Note.02

Can't Run From The Past.

Bryce woke up to the sound of his alarm and nearly screamed when he realized he was going to be late. He stood to his feet and dashed to get ready, throwing on a light blue button up with his skinny jeans. He threw over his coat and gloves then grabbed his bag and dashed out the door.

He wasted no time getting there and rushing through the colleges crowded hallway just to get to his class which he only had a minute to get too. Once he got there he burst through the door and panted slightly as he held his knees. Luckily most people weren't even paying attention and it saved him the embarrassment of he was completely honest with you. Bryce took a seat in the back and watched as the class slowly began to fill but there was one person missing who shouldn't have been missing.

The teacher.

The crowded classroom began to become loud as everyone began to chat to one another but Bryce was just going over something he had in his hand. It was over the rent for the apartment and he was trying to do the math in his head but it didn't go so well. He knew he'd have to do it on paper either way.

"Alright settle down,"

That voice made Ryan's hair stand on end as a tingle ran down his spine. He looked up and looked at the teacher who was leaning on his desk with one leg thrown over the other. "My name is Ryan Wrecker and I'm going to be your teacher." As soon as those words left his teachers mouth Bryce felt his stomach knot and his heart beat quicken. The man he loved was now his teacher.

Are you serious?

Bryce sunk in his seat as he tried to hold himself from crying or quitting college over this. The man at the front of the class seemed unaware of his presence so far and he wanted to keep it that way for as long as he could.

"So there's a lot of you in here and because of it I'm required to take roll. So when I call your name I need you to say something and not raise your hands. There's no way I'm going to see you if I'm looking at the paper," he chuckled as he grabbed it. "Alright so let's get started."

Bryce couldn't feel anything. All hopes of keeping himself calm and unknown to the man he left was gone like the dream of never meeting Ryan again. Poof, out the window they go! He was started to sweat with how much pressure he was under and all this time his eyes never left Ryan who was still calling out names.

Silence filled the room and he watched as Ryan's hazel eyes widen giving Bryce the idea he had found his name. "Bryce..McQuaid?" Ryan choked out, looking right up at the blonde. Bryce cleared his throat, "Here." His voice shook under Ryan's gaze. It stayed silent for a few minutes until Ryan shook himself back and started to call everyone else.

Bryce didn't know how to feel or what to expect if he was honest. He couldn't help but wonder if Ryan would try to speak to him or treat him as something other than a student. As the thoughts clouded Bryce's mind Ryan began to speak about his class expectations and so fourth, trying to forget the blonde in the seats.

When it was time for them to dismiss Bryce was the first out the door and down the hall to his next class. 'You've got to be kidding.' He thought as he rushed down the hallway and he made it to his next class on time. The teacher there did the exact same thing Ryan did before explaining his expectations.

The classes did the same thing and swapped each time they were finished. Bryce however, couldn't even pay attention to them because he was too busy thinking of what his class would be like. He couldn't look at Ryan any other way than a teacher now.

Something that divided them now.

You weren't allowed to have a relationship with your teacher as a student and he knew that. It gave him the upper hand if Ryan wanted to try anytning. The sad thing was he couldn't get his classes changed because Ryan just so happened to teach the most important one which at the time there was only one of. He knew if he went around telling people he had a relationship with Ryan before it'd basically be saying, "Hey I had a relationship with my teacher." Or "My teacher and I connect since I kissed them in high school." Which wasn't such a great idea for them both.

Bryce sighed as he tried his best to push the thoughts out of his head, he pushed his backpack up on his shoulder and looked straight ahead. How was he going to deal with this? It was all a matter of time before it broke him down but for now he was to force himself into a battle and actually fight to win. Every inch of him wanted to tell Ryan how bad he had missed him but there was that one part that spoke different. It was the devilish whispers that kept him from wanting to speak to his teacher.

And he couldn't change that.

As the day went on and Bryce had done all his classes he walked out to his car and began to put everything away. As he closed the door he watched snow fall from the cars door and he couldn't help but sigh in irritation as he remembered the Christmas he had with Ryan. To him it was the best but he'd never admit it anymore.

Bryce drove off from the college and noticed Luke had texted him asking about how it was which caused him to smile. No matter what Luke was there for him. "Guess you can't run from the past." He whispered to himself.
