~Steven's POV~

We just get back from a mission when a loud bang comes from Starlite's room. The door opens and we rush in and I see the two gems of Amber and Topaz. Their hurt badly I can tell. I hold on to them as the gems fight the slinker. Pearl with her spear jabs at it, Amethyst hit it with her whip as many times as possible avoiding it getting behind her. She's been poofed by a slinker before and now Starlite has too.
"I really hope they're alright in there. This slinker thing is really tough." I think clenching the two gems as I watching this battle between good and evil yet again good prevailing.

Boom the slinker is dead... Garnet bubbles it and sends it into the bubble room where we keep all the poofed gems from the past fights. "I don't understand..." I say aloud which makes Pearl look over at me wondering. "What's wrong Steven?" She asks me. "I don't understand how the slinker got into her room and what they want. It makes no sense." I reply looking at the two gems with concern. "Dude sometimes things happen you know? We can't stop that." Amethyst says from the couch below. I lie on my bed with Amber and Topaz's gems on a pillow hoping it would comfort them while recovering. Pearl looks down seeming worried about something but doesn't really show it.

"She'll be okay I promise. It may seem bad now but she's a gem like all of us and sometimes when gems are hurt they retreat into their gems. It's just that simple." Pearl explains to me which makes me feel a bit better but also a bit worse. She leaves the kitchen and heads into her room to do who knows what. I watch the gems closely hoping they'd reform soon.
