Reylo: Dont be Afraid
"Hello Rey," Kylo Ren stood before the girl once again, "you are looking well."
"Kylo Ren." Rey stood rigid with her hands behind her back, she tried to match the emotionless face of Kylo Ren's mask but she couldn't help but show fear.
The two were now standing in a large board room overlooking the setting suns on Takodana. After the events of Starkiller base, the Resistance and the First Order decided the best way to keep peace in the galaxy was to attempt a treaty. Both the Resistance and First Order were left crippled after Starkiller base, were desperate to stop another war from erupting. Both Rey and Kylo Ren were the lead diplomats for their parties and they had met briefly before on meetings, but before there were several other diplomats accompanying them. Now, they were alone. Today was the day they would decide whether or not the Jedi would to be returned to the galaxy as the peace keepers. Rey and the Resistance were in favor, the Resistance was opposed.
"Today is an important day, Rey. We have much to discuss." Kylo Rens heavy, metallic voice came out from the mask in a short clip. Rey breathed in deeply trying to keep herself composed. She fidgeted with her dress from behind. The long, heavy blue dress was rather uncomfortable but Leia Organa said if she was to be a diplomat, she must look the part. The dress was velvet and had a low neckline exposing her collar bones. Her hair had been meticulously braided by a maid which made Rey rather uncomfortable. The braid was twisted into a tall bun atop her head. Her whole look was very different from her usual attire and she felt uneasy in it.
"Yes, yes it is. The day we decide if I shall continue my training as a jedi, or cease it entirely." She looked up into the lifeless mask and narrowed her eyes.
The two sat at the large table, across from one another. The table was fit for 8 people therefore having only 2 felt strangely lonely. They spoke for almost an hour about various topics regarding government and politics and how the galaxy shall function with two strong parties. The conversations made little ground and Kylo Ren found himself attempting to hold himself back. He did not come here to fight with Rey, he did not want to hurt her back on Starkiller base and he doesn't want to hurt her now. He noted that they had not actually spoken directly until today, before they were surrounded by representatives and senators; but today it was only them. Although he always tries to restrain his mind from wandering, he couldn't help but think Rey looked beautiful. The gown was very regal and proper but Rey made it look stunning. She seemed to beam light, he thought.
"What of your army?" Rey asked pushing a strand of hair behind her ear,
"My army can act as a military reserve, a force to allow peace for all citizens of every planet."
"Your stormtroopers? Bringing peace? That is the job of a Jedi." She scoffed,
"My stormtroopers are far more than capable to keep peace in the galaxy. There is no place for the Jedi and lightsabers anymore." He spoke strongly and smoothly, noticeably clenching his fist.
"If I must turn over my lightsaber then so shall you." She stressed her last words, he stiffened and rose from his chair. He walked towards Rey causing her to stand on instinct as well. He stopped in front of her and leaned forwards,
"I am no Jedi." The tension was now so thick in the air you could feel it,
"So you say Kylo Ren, but you cannot deny the strong feeling of light we both felt in that interrogation room!" She raised her voice and came to a stop in front of him,
"You will not place me into a category of being that I have no place in!" He yelled and raised a hand to her face, smacking her with a cold, leather glove.
Rey's face was thrown to face the wall, she didn't move it back for several moments knowing she'd have a strong desire to attack the black mass once she saw him. She breathed through her nose deeply and closed her eyes. She composed herself and calmed her mind using the force, a technique taught to her by Luke Skywalker. She reopened her eyes and looked at Ren, her face read a mix between anger and disappointment.
"Is that the problem then? You feel you do not belong to the light? Hm, that may be true but you certainly do not belong to the darkside either." Her voice returned to a quiet but strong diplomatic voice. She turned and walked to the bay window in the empty room. She placed her hand on the railing and breathed deeply,
"You mustn't forget that Kylo Ren."
A body appeared besides Rey only a moment later, she took her eyes away from the vast, tropical landscape and looked up at Kylo Ren. She realised he had removed his mask, his face was no different but not displayed a long, pink scar across his face. Her mouth fell open slightly and she crossed her arms, that was the scar she left on him. She had literally left her mark on him, the thought was unsettling. Rey noted that past the scar, he was still brilliantly handsome. She had felt that way ever since she first saw his face.
"That was rash of me." He said without looking at her, his normal voice was smoother and softer now. She was surprised to hear an apology, but it was gladly accepted.
"The Jedi will never go away no matter what you do. The force is persistent like that, it always finds a way to surface again even after many years. Even if it surfaces in a scavenger from a desert planet."
"You are a mystery to me, Rey. How is it that you have the power to get under my skin so effortlessly?" He looked down to her now and she sighed,
"There is nothing effortless about this."
"Take a walk with me, Rey." The maskless Kylo Ren extended a hand to Rey. She hesitated at first because looked into his eyes and found them difficult to read. He was similarly mysterious to her, but she took his hand anyways. The leather was cold and lacking any comfort, but his face read differently. She was comforted by his eyes and his lips. She had to force herself to look away from those lips.
___
Kylo Ren led her out to the surface of the planet to walk. The clouds were lit with reds and oranges fading into deep blues. The sun washed against Rey's face making it come alive, Kylo Ren found it difficult to look away from her.
"This is much better than the stuffy board room." Kylo Ren muttered as they walked around the station which lacked any signs of other people,
"Yes, I suppose it is." Rey snickered and looked up to meet Ren's face,
"Why do you really want the Jedi gone? I understand the Order's reasoning, but what is yours?"
"The Jedi threaten everything I stand for." Kylo Ren's clenched his fist and looked away from Rey,
"I use the force for ultimate power, I use it for leverage on my enemies. I indulge in revenge and passion. These are the very things all Jedi are taught to reject."
"That may be true, but not all of you is dark. There is light in you I know." Rey stopped and without realizing, grabbed his forearm. Ren tensed and sucked air in while casting his gaze to hers,
"I mustn't allow myself to feel those things. My grandfather did and payed dearly for it. Light made him weak, just as it does all Jedi." He spat while Rey struggled to keep a calm demeanor.
"You don't have to let it Kylo Ren. Luke Skywalker told me about something once," Rey leaned towards him and tightened her grasp on his forearm,
"They're people who are not light not dark, they walk the line in the middle. They bring balance to the force and to the Galaxy. The Gray Jedi." Ren snatched his arm from her grasp,
"I am no savior." Rey sighed in defeat, she muttered so he couldn't hear her,
"Maybe you could be."
Rey recalled the night Luke told her about the Gray Jedi, Rey had had night terrors that night. She dreamed of a darkness encasing her and trapping her, she felt like she was trapped in a void of all light. Luke told her those were the things he had once sensed from a man named Darth Sidious. Luke explained to her that he was Darth Vader's master, but he also betrayed Darth Vader. Sidious demanded he kill Darth Vader and take his place as his pupil. Luke denied him and allowed the light to lead his following actions. Luke told Rey that she could always allow the light to lead her, but there have been a select few in history he neither rejected darkness or light. They accepted both and balanced them, but they also went extinct many decades ago. After those stories Rey had been able to control her dreams, she dreamed of passion but also peace. She dreamed of sincerity and serenity. She dreamed she would one day be a Gray Jedi.
"The sun has set, we shall return inside." Kylo Ren demanded and led her inside the base.
"The Resistance is staying for the whole week, yes?" He asked once they were inside,
"Yes. The diplomatic arrangements were for both sides to stay for five days."
"Very well."
They walked inside and through the corridors towards the living quarters. Rey found it unsettling to see both stormtroopers and resistance pilots filling the halls. It was uncomfortable for everyone, she assumed.
Rey punched the code into the entrance to her quarters, Kylo Ren stood behind her for a moment. He stood confidently while holding his helmet at his side.
"Goodnight, Rey. We will meet again tomorrow." He turned to go to his own quarters but Rey stopped him,
"Wait," she allowed herself to speak without thinking, he turned back to her and tilted his head to the side.
"I think that you're afraid of the light. That isn't my place to determine but- I am afraid of the dark. It frightens me to not have control over my emotions, but I see myself allowing darkness to control me sometimes. Like that day in the forest, when I scarred you. I think we could help each other Kylo Ren. I have something to learn from you and I believe you have something to learn from me."
Kylo Ren stood stunned, he found himself unable to deny that. He gulped and nodded,
"Goodnight, Kylo Ren." Before she could enter her quarters, Kylo Ren reached out and grabbed her shoulder.
"Do not be afraid of the dark, Rey. You have nothing to be afraid of, you are so much stronger than you know."
Kylo Ren placed a hand on her cheek and pulled her face to his. Rey put a hand on top of his and leaned up, placing a soft kiss against his lips. When she pulled away she saw something different in Ren's eyes, compassion, she thought. Ren kissed her again, this time more forcefully. He tasted like whiskey. Rey kissed back and moved her body to lay against his.
He finally pulled away and flicked his eyes up to meet hers,
"Thank you." Ren muttered before turning and marching down the hallway to his own room. Rey found herself unable to move, she couldn't quite comprehend anything. Thank you? She thought. For what? The kiss, or maybe for what she said earlier. She couldn't allow herself to keep wondering, so she retired to her bedroom and fell asleep with the feeling of his lips on her skin.
___
"Good morning." Kylo Ren said as soon as Rey walked into the dining hall. She had woken up later than she had hoped and gotten prepared for the day. She put on a much more simple outfit today than yesterday, it was a black tunic with brown legging and black boots. It suited her much more, also she did not care much for the heavy dress from yesterday. Her hair was still wet from her sonic shower and hung in messy curls around her cheeks. Even after the shower, she had not quite come to her senses.
"Hi." She returned, very lazily. Ren snickered a little making Rey cock her head to the side,
"What?" She demanded. Ren shook his head from the table at which he sat,
"You seem very tired." Rey squinted a little and rubbed her eyes with the back of her thumb. Once she opened them again, she realized Kylo Ren was the only person in the room besides a serving droid.
"Where is everyone?" She asked while sitting across from him at the dining table,
"They had a meeting this morning, they left over an hour ago."
"Why are you still here?" She asked while the droid placed a plate full of breakfast items in front of her.
"I don't very much like going to meeting in which my attendance is not required. In other words, waiting for you to wake up sounded like a much better idea than sitting in a room full of boring people."
Rey was not sure how to feel about Kylo Ren waiting for her to wake up. But she dismissed it as Kylo Ren disliking meetings. She began to eat the food in front of her while Kylo Ren meticulously watched her. He scrolled through a holobook that was resting on the table when she first walked in occasionally, but stared at her most of the time. Rey tried to ignore it, but she became very self conscious from his cold stare.
"What?" She finally asked, setting her fork down.
"What?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Why do you keep staring at me?" She asked rather harshly. Her question made Ren's cheeks go a little red and Rey felt uneasy.
"I'm not. But if you'd rather eat alone, be my guest." He stood from the table and stalked out the door. His walk was very aggressive and uncoordinated reminding Rey of the loose canon that is Kylo Ren. She felt a little bad about sending Ren running away, but she was also relieved to eat in peace. She finished the rest of her food which consisted of muffins and various kinds of fruits, the droid picked up the plate and Rey found herself confused of what to do now. She had to schedule she was aware of, and she had no one to tell her if she was needed in a meeting right now. She honestly had no idea of what to do, maybe she should not have sent Kylo Ren away after all.
Rey left the dining hall and walked into a large foyer of sorts. It had very tall ceilings lined with white metallic walls, the ground was black marble and made the room feel cold. Along every wall there was expanding windows allowing you to see for miles. She felt very out of place here,
"Rey?" Leia Organa's voice relaxed Rey, maybe she would know what is going on.
"General." Rey nodded at the kind woman,
"How was yesterday's meeting?" Rey looked to the floor and responded,
"I'm not sure, your son is a hard person to read. I think he understands where the Resistance is coming from, but his opinion is hard to change." Leia nodded and looked vaguely sad,
"Yes, he has always been like that. He's a stoic person who's opinion does not waver easily. I'm sure he will come around eventually, especially to you." Leia gave a warm smile and placed a hand on her shoulder,
"I will see you at 17 hundred hours, we have a briefing for the resistance scheduled then. But for now, Rey, I don't believe you have anywhere to be. Go, wander. Look around the base. I'm sure as you've seen its a beautiful hunk of metal." Rey smiled,
"Yes, it sure is."
Leia scampered away and Rey stood alone, again. She sighed and walked back towards her quarters. Along the way, she found herself stiffening at the sight of stormtroopers. They seemed to not acknowledge her, but she could sense their uncomfortableness. As she walked, she saw a more unsettling face. General Hux walked smoothly and quickly through the halls, but when he noticed Rey, he stopped. His face twisted into a maniacal grin,
"Ah, Rey. The girl who is responsible for destroying my First Order base, and reputation." Hux had seen Rey since being here, but never spoken directly to her,
"I- I'm not responsible for anything." She stuttered but looked sternly up at the tall man,
"We will see about that, scavenger."
"Hux." A strong metallic voice came from besides Rey. Kylo Ren had walked up besides Rey and stopped before General Hux,
"I believe you are needed in room 67B right now. Why don't you leave the girl alone and hurry along." Kylo Ren demanded,
"My apologies, Rey." General Hux sneered and walked away giving her a passing glance.
"General Hux has been led to believe he is a pivotal person to the First Order. I apologize on behalf of his arrogance."
"That's okay. He never liked me much anyways."
"I believe the problem is he likes you far too much." Kylo Ren murmured under his breath,
"I don't have any thing to do today. Would you like to come to my quarters with me?" Rey heard herself speak before she processed what she was suggesting, her face turned bright red and she stuttered,
"I don't mean- I don't mean to suggest..." She chewed on the inside of her cheek and fished Ren didn't have that damn mask on so she could read his face. He didn't say anything for a long time which made Rey become increasingly nervous,
"Very well." Rey was surprised to hear his answer, she wondered if Kylo Ren had regretted their kiss. Apparently, he did not. They walked back to her quarters side by side without saying a word, Rey wondered why she asked him to accompany her. Any normal person would go find their actual friends, look Poe and Finn, but for some reason Rey would rather be with Ren right now. She tried to tell herself it wasn't because she was attracted to him, but even the way he was walking made her head dizzy. It was uncontrolled and clumsy but oh so attractive.
They arrived to her quarters and Rey strolled in with Ren following behind. He took his gloves and mask off immediately, setting them on the table beside the door. Rey nervously sat on one of the two chairs in the room and Ren sat in the other. The chairs faced outwards but were tilted enough so she could still see him.
"Why do you wear that mask?" She asked, he seemed to think about the question as he pushed his fingers through his hair,
"It gives me a leg up on opponents. They can't tell what I'm thinking this way." He motioned to his helmet,
"Why do you wear it around General Hux and Captain Phasma then?" She hope slowly hoping to not offended him,
"If they know what I look like, they will know who I am. Even my age is a concern, if they know I'm younger than them, they would foolishly look down upon me. If I keep my identity a secret they will respect me more."
"That's interesting. I suppose it makes sense, fear is not always necessarily a bad thing."
"That's right. But.. I don't- never mind" he stumbled over his words which was very out of character,
"But what?" She leaned forwards and rested her elbows on the arm rest,
"But... I don't wish to scare you Rey. Don't be afraid of me." He spoke smoothly and moved closer to her, opening his mouth a little. His breathe was shaky as he reached a hand out to her cheek. He pushed a hair behind her ear and placed a warm, firm hand on her cheek.
"You don't scare me." She flicked her eyes from his lips to his eyes, but found herself looking at his lips again. She bit her own lip before pushing her lips against his.
He tasted like oak and rich whiskey. It was warm and dark and tasted so very good. She kissed his lips repeatedly before pushing her tongue in his mouth, granting a small groan from Ren. Rey found the separate chairs veg inconvenient, so she removed her lips and stood from the chair. He leaned back in his chair not taking his gaze from her eyes as she sat down onto his lap. He pressed his forehead against hers and stared at her for another moment,
"You're staring again." She whispered with a smirk,
"You're simply too beautiful for your own good. I can't help myself."
Rey placed her hands on the nape of his neck and he placed his on the small of her back. She kissed him more frantically and forcefully, tasting every inch of his mouth. She felt a hard bulge pushing against her stomach and feeling a little adventurous, she grounded her hips against him causing him to moan into her lips. She smiled and continued grinding, she honestly liked giving him pleasure like that.
"Do you want to do this Rey?" Ren asked breathlessly,
"Yes. I'm not afraid of you."
"Okay." He practically growled.
Stood up and wrenched him tunic and undershirt off his head, leaving him in only his tight, black pants. His erection was very noticeable through them. Ren walked to her and picked her up, she wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed his neck as he walked her to her bed. He laid her on her back with a 'thud'. He looked down upon her with so much hunger and passion in his eyes, Rey felt herself getting wet at the sight.
Ren leaned over her and carefully placed kisses along her neck and down to her collar bones. He placed a hand on either side of her waist and pulled her shirt up and over her head. Rey took it upon herself to unclasp her black bra and let it fall to the ground. Ren continued kissing down her chest and stopped on one nipple, sucking gently while massaging the other. Rey arched her back and moaned into his ear. She laced her fingers into her hair and pulled gently, Ren moved his hand down her stomach and to the waistband of her leggings. He pulled them down and tossed them aside. He stood and stared at the completely naked girl laying on her bed,
"Beautiful." He mumbled, making Rey blush. She sat up on her elbows and Ren walked back over to her.
Ren knelt on the bed next to her and slipped a finger into her wet slit. He pumped his finger while kissing her slowly and passionately. He added another finger, and another. Rey could feel herself building towards an orgasm and whimpered softly letting him know she would come soon. He immediately removed his fingers leaving Rey feeling empty and wanting more. Kylo Ren stepped away and removed his trousers and underwear. His erection laid against his stomach making Rey wonder if he was going to burst. Ren put his hand behind her back and the other on her shoulder. He lined up to her entrance and hesitated,
"I'll try not to hurt you..." He said,
"You won't. I trust you." She whispered in between kisses on his neck.
Ren pushed into her granting a moan from Rey. She rolled her head back as he pumped into her painfully slowly. She felt pain at first, but did not want to stop. Underneath the pain she could feel pleasure, it was slight but it was there. He continued to move feeling Rey expand under him. After a few more pumps the pain almost completely subsided and she panted,
"Faster.." She breathlessly moaned and Ren couldn't help but smile.
He obliged and moved in and out of her at a much faster pace. He grunted occasionally and Rey whispered profanities into his ear. Her pleasure was building quickly and she felt like she was floating when Ren placed a hand between them and rubbed at her nub. His thrusts became sloppy and he started to slam into her more forcefully,
"You need... to come, before I do..." Ren grunted against her neck while slamming into her. She obliged and felt her orgasm wash over her like a warm blanket.
Ren pulled out and came onto her chest. She couldn't care much now about the mess, she was a tired, happy ball of pleasure. She couldn't help but laugh when Ren fell next to her and breathed heavily.
"Why are you laughing?" Ren asked frantically while sitting up on his side,
"I'm not, I'm not. Well, I am." She giggled again, "That just felt really good."
Ren sighed feeling relieved she was not laughing at him. He shook his head and laughed along with her. Rey rolled on top of him and straddled his waist. Ren had the chance to admire how pretty she looked with sweat dripping down her face and her hair a wavy mess atop her head. He grabbed her arms and pulled her down on top of him. She laid against him and stroked her back for what felt like hours. There was no talking nor moving except for Rey's pleasant humming. Ren placed kisses on top of her head and spoke softly,
"You might be right, Rey. It's no fun to be all dark all the time."
