Roxy's Heart (part 1/?)
(Someone suggested I write Roxy finally having a significant other, and here I am doing it!)

Roxy had been thinking about it for a while, it had been two years since she joined the rebels and was reunited with her brothers and best friend. While she enjoyed fighting beside them again, she felt a longing within her, like she could finally let go and do her own thing. Like she could finally live again.
She walked into the briefing room of the base on Atollon, taking in her surroundings, she saw Rex and Ahsoka talking with Hera Syndulla around the holo-projector. Rex turned to look at his younger sister, though she was really beginning to show her age, but thirty-something looked good on her. "Rex, Ahsoka, I need a moment with you two." said Roxy, the two nodded at the pilot, and they walked into the hall together. "What's on your mind, Vod'ika?" he asked, Roxy took a moment to gather her thoughts.
"These last couple years have been some of the best, since our days in the GAR of course, but...I feel like I spent so much time grieving or running from the law, fighting for my life, that I never really had time to live my own life, do my own thing. It's always been do this, do that, kill him, fight that war, and I feel like I'm in a place where I can finally go out and do something more rather than shooting and killing, y'know?"
Rex understood what she meant, "I may not be mentally stable, hell never have been, never will be. But I wanna go do my own thing, try to at least." she added, "Well, as much as I'll miss you, it's a good idea, you deserve to do your own thing and live a life that's your own." Rex replied. Roxy smiled and hugged her brother, "I wish you nothing but luck, Roxy" Ahsoka spoke up with a kind smile upon her features.
"Thank you." Roxy said with nothing honesty in her voice. "I think it's best I leave soon, otherwise I might change my mind."
So, Roxy pulled the pair into a hug and began walking to her quarters to pack, and Ezra walked in. "What can I do for you, kid? I'm a bit busy." She said, not taking her eyes off packing her belongings, "Where are you going?" asked the padawan, "I'm....leaving for a while. Not forever, just until I feel like I've lived enough." She explained. "I'll miss you." Ezra said, "I know kid, but I will come back." She replied.
There wasn't going to be any farewell party, just everyone seeing Roxy off as she embarked on her own adventure. She had everything that she would need packed in her trunk, and it was on her ship. She figured she'd be living out of her ship for a while, so she made sure she packed plenty of provisions. She stepped off the ship to a teary eyed Rex, she gave him a sad smile, but an idea came to mind. "Here." She said as she held out one of her blaster pistols, "You take one of mine, and I take one of yours. That way we always have a piece of each other." She explained, Rex did as she said and hugged her as tight as he could.
She hugged Ahsoka, and bid farewell to all the rest of her friends, she took one last look at them, and waved before shutting the door of her ship and heading to the cockpit. The engines whirred to life, and she took off, heading wherever she felt. She didn't cry leaving her family this time, because she wasn't leaving them this time, not really.
After a week, Roxy finally stopped on Tatooine, she wasn't too worried about bounty hunters anymore, seeing as it had been years since The Siege of Madalore. Plus she looked a bit different then she did back then, and she wore a scarf to hide a portion of her face anyways.
She was buying produce from a market stall in the outer parts of the city, when she felt something, it was like she was being watched, or followed. She took an innocent glance around, no one looking particularly out of place, for Tatooine that is, so she paid the shop keeper and walked away, still having the feeling, she turned down an alley, if she was going to kick someone's ass into next week better to do it somewhere she won't get in trouble.
She felt a hand on her shoulder, and she spun around, dropping her fruits, and grabbing her stalker by the arm and twisting it back, she kicked their legs out from under them, and turned the culprit over, and straddled them with her legs, prohibiting them from going anywhere. She pulled the mask away from the persons face, it was a young man, in his early thirties, with shoulder length black hair, and blue eyes that looked tired. He was wearing dark colored clothes, armed with a pistol and sniper.
"Bounty Hunter" She spat, "Don't insult me, you scum. I'm no bounty hunter." He hissed back with a deepish voice, resembling Wolffe's but without the accent. He struggled beneath her, but Roxy didn't let up. She held his arms down and prayed no one saw them. "Then what the kriff are you?" She swore, "I don't have to tell you shit." "You might wanna rethink that answer, and didn't your mother ever tell you it was rude to swear in the presence of a lady?" She asked sarcastically. "You're anything but a lady." the man replied, "You better start talking, because I will not hesitate to kill you." She threatened.
"Just let me up, and I'll tell you what you want to know." he offered, Roxy took his weapons, and let him up, and shoved him against a wall. "Start spillin' shabuir."
He gave her a look of disgust, but complied. "I'm not a bounty hunter, I'm an assassin for the Empire. It's been my mission to kill you, but you've eluded the Empire for so long, but now I've got you." He explained, "You've got me?" Roxy replied with a cock of her brow. He scowled, "Oh, honey you've got that very wrong." She started, "So, how big is it? My bounty?" She asked, he hesitated to answer, "four million credits, because you've been on the market for so long, your bounty has only increased over the last decade and a half." he replied.
Roxy let out a dry chuckle, "Damn, didn't think the Empire would want me that bad.", "Why wouldn't they want a traitor, a deserter, a murdered." he replied, "I'm not a traitor or a deserter!" She tightened her grip on his throat, "I was in the GAR, and I never once thought about leaving, and the only reason I did was because your precious Chancellor kriffing lied and forced my Vod to kill the Jedi!" She whisper-shouted.
"You defend yourself on that, but not the murderer part, huh?" He snarked, "How do you know about my past anyways?" "Records tell me everything, just a bit of light reading, Roxy Jaig, or should I say, Roxy Jaxlyn.", Roxy took a sharp inhale at her real last name, she hadn't heard that in decades. "That's right, I know everything about you, abused, a killer, raised by clones." He began, Roxy cut him off by punching him in the jaw, and another fight began.
He landed a punch on Roxy, right in the gut, she bent over a bit but recovered in time to stop him from kicking her, she dodged it and was able to swing herself onto his back, and held her arm around his neck, squeezing, he pulled of her arms and threw her to the ground, and scrambled to punch her, Roxy was finally able to get her legs around his neck and pulled him down on top of her, and squeezed his neck between her thighs.
Something in her made her stop, she let him go and stood before him, when he finally got to his feet he looked confused, "I'm not like you, not anymore." was all she said before smacking him unconscious with the stock of his sniper. She broke his weapons and was about to leave but she turned back, seeing Jawa's ready to rob him. "Damn it." She said, and hoisted him up.
When he woke up, he was in a bed in a small motel, more confused than before.
Roxy left him there and went back to buy more fruits and get back to her ship, she decided against calling Rex, seeing as she was bruised and cut up. She fixed her bloody nose and split lip, and took in her surroundings of her ship as she sat on her pull-out bed. "First day back out alone, and I get into a fight...that sounds right." She mumbled to herself.
She ended up calling Rex, but over comm and not holo, she just wanted to hear his voice again, even if it had only been four days since they last spoke. "So, you're on Tatooine, eh? Didn't peg you as a sand kinda girl, more like a Kamino, rainy kinda gal." He chuckled, "It's so hot here, I hate it!" She laughed, "But, I'm gonna stay for a while, probably not a good idea, it's not very safe for me with all the bounty hunters an what not, but I'm no hut'uun." She told him.
"Well, if you need anything, I'll come kick ass for you, that is if you can't handle it yourself." He joked, she thought about telling him, deciding against it, she instead told him about all the exotic fruits and liquors she had bought. "You'd better save some of those for me" Rex told her. After a while, Rex had to get back to work, and Roxy needed to rest.
She laid in her cot, and thought back to that assassin, abusive parents and abandonment had led her to bounty hunting, what had led that man to being a killer for the Empire of all people. She allowed her mind to wander and she drifted off to sleep, thoughts of home, the fight, and how that man knew so much flitted through her mind.
Unknown to her, he would know more, as he had put a tracking device on her during the fight.
