~Steven's POV~

I sit watching the movie as Starlite jumps up seeing that her dress is stained. She spawns a new one right away but its still the same as the one before it. "Hey guys." I say to the fusion as she dusts herself off and cleaning the stain up. "Yes Steven." She replies obviously Topaz is speaking because Amber is more energetic and fun loving.

"Sometimes I wonder... What was it like back then?" I ask the gem warrior referring to the many stories told to me by Pearl and Starlite herself. "Well...um." Starlite stutters but then quickly covers by taking a sip of what's left of her soda. "B...back then a lot of bad things were happening that I'd rather not talk about little man." She says placing her soft hand on my shoulder lovingly. She acts more of a sister than a mother just like Amethyst but I guess she already knows that.

I hug her to make her feel better knowing that she has had it rough with Pearl not trusting her and stuff. I know because at some point before we met Star there were times when I thought Pearl didn't trust me. Like when I said I saw something going from warp to warp when Peridot was trying to attack us. And the time when Pearl ran off to the gem battlefield with my mom's flag getting that one feeling that just can't be removed. That's the feeling of missing someone you love dearly. I miss her too even if I didn't get to know her. But Pearl and the others tell me stories about her when I ask or sometimes when we enter the ancient battlefield.

"Sometimes I wonder... What was mom like?" I ask the gem. She probably doesn't know as much as Pearl but she was fairly as close to my mom as Pearl says she was before the war. "Steven? W-well... Rose was a very close friend to us. After Amethyst came along they found me back on the battlefield. I wasn't hurt or anything I was confused and sad. Sad that those we fought with had fallen and confused because I couldn't decide whether to stay on Earth and look for them or to try and go back to our Homeworld to try and stop the Diamonds. I trained myself to for and be ready for the diamonds for 13 years." I remember that I'm 13 and yet Pearl and Star have been arguing for the past 2 months since she joined the crystal gems.

"I just don't  understand why Pearl doesn't trust me. I'm a friend who fought along side Rose just as she did." The gem says. "Star maybe she does trust you. She's just having a hard time showing it. Like Amber not liking Pearl because she thinks Pearl doesn't trust her. It's just that Pearl sometimes can act a certain way that nobody understands and yet only my mom could understand what Pearl really feels. Just give her some time and she'll adjust to you being around. I promise." I say trying to reassure blue fusion warrior. Her smile seems to be a bit unsteady but I know that deep in her heart she knows it's gonna be okay.

"I wonder how Garnet and Amethyst are doing." I say as the movie finally stops. Starlite shrugs but also wonders. "Hey you wanna go hand out around the boardwalk?" She asks me. That's clearly Amber getting bored. Sometimes she likes to go out and just hang out. It can't be helped, it's just how she is and the same goes for Amethyst. I nod and turn the TV off. Then we leave out heading to the boardwalk to have fun.
