Chapter 14
Warning: just homophobes being themselves. Also some child abuse- I won't go into detail though.
Reader's POV
"You're pathetic."
"what?"
"I was wrong. Why would I love someone like you?"
"B-bethany?"
"You're gay? Ew. Get away"
"Diana, what are you-"
"I told you that girl's not normal."
"Please don't listen to her-"
"Yeah"
"It was all doing great until you decided to like women. How disgusting."
"Father, I-"
"You shouldn't have join the council. You're a bothersome."
"She left because of you! It's your fault!"
"No! I please-"
"She was kicked out by her own father. She deserves it."
"Shut up!"
"HAHAHAHA. Not even her own parents want her."
"Stop. Please..."
"I regret meeting you"
-----------------------------------------
"Wait! Please don't go!"
Mia woke up with tears flowing down her cheeks.
I-it felt so real. I- no... what time is it? 2:45 am. Are they tossing me aside? What if they're just pretending? What if Bethany doesn't really like me? She's just doing that because I'm pathetic! I don't need them. No- I don't need anyone. But it still hurts. Please, just don't leave me-
"Fuck-!"
"Melanie? You okay there?" Kathy knocked on the door. Melanie quickly wiped her tears and put on a smile. Her cousin went inside of her room and sat on her bed.
"Yeah..."
"Can't sleep? Why don't you join me for midnight snacks?" She gushed and waved chips infront of her.
"Not hungry. I'll just try to go back to sleep. I have class tomorrow." The junior turned to the other side of the bed. As soon as she closed her eyes, images from nightmare flashed her mind. A hand made it's way to the junior's shoulder. She's shaking.
The girl puts down the food and began getting comfortable on her cousins bed.
"Goodnight, Mel. Love you" the junior widened her eyes as soon as she heard that four letter world. Her heart tightened while tears gushed down from her eyes. It's been years since she heard that from family.
The girl turned over to her cousins side, struggling to keep her sobbing down. She put an arm over her teary eyes. Kathy said nothing but draped an arm over her younger cousin in attempting to hug her. The junior gave in and started to full on sobbing in her cousins arms.
Tsk. Uncle sure knows how to be a great dad.
--------------------------------------
"Good morning, Mel!" Koby gleamed while making more stacks of waffles for the cousins to eat. The junior was done preparing for school and the last thing to do is eat breakfast. A door behind the junior silently opened then closed. Kathy suddenly snuck up on her cousin.
"Good morning, my little cous! How's it hanging?" She hugged the girl from behind, almost choking her.
"God. We just slept together. You know what's up" The girl groaned and untangled themselves.
"You two slept early yesterday. You didn't get to explain anything to me"
"Well, that's because we were tired from our flight. The time zones and all"
"We got a call from your school saying, 'we're the mystery judges' for that fest you're doing." Koby proudly stated as if it was him who won a competition.
"Ah- what?! If that so, you shouldn't have told me! Everyone is going to perform and I'm one of them"
"Then, our work here is done. I'll just announce you the winner." They sat down on table. A stack of waffles were on the center and a few condiments were surrounding it.
"Please no-"
"That's against the rules, Kob"
"Eh. No one performs better than a Sanchez. We've got your father for..." he paused seeming to look at Mia's direction.
"Proof-" he finished. It was now an awkward silence. Kathy lunged an arm to her twin.
"Ow! ..... ahaha. It's your birthday next week, right?" He soothed while his twin glared at him. The junior stood up and drank coffee to wash it all done. She put her dirty dishes in the sink.
"Yeah, nothing special. I'mma go now. See you later." As soon as she was out the door. The silence resumed from earlier as they ate their breakfast.
"I'm bringing Melanie to Hollywood." The girl brought up as Koby almost chocked on his waffle.
"Are you insane? We don't have the right to do-"
"We can't just sit here and do nothing, Kob. We're her cousins. We're like her older siblings. We're adults. Can't we at least do something? She's clearly not happy here." Kathy defended as she could see her brother getting serious.
"If you were to that. You don't have 'ownership' on Melanie. Besides, the kid would be 18 next year. She has the right to go wherever she wants..."
"Look, I get that you're really concerned about her but so am I. She's been independent so I know everything's going to be okay" her brother soothed, dead serious.
"Boi. She's being independent too much. That girl has been-"
"We can't make decisions on this. Mel has her own thoughts and decisions too. The best way to help her right now is having family around right? We'll just step in if things go wrong." The girl nodded and hoped for the best.
"By the way, was she really a fast eater?"
"Depends on the food"
------------------------------------------
Mia's POV
They won't actually do that... Will they? Nononono. It was fine yesterday- But what if they're pretending? WHAT IF Bethany's pretending? N-no. They won't, will they? It feels so real. Their voices. Their faces. Its circling around my head. Please! St- NO. I deserve this. It'll be fine. This is fine...
"D-dad! S-stop! Please. It hurts!"
------------
"No, Bethany. Please stay-"
"You're pathetic"
"Mia"
"Miiiaaa"
"Mia?"
"Mia!"
"Huh?! What?" The girl snapped out of her trance as a classmate behind her, tapped her shoulder.
"First period is about to start." He reminded and flipped through his books.
"Ok. Thanks.." the girl mumbled. Class starts as soon as the professor went in. Diana looked at her at a distance...
-------------------------------------------
*RINGG*
"Hey, Mia-"
As soon as the bell rang, Mia quickly dashed out of the room, leaving a confused Diana. Her classmates started opening their bento boxes... She also did hers acting like nothing happened.

"Oof!" The girl bumped into someone. She could feel a masculine figure stopping her from hitting the ground.
"Hey, be careful-" Realizing it was Brian, she bid a small apology and resumed speed walking, quickly blending herself with the crowd.
"??"
●○°•Timeskip•°○●
Bethany and Mia were the first to come to the room.
I can't avoid her. She's litteraly beside me. But... just why am I avoiding them? My feet has a mind of it's own...
The whole day Mia spent on hiding in every corner and hallway whenever a student council member she'd see. Bethany was about to pass some files but Mia had tug her sleeve.
"Mia?"
"I just wanted to uhh." Think brain! I can't ask this. I'm already a bother to her!
"Never mind. It's stupid" she mumbled and began working on her share of work. The president looked back and forth between the papers in hand and Mia. She put the papers down and made Mia face her.
"Nothing's stupid, Mia.. So tell me."
*sigh*
"You'd never hate me, right?"
"Of course. I promised, didn't I?" The junior said nothing while the senior waited for a response. The girl waited but Mia couldn't get words out.
".. another nightmare.." the girl mumbled out.
"It felt so real, Bethany. Y-you and the others-"
"You guys were like h-her..." Mia trembled as images and voices flooded her mind. One by one, each of them were telling her the same thing.
"Mia, you know I love you, right?" Bethany was bold while her junior stopped listening to the voices as Bethany kept her tomato face down.
"Wha-"
Outside the room, a hand was about to go open the door and head in but Bethany began to talk, making them stop on their tracks.
"Shh. I get that you have a hard time trusting people but please know that I'm here. I wouldn't even dare a thought of hating you. I don't want to lose you. You're important to me, okay? The council, they're not the type of people who would do that. Confessing to them yesterday was a big step for you but it shows improvement. Baby steps. Take your time. " She soothes as she took her juniors hands.
The junior was stunned as tears were streaming down her cheeks. Sniffles could be heard as Bethany wiped those tears away and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"I shouldn't have doubted you or the others in the first place.... I'm sorry"
-------------------------------
The rest of the council stood in silence after they accidentally heard the girls conversation. Diana dragged the boys for a place to talk.
"So that's why she was in a hurry... Man, I shouldn't have researched in the first place.." Diana regretfully sighed, thinking about her actions. Brian shook his head in disagreement.
"I think this is okay, actually.."
"What?"
"She's traumatized obviously but now that we know, we can help her. I think that's what Bethany was saying" he added. The 2 looked at him like they've seen a ghost.
"What? You guys okay?"
"You said something that made sense-" the vice president mumbled out, not trying to offend his classmate.
"I'm not dumb, you know!" He shrieked out, grabbing Marco by the collar. A tint of redness appeared on the vice presidents face as the were now inches apart from having their lips mushed together. This is a gay moment but this is not the time!
"Anyways.." Diana pulled the boys apart. The two were now as red as blood.
"Bethany may or may not know more about her side of the story but Bethany wouldn't be always there. Just saying that we're actually here too." Brian spoke again, finally keeping in mind that they were not alone.
"I doubt that. Mia is on Bethany's mind 24/7.." Marco smirked, imagining the girls dating. Those 2 would literally be on each other if Mia reciprocates.
"Point is.. we're here to help her grow and experience what it's like to have real friends." Brian finished.
"We're not letting her experience that again." Diana gleamed and the boys nodded.
▪︎□■Meanwhile■□▪︎
"Now please smile. A smile would fit on you, my little love note~" the junior was now the tomato head while Bethany quickly covered her mouth.
"Did you just?!"
"I swear, I just blurted it out!"
"You gave me a nickname.." Mia gushed and hid her smile. Bethany snickered, seeing Mia be herself.
"Hmph. Don't act so surprised about it. Who wouldn't have a nickname for their crush" she mumbled.
"What was that?"
"Nothing" she mumbled before going back to her seat, fumbling with her hands. The junior noticed and put her head on the presidents shoulder.
"Something wrong?"
"C-can I? I just think it's just the wrong time and place to be doing that but-"
"I promised, didn't I?~" the girl copied her with a quiet and that kind of voice. Chills went to Bethanys spine as unholy thoughts flooded her head. She dismissed those thoughts as she began pinning her to the wall. A whine could be heard as a smirk came to the seniors face. With faces centimeters apart, the girls brushed their lips together.
No matter how many times I'd have to remind you, just know that you're never a burden to me...
《BEHIND THE SCENES》
"Hey, genderbend Luz looks like Marco Diaz-"
"She does.."
"Damn. Beta Amity is so.."
"They're like Diakko but tiny and gayer!"
"I'm so glad Disney did this"
"Homophobes get out of the way CAUSE' WE'RE WINNING!"
I don't further explanation is needed-
