Chapter 59
"Papa, will you stay here and chat with Kirstie? I'm going to have a talk with mom." Avi says.
"Alright, son. Just go easy on her, okay?" Michael chuckles.
"Why don't I show you the lake." Kirstie smiles. "Do you like to fish?"
"Girl, fishing is my weakness." Michael laughs.
"We're going to be best friends then." Chris laughs.
"Let me go change clothes and then I'll show you around." Kirstie says.
"Mom? Come with me and I'll show you your room." Avi says as he takes his mother by the hand.
Avi gives Tim, Adam, and Austin an apologetic smile as he leads his mother into the house.
"Guys, I apologize for Shelley. Sometimes it's hard for her to let go of things." Michael says once he was alone with the rest of the guys.
"No need for that, Michael." Tim smiles. "But she does need to realize that sh*t happens."
Michael laughs loudly and shakes his head. He had forgotten how Tim had a way with words.
"Avi and I couldn't be happier the way things are. He's very much in love with Kirstie and I'm in love with Adam." Tim says.
"As long as both of you are happy, that's all that matters." Michael smiles.
"Michael? You ready?" Kirstie says coming out of the house.
"Yep." He answers getting up from his chair.

"This place is beautiful." Shelley says as Avi shows her the lodge. "Tim bought this place?" Just how rich is he?"
"No one actually knows." Avi chuckles. "Rich enough that he takes care of all of us. None of us has regular jobs, except for Eddie and Nate."
Avi opens up the double doors to a beautiful guest room.
"Oh, my heavens." Shelley says as she walks into the room. "This is a guest room? It looks like a master's."
"All the rooms are big like this one." Avi says closing the door. "Uh, mom? We need to talk."
"Sure, honey. About what?" She asks as she looks out the window.
"About what just happened down at the pool." Avi says as he sits down on the bed. "You were making everyone very uncomfortable."
"I was? How?" She asks sitting down beside him.
"First, you practically ignored Kirstie. She feels that you don't like her. Then you were bringing up mine and Tim's past relationship." Avi says. "It was very uncomfortable."
"I didn't mean to ignore her but we've talked on the phone several times. She's a very sweet young lady." Shelley says. "But I haven't seen Tim in years. He's still very handsome. Don't you think?"
"Mom. Please stop." Avi says, shaking his head. "I know you had your heart set on me and Tim getting married. But it just wasn't meant to be."
"You can't tell me that you don't still have feelings for him." Shelley says.
"Mine and Tim's relationship is very hard to explain. We love each other very much. Just not in the same manner that we used too. I'd be lost without Tim in my life. He's my best friend. Yeah, I may flirt with him at times but it's all in fun. It's just really hard to explain, mom. We have a very special relationship. But Kirstie is the one that I truly love and want to spend the rest of my life with. I just wish you could be happy for me. For us." Avi says, taking his mom by the hand.
"Baby, all a mother wants for her children is for them to be happy." Shelley says, gently squeezing Avi's hand.
"I am happy, mom. Kirstie makes me happy." Avi says.
"She's very pretty." Shelley smiles.
"That she is." Avi smiles. "I fell in love with her the minute I laid eyes on her."
"Have yall made any plans for the wedding?" Shelley asks as she brushes her son's hair back.
"Not really. Just that Esther will be Kirstie's bride's maid and Tim is my best man." Avi shrugs.
"That's it?" Shelley asks and Avi answers with a nod. "Well, I can see why. She needs help and she can't get it living with a bunch of men. Looks like me and my future daughter-in-law has got a lot of planning to do while I'm here."
"Thanks, mom. I love you." Avi smiles.
"I love you, Sweetie." Shelley smiles as she hugs her son.

Kirstie and Michael were coming through the front door laughing as Avi and Shelley were coming down the stairs.
"Avi, your dad taught me how to skip rocks." Kirstie laughs.
"Bet you can't do it as well as me though." Avi laughs, slipping his arm around her waist.
"I don't know about that, Avriel. She's a natural." Michael laughs.
The other guys came walking in from the living room. All had taken showers and had changed clothes.
"I thought it would be a nice idea to carry you all out to eat." Tim says.
"Why? Did you hear my stomach growl?" Shelley giggles.
"No, if it did, I couldn't hear it over Adam's stomach growling." Tim chuckles.
"Well, it's been a while since lunch." Adam pouts.
"I just happen to know of a great little diner in town." Nate says with a smile.
"It's the ONLY diner in town." Chris adds with a chuckle.
"Let's go." Michael smiles. "It's been a while since Shelley and I have eaten also."
Michael and Shelley rode with Avi and Kirstie in Kirstie's car following Tim and Adam in Tim's car with Adam driving since Tim was still wearing the boot on his ankle. Eddie and Esther were riding with them. Chance and Austin were riding with Chris and Nate following the Kaplan's.
"Eddie, have yall given any thought about moving here?" Tim asks, glancing into the back seat at his friend.
"Well, yeah, actually we have." Eddie smiles, looking around at Esther.
"And?" Tim asks with a raised brow.
"We thought we would check out the town here to see if anything looked promising." Eddie smiles.
"That's awesome and as a matter of fact, Nate says there is a bar in town that might be for sale. It was closed due to a divorce type situation, I think." Tim comments.
"That would help out a lot. We wouldn't have to renovate anything." Esther says with a grin.
"So, about this Nate fellow. Has he and Chris hooked up?" Eddie asks.
"Yeah, you might say that." Adam laughs.
"I didn't even know Chris was gay." Esther says as she looks out his window.
"None of us did." Tim chuckles. "It came as a complete surprise. Nate seems like a pretty good guy, though."
"Does he know all your deep dark secrets?" Eddie says with a smirk.
"Unfortunately, yeah, some of them anyway. But I think he can be trusted." Tim answers.
They arrive at the diner and enjoy a very delicious meal. After the dishes were taken away, drinks were ordered and a relaxing conversation began.
Michael, Chris, Chance, and Austin started planning on going fishing the next morning. Tim and Adam were making plans on carrying Eddie to check out the bar that Nate had told them about. Nate, unfortunately, had classes to attend.
"So, with all the guys gone, I guess we can have a girls' day out." Esther suggests.
"I have an idea." Shelley smiles.
"What's your idea?" Kirstie asks.
"Don't you have a wedding to plan for?" Shelley smiles. "Esther and I are here to help."
