Parkersburg West Virginia, Friday 17th

Both Virginian brothers stood facing new problems every day, but perhaps today was the day they finally did something. For the past year their people have been relying on the 120,360 active duty soldiers to protect their borders. While trade relations were the only way the people of West Virginia and Virginia are able to get food every day. Yet now over 1/8 of their soldiers have either died or gone missing. New York is no longer able to keep ties with Virginia because of some tense relations with California.

"Virginia.. What are we going to do?.." 

West Virginia looked beyond his border worried that in a few days they would run out of ammunition and food for their people. Virginia looked up from his work.

"We'll.. Just have to ask someone for help.. Maybe get an ally"

West Virginia turned to his brother

"Who are we even going to ask" "Who's gonna help us"

Virginia paused contemplating his next words before he sighed

"Ok I didn't know how to tell you this but-" 

"Tell me what?"

"I-i-"

"Virginia if you have a plan, hell even an idea, just tell me"

"Alright fine.." "A few days ago I visited someone to see if they'd help us"

"Well who is it?"

Virginia once again paused

"..North Carolina"

".... You can't be serious"

Virginia looked up and walked over to West

"Unfortunately it was the only option we had"

"Oh bullshit"

"Watch your mouth-"

"No! Bro there are other factions out there why did you have to side with Carolina!"

"West you know why!"

"No I don't!? You didn't even bother to ask me my opinion!!?"

West Virginia put his hands through his hair and heavily sighs

"If I asked your opinion nothing would've been negotiated correctly"

"So that's what you think of me as, a nuisance!"

"What!? That's not what I think of you at all!"

"If you even bothered to think of me, you would've known that I trust Ohio more than North Carolina"

"It's our best option for surviving the upcoming tides of new zombies" 

"How did you know.."

"It doesn't matter how I knew, it matters that she'll be able to help us withstand it"

"Are you serious!? Have you seen what she's done?!" "Maryland is gone because she wanted the capital to herself!"

"...."

West Virginia spun around 

"...West I-i"

"God it's just like the fucking Civil War all over again.."

Virginia laughed to himself 

"That war was anything but civil"

"Yeah.."

Both brothers sat in silence staring out across the border of West Virginia. Morning had just dawned upon them and the sunrise was astonishing. Virginia turned to his younger brother by which whom was captivated by the landscape his own home. One of the few last standing forests in America resigned right here, in West Virginia.

"So the Midwest Union huh?"

West Virginia turned to Virginia

"Y-yeah.. Indy told me they're always willing to help anyone in the East coast, except North Carolina of course"

"Hmm.. More than likely because of the fact that all the factions are primarily located here"

Virginia turned his head towards West Virginia

".. Are you sure the have enough supplies for all our soldiers.. And people"

"I highly doubt they wouldn't"

Virginia grinned

Tomorrow's gonna be a long day..

He thought to himself

Winchester Virginia, Saturday 18th

North Carolina approached the large building after slamming the car door shut. Knowing just about every part of the place, she easily found what she'd been looking for.

Virginia better have a damn good reason for interrupting me during the middle of a very important "session"

"Alright Virginia what did you need?" 

Virginia got up from his desk and faced North Carolina

"Well I'm sorry to say this but, I can't go through will the agreement.."

North Carolina went silent

"... Excuse me?"

"I said I'm done.."

"You can't do that, we had a deal" 

"I never even signed any legal fees or papers.. Let alone have a deal"

North Carolina paused and glared harshly at Virginia before continuing to scream

"What about your brother! Have you forgotten about him!?"

"Actually he's the one who suggested I do this"

North Carolina pulled Virginia close before saying.

"You'll pay for this.. Consider yourself dead"

She let go of Virginia

"Yeah have fun with that"

As Virginia started to fix his tie, the entire Midwest Union entered the room.

(Ok I'll only do this to make it easier)

Texas: "I highly suggest you do nothing and keep to yourself"

Indiana: "Agreed, you mess with him you deal with us"

Ohio: "That includes West Virginia"

Illinois: "And do watch what you say.."

Missouri: "..."

North Carolina: "You.. You sided with them!"

Missouri: "God just leave already.."

North Carolina: "Your all dead... I'll make sure your entire union is wiped from this planet!!"

Ohio: "Leave" he spoke in an intimidating voice

(Ok I'm done)

Carolina held back the urge to get out a weapon and whack Ohio with it. So instead North Carolina trudged out of the office knocking down a coat hanger in the process. Ohio watched her as she left. Texas turned towards Virginia and held out his hand with a pleasing smile.

"Welcome aboard" 

Virginia shuffled over to Texas and shook his hand whilst retuning the smile. Indiana darted up to Virginia ecstatically.

"Sweet! I always wanted to talk with you! I just never had time.. heh"

Illinois facepalmed  

"Indiana your horrible at introductions"

"That wasn't an introduction!!"

Virginia chuckled to himself before he walked out. Everyone else follows just a few steps behind. 

- Small time skip to them walking down a hall -

(Once again)

Missouri: "Do any of you guys happen to know why North Carolina was acting like that.?"

Illinois: "I don't know man, maybe she's finally lost it"

Texas: "I'd say.."

Ohio: "Agreed"

Virginia: "S-she.."

Texas: "What is it?"

Virginia attempts to hold back tears as he paced forward

Virginia: "Her brother.. He went missing about a month ago..."

Everyone went silent

Ohio put his knuckle to his lips. Illinois placed his hand on his hip and ran the other one through his hair.

Virginia: "And with everything going on-" "was practically garenteed that she'd lose it"

Indiana: "Guys we gotta find him"

Missouri: "Where the hell would we start looking"

Ohio: "I got an idea.."
