The war and the death of Slip had stirred your and Finn's aspect of the Order even further. Seeing your fellow Stormtroopers slaughtering civilians and creating terror and chaos wasn't what you wanted to do, but witnessing Slip dying... it was the last thing that sealed your decision to run away.

So when Poe Dameron turned up to the base, you and Finn saw a way out. You hijacked one of the TIE fighters and just flew out, and vowed to never return.

For Finn, the liberation meant that he had a chance to be with you. Be in love with you, something Phasma never allowed and gave you beatings if she caught you two together, now there was no Phasma or anyone else blocking your ways to be together, love each other freely. Maybe you'd even have a little house with a garden together when the war was over.

Time would show. Now you just had to get Poe back to the Rebellion base and ask for shelter for a couple of nights. You could just hope they'd believe you when you told them that you really weren't working for the Order anymore, you wanted them to lose just as much as the Rebellion wanted, you had seen their cruelties up close.

You were a bit scared of their reaction, but as long as you had Finn by your side, you believed that you'd be safe from any harm. You're happy to hold his hand and look at him, being there with you, with no intentions to leave and abandon you. And you hoped you'd be able to spend the rest of your life with him.
