CHAPTER 25: HOME

Before Suhad arrived...

Just as Jannah's sister angrily stomped out of the room whilst muttering inappropriate words under her breath, she stopped in her tracks at the sight of Suhad waking towards the room.

What's he doing here? She wondered knowing that when she came up, he and Prince were waiting downstairs where Daihaah was with them.

Daihaah...the bitch must've called him up!

When her eyes met his cold ones, she hissed and looked away. With her head raised up high, she gulped slowly and then she attempted to side step him and walks away.

Keyword; attempted.

The words that came out of his mouth made her stop in her tracks, "I'd let it slip this one time as stupidity" he said, his tone matching the look on his face.

She stopped in her tracks, turning her head to look at him she scoffed at his audacity, "Excuse me?"

"What you just did back there" he pointed at the room he just came out of, "I won't be so nice the next time that happens" he tilted his head to the side just enough to give her a side view of her face, vice versa.

She looked away as she chuckled humorlessly. She then retreats her steps and stood in front of him, her eyes narrowed "Just who do you and Prince think you are?" her voice came out low but anyone can detect the venom in it, " Mrs. Sameer told me of her encounter with Daihaah, are you going to try the same nonsense Prince did with me?" She scoffed and continued not giving him the opportunity to talk, "Prince thinks he's all bad, you think the same too huh?"

On normal occasions, the corner of his lips would've tilted into a smirk but not today. He didn't plan on letting this woman disrespect him just anyhow, "Trust me..." he spoke lowly, "You'd rather deal with Aamir than to deal with me. A least he is more forgiving"

"What are you going to do to me?" she challenged as she glared at him.

Suhad finally let the corner of his lip tilt up, almost unnoticeable but she saw it and for some reason, it didn't scare her that much, "Nothing" he simply replied taking her off guard. She expected him to threatened her or say something that was supposed to make her scared but he didn't.

Suhad knew the consequence of what he just said. Sure, what he said at the beginning was true. She's rather deal with prince than to deal with him, even Aamir can testify to that. However, neither unlike Aamir he doesn't outright threaten people nor do something to them. He gives a warning, and f the person oversteps his or her boundaries by doing something that anger her a lot, that is when he steps in.

Jannah means a lot to him there's no doubt regarding that.

However, he knew the girl. Despite all these, she still cares about her sister. So much that she might push Suhad away if he does anything to her.

Sounds stupid right? After everything she did to her. But it is anything but stupid.

It's much easier to judge a person when you're not in the person's shoes. Same thing applies here.

"You're a pathetic excuse of a man" Said her elder sister as she gave Suhad a once over. Her eyes disrespectfully narrowed at him up and down.

Suhad scoffed slightly, "That's where you're wrong. I said I will do nothing to you now but if I were you, I'd stay away from anything relating to me. Trust me, it won't end so well"

She stared at him in disbelief, her mouth hung open slightly, "What..."

"Then again..." he cut her off, "You are too dumb to understand such thing. Why am I not surprised? You don't resemble a person with sense"

If this is a cartoon, Jannah's sister's face will be red now with smoke coming out of her ears. There'd probably even be train sounds in the background as the camera zooms in her red face. "How dare you?!" she half yelled. Amongst the Maikano siblings, she had always been the one with the shortest temper.

This always makes people think she's mentally unstable. She never took that mentality lightly.

So in a way, Suhad kind of hit the nerve.

Suhad massaged his temples, the woman is slowly starting to irritate him with her presence and voice that sounds like that of a dying frog. "Use that peanut sized brain of yours to understand when something is out of your reach. I don't have your time so I'll only tell you this once, stay away from my wife if you know what's good for you. You heard what Aamir's of right? You don't want to be the one that will tell people what I am capable of. It won't be a nice experience"

He didn't wait for her to reply as he walked away from the fuming woman. He left the decision up to her. If she has sense then she'd heed to his warning and stay away from his wife. If not...let's not talk about that.

"Jay" he said, as he made his way towards his wife while Daihaah quietly slipped out and left the couple.

Perhaps it was the sound of his voice, or maybe she had calmed down but whatever it is, her head snapped up at the sound of his voice. Her tear filled eyes stared at the man that's now her husband.

Her head hurt. A lot.

She could feel the throbbing pain in the back of her head and the black spots threatening to cover her vision. She tried to fight it but she couldn't. She could only handle so much without breaking down.

She felt someone's arms around her shaking her, and a familiar voice calling out what seemed to be her name but she couldn't do anything to stop it. She had given up to the darkness that consumed her.

There, she found the peace she lacked the past few days.

~*~

"She fainted due to stress. The events of the past few days must be very traumatic for her. That along with the lack of sleep and depression, the list actually goes on and on" The first voice said. It sounded unfamiliar.

She wanted to pry her eyes open but she couldn't. No matter how hard she tried she just couldn't do anything. That frustrated her.

"What do you suggest we do then doctor?" A familiar voice came, but she couldn't pinpoint whom it belonged to.

"You might want to get her away from here for the mean time. You said you're her husband right?"

"Yes I am" Came another voice. Her head was starting to hurt from these various voices and she could feel herself slowly losing consciousness again.

"Then I suggest you take her away from here for the time being. You should spend time with her, just the two of you. She will need a few weeks to recover but the pain will always be there. However, she might get back on track after these few weeks" that was all she heard before she gave into the darkness again. This time, she had a feeling it will last longer than the first time.

~*~

Jannah opened her eyes slowly to get accustomed to the dimly lit room. It wasn't that dark though, she could still see everything. The room just wasn't excessively bright enough to hurt her eyes when she first opened them. Her gaze moved around the unfamiliar room that only made the wheels in her head turn.

She did not remember the room.

Her brows furrowed as she tried to remember what last happened before she lost consciousness. Then it all reign in, she remembered her sister and her words which led to Jannah having a panic attack. She also remembered hearing Suhad voice before she blacked out.

Wait...

Suhad!

Her head swept to the side which was empty. She was the only person in the unfamiliar room that somehow seemed a bit familiar to her. Not familiar in the sense that she'd been there before but familiar in the sense that it reminded her of someone. It room also seemed to be painted with the same color she had always loved.

Teal blue.

Everything in the room is either blue or white.

But then again, the room really did look familiar.

However, that wasn't what her main aim was at the moment, so she ignored checking the room out and focused on getting the hell out of there.

With much effort, she pushed the silk duvet off her body and slowly swung her legs out of the bed. However, before they could touch the cold tiled floor, the door swung open and a familiar face walked in.

Jannah's eyes widened when she saw Suhad walk in. She was in too much shock to even let her eyes wander to see what he was wearing. Her eyes might just fall off from the way she had widened them

"Careful Jay, your eyes might just fall off" he voiced out, his tone sounded amused.

It was then that Jannah's eyes met his, and involuntarily, her heart beat picked up.

Why? Because it was then that she remembered that he is her husband now.

They're Mr. and Mrs.

"You...what...how..." she couldn't even figure out what question to ask first. Plus, her throat felt parched which is why her voice came out hoarse.

He walked towards her and picked up the water bottle on the bedside table which she didn't realize was there and poured it in the tumbler beside it. Jannah's eyes followed his actions, and yet again, involuntarily, she gulped. God knows she only realized how much she wanted to drink water.

"Seriously Jay? Calm down, it is for you anyway" he teased when he saw the way she was eying the water as if it's her one love. Or in other words, as if it's Pepsi.

Suhad didn't know if he should be worried out a mineral drink but still...her love for that thing is something out of the ordinary.

She glared at him weakly but didn't say anything. She knew he was trying to lighten up the mood and get her mind off the recent events but its' not that easy. That's why; she took the tumbler from him and quietly gulped it all down. She ignored the way he looked at her while she was drinking it. Or, more like the stare she received from him.

When she was done with the water, he collected the tumbler form her and placed it back on the bedside cabinet.

It was then that Jannah let her gaze move round the strange room again, this time more closely, "Where are we?" she asked, her voice sounding low as she turned to look at her husband.

God, that feels weird to even think about it. She thought.

"Isn't it obvious?" he asked as he sat on the edge of the bed beside where she is.

She stared at him with the are-you-kidding-me-look, "If it was, I wouldn't have asked you will I?"

Suhad chuckled, God knows he missed her comebacks even though now it wasn't as bad as before, but still. He didn't reply though.

"Will you tell me or not?" she asked sounding slightly irritated though she was anything but.

He sighed, "Geez I thought you would've figured that out by now. It's our home"

"Our house?!" her voice raised up slightly as her eyes widened again. She didn't think she'd have to move in with him this early. Wait, she didn't move in with him. She didn't even remember going there.

"Home Jay, home"

It was as if something clicked in her, she looked down at the clothes that she had on. It wasn't the same one she had on earlier, this is a grey sweater and a seemingly matching slacks. Her head slowly rose up and she rested her murderous gaze on him.

The man better not!!...

Regardless of the fact that he's her husband, he can't go around doing stuff like that. Nope, no way, and, that is not acceptable.

"Chisos woman! Daihaah did that not me, can you try to not murder me with your eyes" he exclaimed making the corner of her lips tilted up at his pronunciation of 'Jesus' as 'Chisos'. She knew he did that to make her smile, and it sort of worked.

The thought of Daihaah being the one that changed her made her feel a little bit better. Now, she was no longer thinking of 10001 ways to kill the man she calls her husband in her sleep.

Suhad stood up and extended his hand out to her. She raised her brows at this so he explained, "Let's get you something to eat. I'm sure you're hungry"

She didn't think twice as she took his hand and he helped her out of the bed. She slipped into the pair of teal flip flops and followed his lead as they walked out of the room.

Jannah couldn't keep her eyes to herself as she took in the house as they walked downstairs. She could swear she had been here before as everything look awfully familiar. She just couldn't tell where but the gut feelings he had tells her that she has been here, or at least somewhere that looks exactly like here, but where? It wasn't until she stepped foot in the kitchen that she stopped in her tracks while Suhad walked further in to the counter.

She looked around the place with furrowed eyebrows, something she does when she is focused on doing something.

"What's wrong Jay?" Suhad's voice came as he opened one of the drawers to pull out a plate.

"I can swear I have been here before" she replied still not looking away from the place.

Suhad nodded as if understanding what she meant, "Oh. You have"

She turned to look at him, lips puckered slightly and eyes squinted, "When?"

He placed the plate on the counter not taking the situation seriously unlike her as he headed to the refrigerator while she made her way to the counter cautiously, "Well not here-here. But you've been to Daihaah and Anee's house. It's the same"

"How?"

"Well, we all had it built closely and exactly the same" he replied as he pulled out a bottle of Pepsi from the refrigerator and walked back to the counter again, placing it beside the plate and food warmers.

Jannah's brows furrowed as realization dawned on her, her eyes dilating slightly,  "that means..."

He nodded understanding what she meant,  "Yes. Daihaah and Aamir are our neighbours. You can go to their house using the backyard door" he said as she sat on a stool opposite her.

Jannah's eyes lightened up at the mention of that. Suhad didn't need her to voice it out but he understood what she's about to suggest, so, he quickly spoke up,  "You can go there layer. For mow you need to eat first and I also want you to meet someone, he'll be here soon"

"Who is he?"

"My father"
