Questions

So, next chapter here.
Alexander Bay

Alexander and Yela were in Yela's private cabin on the Pride. He was sitting on the bed and Yela had parked herself at the wall.

Alexander crossed my arms, "Happy now! The doc said I'm alright."

Yela looked uneasy even though he could have been wrong, it was hard to read most Tugruta's faces and secrecy was Yela's profession. How Maxwell managed to read her like an open book would remain a mystery to him.

Two days had passed since the battle and Max had decided to land the Pride on the planet's surface to make repairs.

"You are right. I'm sorry." Yela rubbed her eyes with her fists and suddenly looked exhausted.

Smiling softly Alex held out both of his hands which she gingerly accepted. Then he pulled her over onto his lap and wrapped his arms tightly around her Torso. "It's fine Yela." She rested her forehead against his shoulder.

"Yeah sure, it's just been really busy up on the bridge." Yale sighed. "So...." Alex started.

"Hmm?" She closed her eyes and relaxed in my embrace.

"I've been thinking lately about starting a family."

Yela opened one of her deep blue eyes and looked up at him. "Are we having the discussion that I think we are having?"

Alexander shrugged. "Yeah, kinda."

Yela laughed. "I would be lying if I told you I haven't been thinking about the same thing but you would need to get a stationary office job if you want to start a family with me. I will also need to restructure my career. I will not allow our children to grow up without their parents."

Her hard gaze seemed to look right through her husband. "Deal, I'll get a desk job and we will start a family. I will ask Maxwell to help me get reassigned when things quiet down a bit. It turns out that my little brother has the chancellor on speed dial. I think they might be secret pen pals."

She smiled and pecked her husband on the lips. "Deal." The Tugruta straddled him and wrapped her arms around his neck. Then she kissed him.

Just as Alex started asking himself how best to get her clothes off Yela's communicator interrupted them and started beeping. The young woman cursed and broke the kiss. Then she pressed her finger to her lips and took the call.

"Agent Bay here." Alex made a face at her and let my hands slide down to her waist. "Hello Agent, Lieutenant Foster here. Admiral Bay requests you to report to the bridge." Alex frantically shook his head. "When? I am in a meeting with General Alex right now. Tell the Admiral to call me himself if it's important." Then she ended the call and shuddered as Alex grabbed the tips of her Lekku.

"Thanks," he whispered. "Hey, I haven't slept in forty-eight hours. I'm allowed to have the bad mood."

Yela leaned down and was just about to kiss her husband when her communicator interrupted then again. Alexander pouted at her. Yela rolled her eyes and took the call.

"Yes?" she asked.

"Admiral Bay here."

Yela sighed. "Agent Bay on the line. Listen, Max. I haven't slept in forty-eight hours and I've been hoping to get in a full cycle here. Can whatever's up waiting until tomorrow morning?"

"I thought you were in a meeting," Alexander could hear the amusement in his brother's voice. "But okay. I expect to see you in my office in two shifts. Admiral Bay out."

The call ended.

"Now it's only us left," she noticed and smiled down at him.

"I've been waiting for this a while." She whispered.

Maxwell Bay

After his meeting with Yela, the days started passing quickly. Repairs were undergoing at full speed.

The investigations, however, were posing a bigger problem, even with Yela's specific set of skills to help him. They had analyzed the battle, the fact that the enemies jumped in so close that Maxwell couldn't even scramble his air wing. If Nina hadn't reacted so fast and brought the shields online those separatists frigates would have caused much more damage to his ship.

Lieutenant Foster was definitely facing a promotion for saving the ship.

Both Max and Yela had come to the conclusion that someone had told the separatists exactly were they were so Maxwell had ordered Yela and a troop of clones to scavenge one of the destroyed separatist's ships for their computer core.

He really wanted to go through their comm records.

Yela was supposed to report to his cabin any minute for her daily report. He checked the clock just as the doorbell to the cabin rang.

"It's open Yela."

He could sense Yela's familiar presence on the other side of the door. The door slid open and the young agent stepped in. Yela closed the door behind her and sat down in an armchair on the opposite side of the table. "So, what is going on?"

Yela rested her boots on top of the table and folded her hands. "So, we found your computer core and your technicians are currently trying to bring it on board." Yela looked rather pleased with herself but then turned serious and Max noticed she was playing with her Lekku.

"I have a much more serious matter to address."

The Admiral sighed, he didn't need any more bad news.

"You are going to promote my husband."

Surprised, Maxwell hesitated for a second. "Pardon me?"

Yela, however, seemed to have more to say. "And if you don't I will be sure to make your life inconvenient."

Max rubbed my temples. "Let me guess this straight. You, little Agent Yela Bay are playing the sister in law card to blackmail me the four Fleet Admiral? "

Yela studied her fingernails. "Yep, that sounds about right." Max sighed slightly exasperated. This hadn't been the strangest thing that happened over the last few days.

"May I ask why you are blackmailing me?" Yela gave her brother in law a sweet smile showing off her sharp Canine teeth.

"You see, my husband and I have been talking and he discreetly informed me that he wouldn't mind it if I started pushing out babies. Basically, we need a bigger flat and to get that he needs a pay raise."

Max leaned back in his chair. "Promotion...is that all?"

Yela stayed silent for a moment. "There might be another small thing."

Maxwell raised an eyebrow, "Go ahead."

"I want you to arrange a transfer for my husband. Seeing as we are starting a family we decided that it would be appropriate for him to get a safe desk job."

She looked at him with her big blue eyes. "Okay, you are getting your promotion. I will call a few friends back on Coruscant when we are back and check if there is a position open somewhere. Happy now you little extortionists."

Yela smiled, "Very?"

I got up and Yela followed my example. "Your lucky I don't just lock you up for this."

"Ahh relax," Yela walked around the table, gave her chosen and involuntary big brother figure a hug and then ruffled his hair.

"Back on Coruscant, I know a few girls in the agency that would like to meet you in person. If you behave I'll arrange a date."

Max gave her a stern look and imagined throwing her in a cell. Yela seemed to sense that she had overplayed her cards and took a step back.

"Ahm I'll be going then," Maxwell straightened his uniform and folded his hands behind my back.

"That would be best before I come to my senses and call someone to lock you away." Yela gave him a sweet smile.

"I promise you won't regret this." Yela spun around and hurried to the door and left the room.

I know there isn't much going on. I've really appreciated some criticism. Keep in mind that this story is kind of a build-up story for the second one that I am currently writing. Familiar characters will turn up soon. So during the end of this book.

Ahsoka, for instance, will be the main character in book 2.

Winter Wolf & Lengendary95 over and out.
