So there was this once upon a time,
A long long ways away,
In a place I'm sure you don't know,
And it was there that this girl was born.

Her eyes shone bright,
And her mind was always buzzing.
Full of desire and need and desperation.

And every night,
Before she turned off her bedroom light,
This little girl said goodnight to the stars.

And when she woke up,
The girl saw that the stars had gone,
And every morning,
She wept for them to come back.

Things went sour,
As they often do,
And the girl got sick.

Sick with rage,
Sick with desperation,
And it hurt the girl to know that such good things could disappear.

Driven mad by a longing for something she could never have,
The girl climbed out of her bedroom window,
And climbed onto the roof.
Where she stood on the tips of her toes,
And reached into the sky.

And the girl caught a cloud,
And she pulled herself onto it,
And she let the wind carry her away.

Until finally,
The girl had made it into the depths of the night.
And she began a life amongst the stars.
