We cut to the people of Alderaan, both human and gungan, cheering as Nute Gunray was being lead out of the palace in chains. Alderaan had been liberated.

Boss Nass walked over to Padmé.

"Maybe you're right, Senator. Together, both our races were able to come together to stop this threat. Maybe there can be peace between us after all." he admitted.

Padmé smiled as they both looked at the human and gungan civilians celebrating and dancing in the streets together.

"Maybe there can be." she said.

Just then, Padmé's communicator went off.

"Padmé... are you there?" Obi-Wan's voice was heard from the device.

Padmé pulled out her communicator.

"Obi-Wan! What happened with the Sith Lord? Are you all ok? And what about Anakin? Is he alright?" Padmé asked worriedly.

"Please, just... get a medical team for Anakin." Obi-Wan said.

We then cut to Anakin waking up in the medical bay of Theed Palace. Padmé was there sitting at his side.

"Padmé?" Anakin said tiredly.

"Ani? Oh, thank the Force you're awake!" said Padmé.

Anakin sat up, and then... he remembered what happened before he passed out.

"Qui-Gon! Is he...?!" Anakin said in a panic.

Padmé looked down.

"Obi-Wan told me what happened. I'm sorry, Anakin... He's gone." she said as she looked back up at him.

Anakin began crying.

"No... No..." he whimpered.

Padmé immediately wrapped her arms around Anakin and held him close. She brushed his hair with her hand as she comforted him.

We cut to shortly after, where a number of Republic ships landed outside the palace.

A number of government officials and guards stepped out of the ships. One of those officials being Chancellor Palpatine. He walked over to Bail, Padmé, Anakin, Obi-Wan, R4, Tarpals, and Boss Nass, while some of the Chancellor's guards take Gunray away.

"Prince Bail, I am deeply sorry for the deaths of your parents. They were good people." Palpatine said.

"Thank you, Chancellor. It is now my responsibility to take their place as leader of Alderaan and to make sure something like this never happens again." said Bail, trying to fight back tears.

Palpatine then walked over to Anakin and Obi-Wan.

"I heard about Master Qui-Gon's death. You have my condolences. He was a good man." said Palpatine, pretending to care.

"It's all my fault, Chancellor. If I had just stayed at the Jedi Temple, then maybe..." Anakin said.

"Nonsense. I heard how you were able to stop the Sith Lord he was fighting with your incredible power. If not for you, then that Sith Lord may still be causing harm on this world. You did what you had to do, Anakin." Palpatine reassured him.

We cut to the lower levels beneath Theed Palace, where we see Darth Maul, missing his legs and unconscious.

Just then, we see Palpatine in his Sith robes with some battle droids finding Maul.

"Get a medial capsule. Quickly." Palpatine told the droids.

"Yes, Lord Sidious." said the droid commander.

We cut to Maul being brought back to Coruscant and in the same room Anakin was in Revenge of the Sith and on the same operating table. Maul was given some cybernetic new robot legs, and then he woke up screaming.

"Calm yourself, Lord Maul." Palpatine told him.

"Master! Those Jedi defeated me! I was supposed to kill them!!!" Maul screamed.

"It is alright, my apprentice. You have been rebuilt, stronger than ever." said Palpatine.

"But what about our plans? The war?" Maul said.

"The plans have already been set in motion. There's just one more thing for you to do." said Palpatine.

We cut to Nute Gunray in a holding cell on Coruscant. When suddenly, Maul burst into the prison and sliced his way through multiple guards and workers. He then reached Gunray's cell and cut a hole into it, with the Vicroy looking terrified at the sight of Maul.

We then cut to Padmé once again in a senator dress talking to the senate on Coruscant, finishing up showing them recordings of the invasion of Alderaan.

"Now you all know for a fact that Viceroy Gunray betrayed the Republic. With your help, we can expose the rest of the traitors and prevent any more conflict from happening." said Padmé.

But then, a gigantic hologram of Gunray appeared in the center of the room.

"You fools have no idea what you have brought upon yourselves. We Separatists will never surrender to your Republic. Already, hundreds of worlds have pledged their loyalty to us. We hereby declare war on the Republic and all it stands for. One way or another... the Republic will fall." said Gunray before the hologram disappeared.

It was silent for a moment, then the room exploded into senators arguing and not knowing what to do.

"QUIET!" Palpatine shouted.

The senate quieted down.

"It seems Viceroy Gunray has somehow escaped, but he will be brought to justice. As for his declaration of war, I'm afraid we have no other choice but to fight the Separatists." said Palpatine.

The room erupted again until Palpatine quieted them down.

"Fortunately, I have foreseen this conflict happening for some time. That's why I have secretly made a deal with the people of Kamino to create an army of clones." Palpatine explained.

The other senators were shocked by this revelation.

"You mean to tell us that you were able to get a group of cloners to create an entire army for the Republic that would be ready for war as soon as it happened? How long ago did you make this deal?" Padmé asked.

"About ten years ago, not long after I became Chancellor. I wanted the Republic to be prepared for if war ever happened, and now it has. These clones have an accelerated life span and age twice as fast as normal humans. They were bred for combat and have been provided with weapons, armor, and ships manufactured by other companies I have secretly made a deal with. Rest assured, they will help us win this war." said Palpatine.

We cut to after the senate meeting where we see Obi-Wan talking with the Jedi Council, minus Dooku who was absent, about the aftermath of the invasion of Alderaan.

"If what Viceroy Gunray has said is true, the galaxy is about to be plunged into all-out war. The invasion of Alderaan was just the beginning." said Mace Windu.

"No other choice do we have. Join this war the Jedi must. Especially if involved the Sith are." said Yoda.

"But there had to have been more than one Sith involved in this plot. The Sith Lord Obi-Wan killed couldn't have been working alone." said Mace.

"That's not all I wanted to talk to you about. Before Qui-Gon died... his last request was that I train Anakin in his place." said Obi-Wan.

The council was uncertain of this.

"Look. I don't want to train Anakin, it's his fault that Qui-Gon died. But I owe this to Qui-Gon. I'm not doing it for Anakin, I'm doing it for him." said Obi-Wan.

The council all looked at each other and nodded.

"Very well. Your apprentice Lars will be." said Yoda.

"Thank you, Master." Obi-Wan said.

"But there is one other thing. Anakin is forbidden to see his family ever again. The only reason we were going to allow him to originally is if Qui-Gon trained him. But since you'll be training instead and you don't have as much experience as Qui-Gon, the boy will not be allowed to visit his mother and brother." said Mace.

Obi-Wan was silent for a moment, then nodded.

Meanwhile, we see that Palpatine was watching the entire meeting through a hologram of the meeting that he had projected in his office. He grinned sinisterly.

Obi-Wan was on his way to see Anakin, but first he stopped in his own room and placed Qui-Gon's destroyed lightsaber and the kyber crystal in it in a box that looked very similar to the one he kept Anakin's lightsaber in in A New Hope.

We cut to Anakin in his room when there was a knock on his door. He opened it to be greeted by Obi-Wan, who was holding a rectangular box.

"May I come in?" Obi-Wan asked.

"Sure." said Anakin as he let Obi-Wan in.

"Anakin... Since Qui-Gon is gone I would like to train you as your master instead." said Obi-Wan.

Anakin surprised by this.

"Really?" he said.

"Yes. Really. But there is one condition: the only reason you were going to be allowed to still see your family is if Qui-Gon trained you, but since I'll be training you instead, you can't see your family ever again." said Obi-Wan.

Anakin looked down for a moment.

"Are you sure you still want to be a Jedi, Anakin?" Obi-Wan asked him.

Anakin was silent for a few moments, then looked back up at Obi-Wan.

"I'm sure. The galaxy's about to go to war with itself and the Republic needs as many Jedi as it can get. I want to use my power to help people." said Anakin determinedly.

"Very well. Welcome to the Jedi Order, my padawan." said Obi-Wan before handing Anakin the box, "You'll be needing these."

Anakin took the box and opened it, we don't see what's inside the box, but Anakin is clearly excited.

"Be right back." he said before going into the bathroom of his quarters.

A couple minutes later, Anakin stepped out of the bathroom wearing Jedi robes. The top part of the robes were mostly yellow, with brown leggings and black boots.

"How do I look, master?" Anakin asked.

Obi-Wan smirked.

"Like you're going to change the galaxy." he replied.

Obi-Wan and Anakin then left and headed to somewhere else when they bumped into Padmé and R4.

"Anakin, I was looking for you. There's something I need to tell you." said Padmé.

"There's something I need to tell you too, Padmé. Obi-Wan's gonna be my master instead." said Anakin.

"That's great! But I want to tell you is... I'm going to be going back to Alderaan for a while to help my people and prepare them for the war. We may not see each other again for a long time." said Padmé with a sad look on her face.

Anakin now also had a sad look on his face, but then he took Padmé's hands and smiled softly.

"This isn't goodbye. We will see each other again. I believe that." said Anakin.

Padmé smiled and then R4 rolled over to Anakin and beeped at him.

"I figured you'd like to keep R4. He really likes you and I haven't had much use for him lately. I hear some Jedi own droids, so I thought you could use one, too." said Padmé.

"Thank you, Padmé... I guess I'll see you around." said Anakin.

Padmé smiled and kissed Anakin on the cheek.

"See you around, Ani." Padmé said before leaving.

We then cut to Anakin and Obi-Wan in a room full of lightsaber parts all spread throughout the room.

"Do you still have the kyber crystal that Qui-Gon gave you?" asked Obi-Wan.

Anakin pulled out the crystal from his pocket.

"Good. Now here's the part where you create your lightsaber. Start meditating and try to concentrate. Picture your ideal lightsaber in your mind." instructed Obi-Wan.

Anakin sat down and crossed his legs, then began meditating. The kyber crystal levitated in front of him and different lightsaber parts from all across the room gathered around the crystal and began combining into a familiar looking lightsaber hilt.

When Anakin opened his eyes, he saw this lightsaber hilt levitating in front of him:

Anakin took the lightsaber and held it in his hand.

"Impressive. Each Jedi has a lightsaber hilt that's unique in one way or another. The lightsaber you created is a very rare combination." said Obi-Wan with a grin.

They then went to the Jedi Council room to speak with them.

"Where's Dooku?" Anakin asked.

"He's... left the Jedi Order. After Qui-Gon's death he said that he's done with the Jedi." said Mace.

Anakin looked at the floor sadly for a moment.

"Ready to become a Jedi are you, Anakin?" Yoda asked.

Anakin looked back up.

"I am." said Anakin.

"Then a Jedi padawan you now are. But one last thing there is. Change your last name you must." Yoda said.

"I've been thinking about that, and I think I've got a name that's perfect. Ever since I became a pilot, my brother - Owen - had a nickname he always called me. I always hated it, but now? I want it to be my new last name." said Anakin.

"The last name what is?" Yoda asked.

Anakin smirked.

"The Skywalker." he said.

Anakin switched his lightsaber on and unleashed the blue blade.

Triumphant music played... and the credits rolled.

And that's it for my version of Phantom Menace. But don't worry, I have plans for rewrites of Attack of the Clone and Revenge of the Sith also, as well as rewrites of the sequels and a few other things.

Now let me explain some things. The main protagonists of this version of the prequels are Anakin and Obi-Wan. Episode 2 will be about them being like brothers, as well as some other story elements. And Episode 3 will be that brotherly bond falling apart.
