Obi-Wan

Sand. It surrounded everything on this death trap of a planet. It welcomed itself inside his home, eventhough he had just swept it outside to play. His eyes rolled at the new mess that had magically emerged from the sandy surroundings of his home. His ginger hair flopped to the beat of the air-conditioned room he called home - it was probably the coolest place on the planet right now. Picking up a bottle of water he carelessly flopped down on to his musty old couch. Opposite the couch stood an old photo of the people he loved. Standing probably in the picture was Commander Cody with  Fives, Waxer, Boil, Jessie, Kix, Wolffe with his arm around his Buir (father), Plo Koon, looking relaxed and a super hyper Helix. In front of them sat Anakin Skywalker with his arm around his not so secret wife, him and the love of his life - the late Duchess Satine - and Ahsoka and Rex. On the floor were four of those Loth Cat things that the 501 had insisted adopting. They were bad at aiming when it came to using their litterbox just to annoy him....or they just had problems with the litter tray.In the very back of the image, stood Mace Windu with Commander Ponds, with Commander Bly and his General. A brief moment of happiness clouded his mind as he let himself remember the good times of the Clone War.

Suddenly, he was overwhelmed with sadness. There was one face missing from that perfect picture...hiding his emotions, he looked at a nearby shelf, littered with his one luxury - hair products. Out of everything he could have had, miraculously he had chosen them. Just because he was a desert dweller, didn't mean he couldn't keep his hair looking dashing and handsome. He wanted to look his best if he was going to get back into action at some point. Grabbing a sealed bottle he headed into the refresher, hoping that his hair dye wasn't going to burn his greying hair off. He hated being bald; it left his head feeling cold.

One hour later, he emerged from the depths his cheap and nasty refresher, hoping that nobody had robbed him. Grooming his hair into its signature style, he noticed something bleep in the corner of his eye. A bright red light called to him. He hadn't seen it do that in almost two years. Curiously, keeping knelt down and felt his way through a dinky gap, emerging with an ancient comlink. It screamed at hin. Who could it be? Only three people in the entire galaxy had access to this comm. Stunned, he had to think how he was supposed to activate it. Somehow to years had taken their toll on him. With a tap of his thumb, a hologram lept to life.

"Kenobi..." greeted an all too familiar voice, "You're looking well."

"I could say the same for you, Ventriss." smiled Obi-wan. This was the first off planet contact he had received since he had gracefully landed, with some of his sassy piloting skills, on the dust ball people called Tatooine. He stared at his former arch nemesis. She had changed a lot since their last encounter. Her bald head had been replaced by a short silver hair. She wore a skin tight suit with a weapons belt. "May I ask what the special occasion is? I hope it isn't for a social chat. You know we can't risk it. The Empire might be tracing this, my dear."

"Do you not trust me, Kenobi?" asked Ventriss, acting shocked. Her Lightsaber bounced as he figure moved. "After all we have been through?

I'm contacting you because I've come across a Jedi Temple. It's on Lothal."  She paused, carefully watching him stroke his none existent beard. He had been forced to shave it off inorder to hide his identity. "You miss him don't you?"

"It's been hard to live with what I had to do to Anakin."  sighed Kenobi as he recalled that monstrous scene on Mustafar. Anakin had lost to the darkness that lurked inside of him. He was spoon fed down this path by Palpatine. The idiotic Sith that was right under their noses. The Council had let their pride blind them throughout the war, especially with Ahsoka Tano. He missed them dreadfully. Anakin was his stubborn brother  and Ahsoka was well..... his Grand Padawan and a niece to him. He loved them dearly and he always would. "I can't forgive myself for it."

"You need to move on." advised Ventriss, suddenly concerned for her old comrade. "You need to focus on what is going on now, Kenobi. You still have some bite left. Don't waste your life on making yourself suffer. Kenobi, I need you to investigate this Temple. Only a Jedi can open it. Who knows, we could fine some survivors or a huge trap."

"Let me pack a bag and attempt to find mine, and Anakin's Lightsaber. He would have wanted me to give it to either Ahsoka or his daughter."

"Why not give it to his son?" she asked, curiously, raising an eyebrow.

"I sence his son would rather build one himself. His daughter seems like someone who would honour his legacy and pass on the Lightsaber from Master to Padawan or Mother to child." He smiled at the thought of holding little Leia in his arms. " Are you coming to get me, bounty hunter?"

" I may as well. I highly doubt the Imps are stupid enough to let someone like you off this planet." She smirked at the fact that he was wearing the exact same robes as he was at the time of the Republic's downfall. Did he seriously only have those clothes. She knew that the Jedi weren't very fond of having possessions but this was a whole new level of gross, especially for the Negotiator. "You look like a hermit."

"That's what I'm meant to be, my dear." replied Obi-Wan, happily ignoring the fact that he did owns some other clothes. "I guess I'll meet you in Mos Eisley at the space port." He watched as Ventriss rolled her eyes, just realising how annoying he really was.

"So much for saying this conversation could being monitored as we speak, Kenobi." She replied, slightly irritated. she placed a hand on her hip. "I hope you don't bring a legion of Imps with you. The last time I checked, they weren't on the guest  list. I am not in the mood for having to do things that require effort. Maybe tomorrow I will be. Just grab your stuff, Kenobi and meet me there."

"Yes, my dear." replied Obi-Wan as he offered her a mock bow. "I hope you make it down here in one piece; The TIE Fighter presence has increased dramatically in the past few weeks. There are a lot more patrols than there were before."

"Why do you always leave the most important details until last minute? Aren't you more organised than this?" complained Ventriss with the slight complication ringing through her head. "We'll figure how we get off this desert ball tomorrow. Ventriss out."  Her figure silently flickered and vanished, leaving Obi-Wan to think about where hid hid his Lightsaber.
