into my radio. Nothing. Come on! Why does this happen all the time? "TK? Blake? Trav?" I say.

"Are we gonna die?" Ava asks, crying.

"No, no, honey. We'll be alright, don't worry." I assure her.

"But we're trapped. There's no way out." Adam points out.

"Stay here. Don't move." I tell the kids. They both nod. I look around, inspecting the walls. I need to find a weak spot, but I also need to make sure that if I break that part down, the house doesn't collapse again.

After about ten minutes of searching, I finally find a probable spot. It's getting a bit harder for me to breathe, so I can only imagine how the kids are doing.

"Ya'll guys good?" I ask as I start creating a hole in the North side.

"It's getting hard to breathe." Adam says.

"It's okay, hang on, alright. I'm almost done. We'll be out in no time."

I can almost imagine Blake and TK going crazy right now, and that makes me work faster. I finally make a hole big enough for us to fit through, but there's still a lot more digging I need to do. I take my turnout coat off.

"Adam, Ava, we need to go through that hole, but I'll need to keep digging. I need you two to follow me. Use this as a blanket and cover yourselves as you crawl behind me so that even if something falls on you, you'll be safe." I tell them. I hand Adam the coat so he can cover himself and his sister. I look at Adam. "If anything happens to me, keep crawling, okay?" I say.

Adam nods. "Okay."

I give them a smile before turning around and crawling into the hole I created. I hear them following me. I made the hole wide enough so that they will fit side-by-side. I keep crawling, and keep digging for some more time until I see daylight. I finally relax. Oh, thank god.

"TK." I shout. "Blake? Guys, you there?" I shout. I can hear the commotion outside, but I'm not sure if they heard me. "TK." I shout again.

"Lia!" I hear Tara's voice.

"T!"

"Oh my god!" Tara exclaims before shouting to TK. "Cap, Lia's okay."

"My kids!" Tim shouts.

"Don't worry Tim, your kids are right here." I say.

"Lia!" I hear TK's voice.

"Hey." I shout as I gesture for Adam and Ava forward. I move so they can get out first, just in case something happens. "A little help here please guys." I say as the kids climb up. The debris above us starts getting cleared up as the guys start moving it away so we can get out. "Here, take her." I say, lifting Ava up to Miles. Miles takes Ava out of my arms. I hand Adam to Travis before climbing out myself.

"Oh, thank god you're okay." TK says, giving me a hug.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I ask.

"We were worried."

That's when I realize that my very caring boyfriend is nowhere to be found.

"Where's Blake?" I ask TK.

"Shit." TK curses. "Blake, we got Lia, she's fine." TK says into his radio.

"TK, what's going on?" I ask.

"When the house collapsed, Blake went in."

"No, no, no, no." I knew this was going to happen.

"Really Cap?" Blake's voice comes through the radio.

I sigh in relief at the sound of his voice.

"I'm right here Blake, I'm okay." I say.

"Lia, I was so-"

Just then, the ground starts to shake.

"Aftershock!" someone shouts.

A few moments later, the shaking stops.

"Blake, are you-" I start, but before I could finish my sentence, the house collapses again. "BLAKE!"
