Readers POV (2nd day of Music fest)

"Today's the day!" Veronica yelled out.

"What are you excited about?" Mike fixed his drums while sitting next to his cousin.

"Well, I'm planning on confessing today! I think she likes me too" she giggles.

"Well, yeah. Who wouldn't like you?"

"See? No one hates me."

"Yeah, right. Our juniors don't like you." the boy said underneath his breath. It was a good thing she didn't hear it or else it'd be one heck of a fight.

More and more Corp members came and it was now complete. Amber lined them up and began talking about her non-official speech.

"Alrighty! Let's get this show on the road!"

"I hope Melanie's doing good..." Lonnie was with Rina. The girls were already in Botans. They were looking around the stalls looking for something to eat.

"She kinda is though."

"Kinda?"

"Negativity here and there but it's not much. No need to worry. She's with someone safe" Lonnie looked at the girl with confusion. Rina's gaze were over the student council. Lonnie followed her gaze. She gasped, slightly pointing at Mia.

"Is she?"

"Yep."

"President sure is something... I'm gonna thank her one day." Rina nodded. Suddenly, Lyres and drums could be heard. Most of the people cleared out the way and the corps rolled in, already playing a song.

•°○a few songs later•°○

"Finally! Now that's out of the way, let's get this shindig started!" A voice shouted from the crowd as everyone began to party. The point of getting the 2 schools together is to create peace and unity between schools and so far, so good. It's been a blast!

"Hey? We're going to start soon! Where are you?!" A main vocalist/guitarist said to her phone. Her band looked at each other, not sure if they'd had to perform or not .

On the other side of the phone, there's a girl, cussing.

"Oh c'mon! Can't you get any faster! *honk* Yuna, find someone else for the mean time."

"But, Yori-"

"No buts, there has to be someone. I'll be there as soon as I can, love you"

"*sigh* love you too.."

"What now?" Their drummer said.

"I know someone perfect for the job"

"Hey, B- what the-?!" Someone pulled Mia out of the crowd. They had put a hand over her mouth as Mia bit it.

"Ow!" They retracted their hand back. Mia looked around to see they were on back stage where a band lies.

"Leo?! I mean, I don't know anyone named Leo, hehehe" The soon to be teacher looked in confusion.

"Um. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-" Mia mumbles

"It's fine, kid but what do you mean? It's me, your trainer, Melanie!"

"Wait.. Melanie?"

"The Melanie Sanchez?!"

"I'm sorry but I'm Mia, not-"

"I don't know what's going on but we need a guitarist! We don't have much time but can you help us?" Leo begged and was on his knees.

As a child, Mia could play every other instrument stored in her music room. She could sing too. What made her father the proudest was the electric guitar. He told her about being a rockstar as he was once one and encouraged her to be one. So she took lessons but it wasn't her tone. The only thing that caught Mia's melody going was the launchpad.

She looked at the pleading faces of his former trainer and his band mates and sighed.

"Alright. Just let me change."

"Good day, fellow BOTAVENS! (Botan + Jovens) Music fest isn't over yet! We've got bands, singers, guitarists, and so much more! You could perform here if you want. Show case your talents and have fun! Even the judges could perform!"

"Up next is an international band. They first performed as reckless teenagers but now they're rocking rockstars! Give it up for BloodLine!" The crowd cheers as Yuna took the mic.

Microphones standed at each side of the stage where the band mates were. Yuna and Mia had the guitar up and ready. Yuna first strum a tone.

"Have you seen Mia? I can't seem to find her" Veronica asked as the council looked around. The president almost panicked.

"I'm sure she's fine. Maybe she's getting a drink." Diana reassured the president. Bethany decided to believe her.

"That doesn't sound like Yori" Brian whispered to them.

"Puberty?"

"No. That's not Yori!"

Mia's hood went down as she sang the tone. The crowd gasps and stared in admiration.

"Wait.. is that Mia?!"Someone shouted from the crowd as Bethany and Veronica's head perked up at the mentioned name.

Wow. The girls thought. Veronica's eyes gleamed as she watched the girl singing on stage. Bethany was beyond surprised. She looked at the girl with more than admiration she has ever been.

Suddenly a girl went up the stage.

"Thank you!" Yori shouted as the crowd went wild. The band went off stage as Mia gets tackled down by Diana and her classmates. She giggled as they each get off of her.

"What a twist! BloodLine sure knew how to get stuff pumpin'! Who knew Mia could sing?" The mc yelled out as the next performers got ready.

"Next up is....."

"You could sing?!" Bethany was still in awe. She could just kiss her right now and then but..

"And play an electric guitar?!" Veronica also shrieked. She hugged the girl as Mia tried not to feel uncomfortable. Bethany snapped out of her thoughts as she looked at them. A tint of jealousy was bubbling inside her.

Bethany waited for Veronica to release her junior. Once Mia got out of her embrace, Mia made an excuse.

"Ah. I really need to go to the restroom. Beth, have you seen my bag?" Bethany was instantly on board and began to act on.

"I do actually, follow me"

"See you later then!" Veronica shouted as she replays the moment Mia singing, stuck in a little world of hers...

The girls went back to the band before Bethany could do anything.

"See? I told you she's good." Leo grinned as he gave them some bottled water.

"Well duh! She's a Sanchez. She's born with talent" Yuna exclaimed as she sat in between Yori's legs.

"You're not gonna replace me with her are you~?" Yuna spat out her drink as she looked at her girlfriend in disbelief.

"I'm not." A voice said. The band turned their heads to see Mia and Bethany on their door.

"Melanie! You were good. Spot on, actually" their drummer gushed.

"Thank you but please don't call me that..."

"Well why not? And why are they calling you 'Mia'? What are- This.. this is about 2 years ago, isn't it?" Leo stood and firmly but gently held her shoulders. The senior looked incredibly concerned but she knew her boundaries.

"Is this why you cut everyone off? You had me worried since a year ago and.. you look different, Mel-"

"Then why could you recognize me? I changed everything. I.. I-" Mia stood back and turned her back on them.

"Just.. just don't tell anyone about 'Melanie' being here in the first place." And with that, she left with Bethany trailing behind her.

"I haven't seen you on stage yet. When will you perform?" Mia's demeanor quickly changed as she was with Bethany.

"I'll be on after a few songs.. You were great. I didn't know you could play the guitar. You sang so good just now!"

The girls walked through the halls as Mia lead the way.

"Hm. I prefer your singing though.."

"But-"

"Beth, please..."

"..."

They stopped when they saw the familiar janitors door.

"Let's just do a hug this time."

"Okay.."

"President! President! President!" The crowds cheered as Bethany went on stage. Mia was also one of them, cheering her along.

Suddenly, someone tapped the junior's shoulder.

She showed her a smile that Melanie used to show her and only her. Her nickname rang in her head. As in cue, a picture of Melanie doing the exact same smile appeared from her head.

The girl chocked on her own saliva as tears ran down from her cheeks. Veronica repeated her words and her eyes widened. She picked herself from the breakdown. Mia was about to go back but...

Her words rang more as a church bell. Tears were now streaming down the junior's face as realization hit her. She kneeled down the pavement as Veronica catches up.

"You're adorable " the voices in her head stopped as she could hear a different one.

A sudden rush of adrenaline came to Mia as she quickly stood up. She genuinely hugged Veronica.

"Thank you" she whispered and the Joven girl nodded.

"Now, go get your girl" and with that, the junior descended into the school halls. The student stood there, feeling another heartbreak.

I knew it from the start. The signs were there. How she knew too much about the corps. I was stupid and ignored them. The Melanie I used to know has changed once again. I was one of the people who made her into Mia, shaping her into someone different and yet, I fell hard for that facade. I'm sorry for that... Love is hard.

The president was looking for them. Feeling agitated and hopeless.

*sigh* she didn't get to hear much of the song. Why did Veronica- No Beth. Stop. Maybe it was for a good reason. Yeah. Don't worry. There would be plenty of chances in the future. Who am I kidding, this is Melanie we're talking about...

Suddenly, she received a text message.

'Meet me at the council room. I need to talk about something'

It was from Mia. The president began walking up the stairs and went in the room, waiting for the girl.

No more running away. I was this blind to see that Bethany was the one all along. I was blinded with ignorance. I can't keep doing this...She loves me.. She loves me as Melanie! The real me!

"Beth! *pant* you're here! *pant*" the girl opened the door still panting. She locks the door and closes the curtains

"Well, yeah. You did say so.. Is everything alright?" her attitude was somewhat down but her concern was more visible.

The junior managed to get her breathing back to normal.

"Bethany, I love you, too" right after the girl confessed, she smashed their lips together once again. This kiss was different than the others.. it was Mia who pulled in first than Bethany. It now has more emotion and responsive. Tears were pouring from Bethany's eyes as they held each other.

S-she loves me back!

"I'm so so sorry I took a while. You were suffering and I didn't see that. I was blind enough to see that my love would be infront of me all along. I love you, Bethany" this time it was Mia who held the other one, slightly crying as well.

"I love you, too"
