This one was a bit easier.

"Amelia, sword!" Roxy yelled.

"I'm not killing your prey for you!" Amelia mocked in a high pitched tone, throwing her magic, shapeshifting sword at Roxy, who caught it perfectly.

"Cover your ears!" Roxy called as the beast opened his mouth. Roxy threw the sword in it.

The beast choked on it and died. Roxy walked over to the Pikler and kicked it.

"Dumb as a rock. If this is the most dangerous creature you have, then we'll get by quickly," she said.

Amelia nodded. "The most dangerous things here are the plants. You'll probably die if you touch them, I already told you."

"We're almost out of the forest. There's a mountain pass, then we'll be back in a meadow." Amelia nodded forward, once again taking the lead.

"Holly, don't be afraid of Amelia, okay? She's not gonna hurt-" Holly cut Roxy off.

"No, she's cool. I like her," Holly said.

Roxy looked shocked. Joey was also surprised that the girl would feel safe around a hitman.

"Thanks!" Amelia called from up ahead.

Joey walked past Roxy. "If Holly trusts her, you probably should too."

"S-she's a bit wild, but so is Andy. I don't trust her, but I'm not afraid," Holly explained.

Andy, Joey, and Roxy nodded, as if this made more sense.

"So is it normal, for your universe, to stand behind and chitchat while the rest of your travel group waits ahead?" Amelia called.

"Yeah," Joey replied.

"Well, it's rude here. I'll let it slide just this once," Amelia said. "And every other time you did it. And when me and my brother did it."

"It's rude in our world too. We do it anyways." Joey laughed.

"Just come on up! We're so close! I know a cave we could sleep in." Amelia gestured for them to come over.

They met with them near the end of the forest.

"It can't possibly be night. How many hours are in a day, Amelia?" Joey asked.

"About 24. I never paid attention in Physics, though," Amelia replied.

Toby rolled his eyes. His eyes met with Joey's, and the look in them said, Don't correct her. Joey nodded.

"So, how long did you go to school, Amelia?" Roxy asked.

"Seven years. I dropped out, because I hung out at Wizard Temples instead. We get high on grenwil and practice magic and get into fights and have a good time. On Fridays, we have karaoke night." Amelia took a bar of granola out of her pocket, unwrapped it, and bit in.

"How is it night? And how do you know?" Joey said.

She shrugged. "I can feel it. Also, we've been in this forest for hours. It makes you lose concept of time, space, and distance."

"Why do you just shrug at these things?" Roxy crossed her arms.

She shrugged.

Roxy let out an annoyed grunt.

Something buzzed. Amelia reached inside her pocket and pulled out a metal sphere.

She stared at it for a minute then yelled, "Crap!"

"What?" Andy, Holly, Joey, and Roxy said together.

"Look." Amelia showed them her ball. There was an article about the six of them, and that if they were spotted, they were to be arrested and brought to the king.

"Damn it! Those asshat spies! We have to move faster! They'll be on our goddamn trail even faster now! I can erase our tracks. Damn it!" Amelia cursed.

"Maybe, if we get arrested, we can find the portal. Where does he keep it?" Joey offered.

"Are you out of your damn mind? They'll kill us! I can't do anything against the king! I'll die!" Amelia screamed.

"Keep your voice down. Probably better," Andy said softly. She scowled but nodded.

"A-are we going t-to d-die?" Holly shook so hard Joey thought she would explode.

"We're not. But me and Toby will have to join you. We'll be hunted here, if we stay. Is that alright?" Amelia asked. She looked at Roxy. "Then we never have to speak again. I swear."

Joey nodded. Roxy rolled her eyes.

Amelia started running. "Hurry, guys!"

Andy scooped Holly up. They all ran as fast as they could. They soon saw the mountain pass.

They ran for it. It seemed so far. Soon, they were in it, and Amelia stopped suddenly. An entrance appeared out of nowhere, and she rushed everyone inside.

A lantern formed in Amelia's hands when the entrance closed.

"We have to stay here, tonight and tomorrow night. I'll track the wizards, make sure we don't run into them. Got it? Man, I wish I could teleport." Amelia made her way down the hall until there was a small, yet beautiful cavern.

"Got it," Joey said.

Six beds formed out of nowhere. Just like everything else since they met Amelia.

"So cool," Andy muttered. Amelia smiled.

They were all queen-sized. Amelia and Toby took the two next to each other, by the underground lake. Holly took the one in the middle of the cave, Andy jumped in the one next to Holly's. Roxy decided to sleep next to Andy. Joey slept next to Roxy, in the corner.

"What if this is all just a trick, so she can kill us or take our portal or send us to the king?" Roxy whispered.

Joey groaned. "Goodnight, Roxy."

"We can't trust her! She lied to us!" Roxy said furiously.

"Kept a dark secret. She told us regardless. Told us we were in danger with her. Maybe you are right. But I think that was real news. And if it was, we can certainly trust her now, she's on the run, just like us." Joey yawned. "Goodnight."

"Could have been lying! Made it up! Showed us her story with false magic!" Roxy snapped.

"Goodnight, Roxy."

"Is she mind-controlling you?" Roxy whispered loudly.

"Can't do that," Amelia called tiredly.

"Goodnight." Joey was done listening. He hadn't even realized how tired he'd been. He was starting to get a little hungry, but he decided to ignore that and wait for the next morning.

"If the wizards come, will they k-kill us?" Holly asked.

"I promise, I'll protect you," Amelia and Andy said at the same time.

"Jinx!" Once again, at the same time.

"Double jinx!" This could go on forever.

"Triple jinx!"

"OH MY GOD GET A ROOM!" Joey yelled. He grabbed his pillow and slammed it over his head.

"Holly, Roxy, we're fine. Goodnight!" No one said anything for the rest of the night.

Joey relaxed. He finally fell asleep.
