Synopsis

Most people sit tight and ride the rollercoaster that is life. It looks like yours is stuck upside on a loop so you crawled out and now it's up to you to decide how things go from here. People always take you for granted ─ reckless, arrogant, stupid. They see the word 'delinquent' and start to run, so you have always decided to just let it be. Let people run away from you. Not that you would let them even get close enough to see beyond you, or whatever/whoever you claimed to be.

You think most of the people at Nekoma High are a bunch of frauds and that you are way, way better despite ranking at #197 out of 200 students in the mid-terms. Sadly, not everyone thinks so highly of you. Perhaps it's because you're a horror-movie junkie. Or maybe it's because you skip class. Or maybe, just maybe, it's because your dad is a murderer. A year of court-mandated community service and therapy tells you so. And one day, while hanging out with your new "squad" of best-friends ─ the octogenarians at the nursing home you serve ─ you spot volleyball expert Kuroo Tetsurou.

He's one step closer to knowing the real you, which is why it's now you who is running away from people.

Author's Notes

          I was reminiscing on my youth ─ my 90 drafts that I have abandoned like my pets on MovieStarPlanet ─ and was reminded of that time I tried to write a Kuroo fic. If you guys still remember it, I'm shocked... [Cringes out of existence because it was very bad]. Anyway, I kind of got back into the groove now? I'm getting tired of writing JJK stuff since I have no time to watch the anime/manga for my drafts [but I have all the time in the world on Discord] so I was like, why not go back to Haikyuu and write a fic for that? I'm already trying to rewrite my Oikawa Character Study fic so I decided on Kuroo, besides at least when I want to read a HQ fic where he isn't some fuckboy, I can come here for a peace of mind.

          This might turn into one of those tutoring trope fics but I don't care because I like that... but also Fun fact: this book is set in the same universe as Starboy, idk how that will work out but it's meant to be a series or something. This book is also largely inspired by two of my favourite kdramas: Penthouse and Moment of Eighteen.

          Anyway, typical stuff here. Kuroo is not going to call you "kitten", if you're really looking for some furry attention I'd guide you to the nearest Animal Sanctuary/Police Station. No, he's not "railing" you tonight. You are 13, go reread Harry Potter and cry over Cedric's death. Kuroo can't hear your comments but sadly I can so hold back your TikTok references or else hitting the "WOAH" means flying off a cliff head-first.
