(AU where Rex and Ashoka are young and in an academy together. Fluffy/Romance/Adorbz!)

It was Ashoka's first day in the year 3 of Academy, so she and all the other students were 10, aside from one boy. She was learning to be a Jedi, but she still needed to learn everything else, such as; History, Science, Speech, Math, and Gym, and also blaster training. 

She loved School so far, except there was one problem, a kid she hated, a clone cadet, number 7567, but he liked to be called Rex, he was a year older, but in the same grade. She hated him, he hated her, or so she thought. Ashoka thought he was loud, annoying, and smelly. As she did about most of the boys, aside from some of the training padawans. 

She was in her Gym uniform, and ready to go. She walked in, and Rex and a few of his close brothers were there, they were early, as was she. She walked past them, getting to her spot, sat down, and began reading. 

Rex watched her for a while, then turned back to his friends. After a while, the teacher came in. "Ok, everyone needs to partner up! One girl, One boy, please!" He announced. Everyone took partners, and Rex and Ashoka were left with each other. "Sir! I don't wanna be paired with him, he's a jerk to me!" Ashoka called out, "Am not!" Rex replied. "No complaining!" The teacher said sternly, Ashoka groaned and walked over by Rex.

"Look, i'm not happy about this either, but don't whine." Rex stated. Ashoka rolled her eyes, "I don't like you, you don't like me. Let's just get this over with." Ashoka said. Rex nodded, he looked a bit hurt. After their practice, they were headed to lunch. Rex was leaning in the doorway with Cody, he accidentally tripped Ashoka. Everyone in the cafeteria laughed at her, she turned teary eyes to Rex and shouted, "Why do you hate me?!" Rex tried to explain that it was an accident, but she didn't listen.

*Time skip, Year 7 of the Academy, Aged 14 and 15.*

Rex walked down the halls of the School, headed to his locker. He heard a muffled, "Stop!" and turned down the hall to see Ashoka being bullied by some other Padawan Trainees. Rex rushed over, "Hey! Knock it off!" He yelled, they turned, The boy smirked, "And what'll you do if we don't? Huh?...Clone?" Rex's fist clenched at that word. He punched him in the jaw, dislocating it. They ran away. 

He reached out a hand, and helped Ashoka up. "T-thanks...Rex.." She stuttered. She had changed over the years. But Rex knew she still hated him, or so he thought. "Uh, no problem Ashoka." He said with a small smile, he began walking away. "Hey! Wait up!" She called, and jogged to catch up with him. "Mind if i walk with you?" She asked shyly, Rex nodded with a smile. 

"I know i haven't been the nicest to you, and for that i'm sorry. But i think we should be friends!" Ashoka said, "What'd ya say?" She asked. Rex smiled, "Sounds like a great idea kid." He replied. "Hey! Your only older then me by a few months, jerk!" She mocked, "Whatever." Rex smirked. 

They walked to History, and sat beside each other. Some students were surprised to see that, it wasn't normal. Cody even question Rex after School that day. "What the hell? I thought you hated her!" "Well..i don't!" was all he had to say. 

From that day, they became inseparable. They did projects together, ate together, along with Rex's friends/Brothers. And even had sleep overs.

*Time skip, Graduation, aged 17 and 18.*

"I'm so excited!" Ashoka shouted, she stood beside Rex, in their graduation robes. Rex smiled, he didn't know why, but whenever he was around her, he always had a smile on his face. And his heart would beat fast, but he knew Ashoka didn't feel those things around him, or so he thought.

"We're still gonna be friends after all this, right?" Ashoka asked, worry in her eyes. "Of course! I would never wanna lose you as my number 1 best friend, littl'un!" He said with a wink. Ashoka giggled, and looked back. It was her turn to go up and get her diploma. "Next is...Ashoka Tano. She graduated top of her class." The voice called, Rex gave her a thumbs up and a smile. 

He applauded when she went up and was handed that roll of paper. "Next up is...Clone trooper 7567, Rex. Graduated with rank of Captain in his squad." Ashoka cheered, a little louder then she should've, but it made Rex smile. 

After the ceremony, Rex and Ashoka got changed, and sat on the bench beneath the tree in front of the school. Rex heard a sniffling sound, and looked to his left. "Ashoka? What's wrong?" Rex asked, concern laced his voice. "We're never gonna see each other again, are we?" She said, a single tear rolling down her cheek. 

"Well, i..um...I don't know." Rex said, he frowned. "I'm gonna miss you.." "I'll miss you too, littl'un." They said. They stood up at the sound of the bell, they had to get to their groups, Rex was headed to battle, and Ashoka was headed to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, to learn more on the ways of the Jedi, and Force.

"Rex, what if you die? We'll never see each other ever again!" She cried. Rex allowed a tear to escape his eye. "Don't worry, i'll stay alive for you." "Promise?" "Promise!" Rex said as he handed her a half of a friendship necklace. Ashoka smiled, and had Rex clasp around her neck. And Rex attached his to his dog tags. 

And with that, they hugged and parted ways.

*Time skip, After the battle of Christophsis, docking bay, Aged 19 and 20.*

Rex walked around the docking bay, looking over his datapad, making sure his men were doing what they were supposed to. He was now Captain of the 501st clone battalion. He looked up and saw the General, Anakin Skywalker, arguing with his old Master, General Kenobi. Rex walked over, "I don't have time for a padawan!" Anakin shouted. 

"She'll be here in a matter of moments Anakin! Your going to have to take up the responsibility." Obi-wan stated. Rex smirked beneath his helmet. A shuttle arrived, and Rex stood beside his General. The back of the shuttle opened, and out came a young Togrutan woman. Rex tilted his head a bit. She looked familiar, "You must be Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker? Right?" She asked with a sweet voice. 

"Yes, Rex show her to her barracks and give her something to do. I have matters to attend to." He said quickly and walked off abruptly. "Anakin!" Obi-wan shouted and ran after him. The girl frowned, "Eh, don't sweat it kid, he's almost always like this." Rex reassured her. She smiled, and began looking around, Rex noticed when she turned her head, she had the other half of his friendship necklace, that still hung on the dog tags beneath his armor. 

"So, what's you name?" She asked, "R-rex..my names Rex, Captain of the 501st." He stuttered and removed his helmet. She stared wide eyed. "Rex!" She shouted, "Ashoka!" They wrapped their arms around each other, Rex spun her around. "I thought i'd never see you again!" Ashoka said, "Same here, thought i'd be dead before i got to see your sweet smile again." He said with a smirk. 

"You have no idea how happy i am right now.." Rex confessed, "I've missed you...so much!" Ashoka said. Rex smiled at her, "There's just one thing i gotta get of my chest, if you don't mind." Rex said. Ashoka nodded. He leaned down and kissed her, and to his surprise, she kissed back. "I love you." They said simultaniously. They laughed and walked about, sharing stories.
