Chapter 52
Tim was working alone in his room, going over some bank statements. Adam had gone to town with Kirstie to do some shopping.
"Yeah?" He answers the soft knock at his door.
"Whatcha doing?" A smiling Avi asks as he waltzes in.
"Just checking a few things, whatcha need?" Tim asks as he works on his laptop.
"If you're not extreeeemely busy, could you go somewhere with me?" Avi asks giving Tim puppy dog eyes.
Tim glances up at him over his glasses and rolls his eyes and smiles.
"Where?" He asks, cutting off the computer and taking off his glasses.
"Well, I've been kinda scouting out places for mine and Kirst's wedding and I think I found the perfect spot. But I wanted a second opinion before I show it to her." Avi says.
"Okay, no problem." Tim shrugs.
"Good. We'll have to take a four-wheeler." Avi nods.
"Question." Tim says with a raised brow.
"What?" Avi asks.
"Do you plan on your guests riding four-wheelers to your wedding?" Tim asks.
"Uh, no." Avi laughs. "I've got that all planned. I'm gonna have a wagon decorated really pretty pulled by a team of horses."
"That sounds cool." Tim smiles.
"Now, we need to go before Kirstie gets back." Avi says.
"Alright." Tim says, following him out of the bedroom.
"Y'all heading out?" Chance asks from the den, where he and Austin were cuddled watching a movie.
"Yeah, Avi wants to show me something so if Adam gets home before I do just tell him that I'll be home soon. My phone is on the charger so I won't have it with me." Tim says.
Chance gives him a thumbs up and turns back to the movie.
Tim and Avi hop on a couple of four-wheelers and head out. Tim follows Avi about two miles from the lodge.
"It's right up here." Avi yells.
Soon they pull into a beautiful pasture surrounded by a grove of pine trees.
"So? What do you think?" Avi says, getting off of his ride.
"Not bad." Tim nods. "It's actually very pretty."
"See. Here's what I got planned." Avi says as they begin to walk out in the pasture. "We'll have a big canopy set up with a bunch of chairs.
Tim takes a step and they both hear a crack. They quickly glance at each other just as the ground beneath them gives way. Both men let out a scream as they fall into an old abandoned well.
Tim, being the heaviest of the two, falls first landing hard on his feet twisting his left ankle and falling into about four inches of muddy water. Screaming out in pain, he grabs for his ankle.
Avi manages to hang on to a root for a few seconds until the root breaks. He falls hitting his head on the way down, knocking himself out.
Tim covers his head as mud and rocks fall on him from Avi's fall. He hears Avi land a few feet from him.
His lifeless body falls next to Tim in the muddy water.
"Avi?" Tim calls out. His eyes trying to adjust to the darkness of the well. He reaches out feeling around in the muddy water near him. "AVI!?"
His heart races as he finally touches Avi's limp arm. Tim crawls over to him, his ankle wretched in pain.
"Avi? Talk to me." He says, pulling the unconscious man up into his arm. "Don't do this again, d*mnit. Avi!!" He shouts as he brushes Avi's muddy hair out of his face.
"Tim?" Avi moans. Tim breathes a sigh of relief.
"Hey, Sweetness. You scared the hell out of me." Tim says hugging Avi closer.
"What in the hell happened? Where are we?" Avi asks as he tries to sit up but groans from the pain.
"No, you don't need to sit up, just rest a moment." Tim says. "Apparently we found an abandoned well that had been covered up and the grass grew over it."
"We found it the hard way." Avi says rubbing the huge bump on his head. "Are you alright?"
"I hurt my ankle when I landed." Tim says.
"Is it broken?" Avi asks.
"I don't know, all I know is it hurts like hell." Tim answers, looking up toward the opening of the well.
"My head hurts." Avi whines laying his head on Tim's chest. "And it's cold down here."
"Definitely." Tim agrees, closing his eyes and biting his lip from the pain throbbing in his ankle.
"Guess we won't be using this spot for the wedding." Avi says, trying to lighten the mood.
"Oh, you think?" Tim manages to chuckle.
"What are we going to do, Tim? No one knows where we are." Avi says looking up at Tim's mud covered face.
"We just have to wait. They'll come looking for us when we don't come home." Tim says. "We just need to try to stay as warm as we can."
"That'll be hard considering this water is ice cold." Avi says. "You're filthy by the way."
"Well, No sh*t, Sherlock." Tim chuckles.

Adam and Kirstie had returned home a little while after Tim and Avi had left. Chance had given Adam the message from Tim, so neither were too worried. They went on about their business hanging the new clothes that they had bought for themselves and their boyfriends', up in the closet.
Worry began to set in as the storm clouds began to gather as the sun was setting.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Kirstie says walking up beside Adam, who was looking out the window.
"Me too. They should have been home by now." Adam says.
"I've tried calling Avi but it keeps going straight to his voice mail." Kirstie says.
"Tim always carries his phone with him, why in the hell did he leave it home." Adam says.
"Maybe he didn't think they'd be gone that long." Kirstie answers with a shrug.
"Bossman hasn't made it home yet?" Chance asks as he walks into the room.
"No, something must be wrong." Adam answers. "Chance, get everybody together. We gotta go find them."
"You got it." Chance says as he hurries to find the others.

Tim and Avi held on to each other, trying their hardest to keep the other warm. They were fighting sleep, afraid they would miss hearing someone calling for them. But also afraid that if they went to sleep, they would not wake up.
"Y..You think they're l..looking for us?" Avi asks, his teeth chattering from the cold.
"I kno...I know they...they are." Tim shivers. "Adam loves me and...and Kirstie loves you. They're not go...gonna let us die out here."
"Yeah, t..they'll find us. They'll s...see the four...four-Wheelers." Avi nods, cuddling closer to Tim.
"I'm just s...so sleepy." Tim mumbles.
"M..me too." Avi says.
Suddenly a loud clap of thunder startles the two men.
"Oh, F*ck." Tim says as they see lightning light up the opening of the well.
