As some of you may know, this book club was originally created by sarahklwilson but I have been asked to take over in her absence as she no longer has the time to run the book club anymore. So, this is gonna be a bit new for me as I've never done a book club until now. I do have experience at running a group profile but not weekly updates, so to speak. But if you guys are willing to bear with me I will do my best to keep to a schedule.

Right then!

Let's go over the rules.

As the name suggests, this is a fantasy, steampunk, sci fi book club but we do accept other sub genres such as space operas, high fantasy works ext. This allows us to receive feedback from the genre we are interested in and enjoy reading.

So how does the critique work?

Each week, two chapters will be critiqued on from the chosen 'Prime Book.' The Prime Book is decided by the group order the members are in on the Member List. The critique should be detailed and include points you like and points they should improve on.

The Effort Book will be chosen based on who gave the best feedback on the Prime Book, who is selected by that author. The Effort Book will receive a detailed critique on their FIRST chapter.

You all have one week to complete the assignment, otherwise you will no longer be eligible for the Prime Book until it is completed.

If you catch up, you will be re added to the bottom of the list, so you'll have to wait a VERY, LONG, TIME.

I will also be included in having to submit the assignment critiques on time so if I can do it, so can you.

You MUST comment 'Done' on each week's assignment once you have completed it, to let me know.. The harshness of the critique should be based on the Feedback Meter below and all members should respect each author's choice of criticism. The Feedback Meter is a scale of 1 - 5 of how much feedback they can handle, 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.

1- I can hardly handle life right now. Please don't say anything unkind, just hint at where I can improve.

2- I want to improve but I find feedback challenging. Please handle me with kid gloves.

3- I can take feedback, but try to phrase it inoffensively.

4- I know I need to improve and I'd like your honest opinion, but don't give me the full blast of your wrath. Take it down a notch.

5- You can't deny my self-confidence. Be as honest as possible.
