CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT !

"WHY DONT we go figure out what their doing?" matt mumbled once again before letting go of kennedy.

"mhm." she hummed.

when the two entered the kitchen, they found dylan leaning against the counter top talking to nick and chris.

"ohh! i see someone decided to finally come home."

"i had to do a couple things." dylan shrugged, before hugging kennedy.

"hi dyl." kennedy added.

"hi kenny," dylan replied before turning her attention to the boy who walked in behind her, "what's good bernard?" she smiled.

matt's face filled with shock, "how-" matt began to question her, specifically on how the hell she possibly knew his middle name.

"someone told me on the car ride here." she shrugged.

"what? what do you mean someone?" kennedy asked furrowing her brows.

suddenly kennedy heard the front door of their home open, a prominent voice echoed from behind her.

"so! is someone gonna help me with my bags or what?"

almost immediately, kennedy recognized the voice causing her to spin around toward the direction of the person, her eyes landing on the literal last person she would've ever expected to be standing in her doorway tonight, her sister.

"happy birthday bi-atch." gabi shouted.

tears of joy immediately began to brim her eyes, and without even thinking, kennedy practically sprinted toward her younger sister, wrapping her arms around her tightly.

"what the actual fuck are you doing here?" kennedy giggled, her voice being muffled by gabrielle's hair.

"just decided to come celebrate your 20th with 'ya" gabi shrugged pulling away from the hug.

"so you're the one who snitched on matt's middle name?" nick chuckled from the countertop.

kennedy turned away from gabi, making eye contact with matt, "your middle name is bernard?" she scoffed in disbelief.

"i don't wanna talk about it." matt shook his head, looking down at his feet.

kennedy laughed turning back to her sister, "i cannot believe your here right now."

"it's like perfect timing too." chris smiled widely.

"perfect timing for what?" dylan turned to him.

"for the album tomorrow?" chris replied with confusion.

dylan and gabi's eyes widened at chris, and then at the exact same moment diverted their glare toward kennedy.

"chris!" nick sent an elbow into his brother, causing chris to immediately realize that he had just revealed the album to the both of them.

"fuck," he muttered, "i forgot."

"kennedy, what is he talking about?" dylan questioned her sternly.

kennedy fidgeted in place, staring down at her feet, "um, i wrote an album! and its uhm-"

"and it's what, kennedy." gabi stepped back to get a better look at her sister in front of her.

kennedy looked up from her feet to glance in matt's direction, matt immediately noticing her discomfort. he knew that she didn't have the heart to say it herself, how is she supposed to tell her bestfriend and her sister that she had written an entire album and didn't tell them. let alone tell three other people she's only known for a couple weeks now before them?

so matt took it upon himself.

"she wrote an album, and it's dropping tomorrow."
