The entrance glowed

With it own inner light

Was I really

Ment to do this?

In my hand,

The rock I held

Glowed brightly

Like a sun.

-

The sword was growing hot

Was that a good sign?

The caverns lead downwards

Sloping and twisting.

-

A small trickle of water

A little spot of light

As I traveled on

In the dark.

-

And soon the water

Widened to a stream

And then a river

Rushing through the cave.

-

Then it pooled

Into a magnificent lake

And though their was no visible light

The water itself seemed to glow.

-

The walls were bright 

With their own inner light.

And here, I felt at peace

I felt true. Complete.

-

A small boat sat on the shore

Made of white bone.

I stepped inside

And it began to move.

-

The glowing waters 

Shimmered in the light

No creature seemed to live here

This place was empty.

-

The boat kept moving

Across the lake

And soon, through the light

I saw the outline of an island.

-

And as we approached

I saw what it contained.

A white pavilion

A center to this all.

-

The boat settled gently

On the shore,

And I stepped onto the island

Made of light.

-

On the pavilion

A small alter stood.

And so I knelt 

I payed my respects.

-

A voice filled my head

One of wonder

One of joy

And this voice, I knew her!

-

She was the mother

The light

Of all the world

Of all the life.

-

She knew why I had come

She could see my mind

And she called forth her spirits

Her servants of light.

-

Sun, to release the illusion.

Moon, to heal the land

Star as a guide

To fight the night.

-

The second sword

I pulled from the rock.

And it shined

With its own inner light.

-

Silver and gold

Moon and Sun

And Star was their

To bind them as one.

-

And then they shrank

I could not use them in this form

An amulet of pure light

Of silver and gold.

-

It called me. Bound me

And a new source of magic

Bright and full, 

Filled me.

-

The pure white dragon

The guiding star

Flew high

And then dove!

-

And into the water we entered

And we traveled far.

Until under us, twas not water

It was air!

-

And the sun was shining across the land

Dispelling the illusions that had come

And the people saw the truth

The darkness overtaking the land.

-

Silver and Gold

They gave me power

As I rose

With the rising sun!

-

My body burned

I was changed.

And part of me

No longer there.

-

A dark dragon took to the sky

The servant of night

Of darkness, desire

Riding Eclipse's flight!

-

He had the swords as well

The sword of Shadow

The sword of Night.

And he drew them.

-

But I never used a sword

I never needed one.

And so I drew my magic

As golden fire!

-

And the battle raged

As the sun rose

Between Light and Dark

In the morning light.

-

It was a near miss

Many times

But eventually 

Light had one!

-

A strike of gold

Hitting his heart.

But alas, as well

A strike of black.

-

I fell far, far

Falling to earth

Star could not save me

Nobody could

-

But as I floated

Through the clouds

I realized something

Something I had been missing!

-

Bright, Wild, Holy

All were the same!

For life fed the wilderness

And I, apart of it.

-

And with this newfound knowledge

I began to sing.

Warping not just Bright.

Not just Wild, nor Holy.

-

I knew who I was

For I was all

I was apart of

The universe.

-

And then Star came

Roaring fire!

And seconds before pain

She caught me in my talons

-

Strength flooded back into me

And Fire too.

The amulet glowed

Red-hot.

-

Star carried me down

Setting me on the ground

Eclipse had been killed

A fatal blow

-

But I was injured also

And pain filled me twin fold

And as I drifted in and out

Star leaned over me

-

And in the darkness that ensued

I saw a glimpse of Paradise

Green fields, Blue sky

But I fell back away.

-

Star saved me

She healed my heart

And I lived

Lived to be ancient, even.
