Patton was saved thanks to Logan and because of him, he could start fresh as he now had actual friends.

Logan met up with him the next day, "ah, Patton."

"Hey Lo!" He smiled his bright cheery smile.

Logan frowned, "Patton..."

Patton sighed, "you sure you wanna hang out with me? I mean... you're a star student!"

Logan frowned, "I'm not a star, a star is a fixed luminous point in th-"

"No I mean you're smart, you've got your whole life ahead of you, you even have friends!"

Logan's frown curved further down, "I do not have friends and I have my life planned out because I want to get away from Hatcher Field."

"Why?" Patton asked as they walked to his locker.

"My father isn't the best man alive, luckily and legally he can't see me anymore and while my mother is nice, she's overbearing and unhealthy protective. Not to mention this small town has nothing for me here."

Patton opened his locker, "oh I'm sorry."

"Don't be. I don't care anymore."

Logan, the boy with very little emotions as he found out yesterday, hadn't asked him about his suicide attempt and hadn't freaked out, the second was confusing him.

"Why aren't you freaked out after yesterday?" Patton asked.

"I guess, because I know you're alive and I stopped you in time. And don't forget, I'm not the best when it comes to emotions."

Logan dropped Patton off at his class and walked to his own, which was in the opposite side of the school.

He had seen Patton around school for years but never had the courage to talk to him, not to mention Patton didn't really see him until the day they bumped into each other. The intelligent teen had formed a crush in the freckled male but kept it hidden.

These feelings were new to him, but now he was dealing with a new friendship, something he's never really had before.

Yes, there's the emo boy on his street during vacations, but other then him, Patton was his first and only friend.
