Chapter 1 - Fate

A/N this is in the third person I'll let u know if it's in anyone's pov. I love you my loth-kittens. Now back to the story

It was only 5:00 pm, but the skies were black as midnight as the princess' imperial transport shuttle approached Lothal. The planet was like a marble, its swirling colors of blue, gold, and white seeming to give off a light of their own. In the cockpit, a figure stepped into the light, revealing the princess in a beautiful deep blue, silver and pale green velvet and satin gown. It was adorned with several rubies, sapphires, peridots, garnets, topaz, opals, and in the center of her chest a gorgeous, extravagantly cut amethyst kyber crystal framed with gold.

(A/N) The gown is styled like this one :

But the princess is wearing a shawl over her shoulders. So just imagine what it would look like in those colors, and with those gems all over it. Anyway, on with the story!

"Pilot, how long do you intend to take to take to us Lothal?! We've been right in front of it for over twenty minutes!", the princess shouted, agitated. "Sorry your Majesty, the blockade needs to confirm that we have the correct shuttle and that all of our information checks out.", the pilot answered. "Well you may have all the time in the galaxy, but I, however, do not.", she said leaning between the two pilots. She was getting more and more irritated with this pilot, finding it harder by the second to restrain herself from punching him in the jaw. Composing herself, she pressed a button on the control panel. Almost immediately they heard Admiral Constantine, who was currently overseeing the blockade. "Yes pilot, what is it?", the admiral said through the communication speaker. "This is the princess, Admiral.", the princess answered, rather sharply. "Ah yes, how may I be of service, your highness", he said with a confident smile in his voice. "Well", she continued harshly," you can start by letting my ship through this lousy excuse for a blockade!", she yelled. The Admiral's confidence disappeared instantly. "Y-y-your highness, with a-all due r-r-respect, there are certain procedures and... I..... well.....", he finally managed to stammer. "Well what!?, the princess shouted. But he only continued to stammer, growing fearful of her in this state. "Spit it out already you idiot!", she yelled, her patience wearing dangerously thin. "One moment please.", the Admiral said, finally. About a minute later, he came back and said, "You're clear to pass. Welcome to Lothal, Princess.", his confidence returned. The Princess, having calmed down, said into the com speaker, "Thank you, Admiral. That will be all." She released the button and left the cockpit. And as she walked toward the entrance ramp with as much grace and beauty as the rarest crystal peacock Naboo had to offer, each one of her ladies, handmaidens, attendants, and escorts watched with the unmistakable expression of respect and admiration on their faces. They landed soon after. And that's when things took a turn for the worse.

~At the same time as the approach~

It was just another day for the rebels. Another day, another bite to take out of the Empire. Four of them were sitting in the common room. Sabine was repainting her armor, Ezra was levitating his cadet helmet, and Chopper was rolling around bragging about how he beat Zeb at holochess for the third time in a row. "Warh mikboipoka!", Chopper beeped. "Give it a rest Chop.", Ezra said putting down his helmet. He'd had enough out of that second rate bucket of bolts. Just then Kanan and Hera entered the common room. "Alright, everyone listen up. We have a new mission.", Hera said. "What kind of mission?", asked Ezra. "We'll be stealing some weapons, supplies, and a little... surprise.", Kanan answered for her. He paused for a second as if trying to find the right words. "What kind of surprise?", said Sabine, her voice laced with worry. "Turn on the holonet and you'll see", Hera replied. Curious, Sabine flicked a switch on the dejark table (is that how you spell it?), turning on the holonews. Alton Kastle, the Imperial News anchor for Lothal, appeared in the hologram. "Citizens of Lothal", Kastle started, "I'm sure you're all bustling with excitement over our honored visitor to Lothal.", he said with a cheeky grin on his face. "Ok, that didn't explain anything.", Ezra said, confused. "Just wait for it", Kanan smirked. "Yes, we should all be excited as her Majesty Princess Zerabella Organa's shuttle should touch down in Capital City in just 15 short minutes.", was the only other thing heard before Sabine turned off the projector. "Surprise.", Hera said quietly with a small smile. "Wait, that's the surprise we're stealing? Are you insane!?", Ezra practically screamed at her. Everyone just stared at him, shocked by his sudden outburst before he ran out of the common room into his cabin, locking the door behind him. A disturbing silence took his place. Hera looked down, a look of solemn regret on her face while Kanan tried to comfort her. Sabine was wondering why he got so worked up over a girl that wasn't her. 'Oh, my force, I'm losing my mind', she thought to herself. Zeb just sat there, shocked the kid the guts to yell at Hera. No one yelled at Hera, ever. Chopper just rolled out of the room and down the hall. He stopped in front Zeb and Ezra's shared room and knocked quietly on the door with his small mechanical arm. Recognizing the sound of metal on metal, Ezra knew it was Chopper so he unlocked the door and let him in. "Listen, Chop, I know what you're here for and I'm really not in the mood for a pep talk right now.", Ezra said, his voice a mix of both relief and annoyance now that Chopper was there. "Wah-wah-waah!", Chopper said in binary. "No! I might be upset about the mission, but I'm not gonna tell them why, ok?!", Ezra said back.

Sabine's Pov

Hera seemed to snap out of her stupor and said she wanted us ready to leave for the mission in ten, so I decided to try and tell Ezra. I expected the door to be locked but it was wide open. When I peeked inside, I saw Ezra on the floor talking to Chopper. "Look, Chop, I've made up my up my mind. I'm not telling them and that's final!", he said. Chopper just beeped in defeat. "Not telling who what?", I asked curiously. When Ezra looked over to the door he almost fell over. "Oh, S-Sabine. Nothing, i-it's personal.", he said. I wasn't convinced but I figured I could ask him again later. "Hera said she wants us ready to leave for the mission in ten. You're still coming right?", I said. Kriff why did I ask him that!

"No.........yes...maybe, I don't know! Does it really matter?"

"Yes, it matters. You're essential to this mission. If you don't come, we're going in blind!"

"And why exactly am I essential to the mission?"

"You know this entire city better than any of us, inside and out, including the spaceport. We need you."

"Well, what if I don't like the mission?"

"What do you mean?"

"When  I lived on the streets, I would watch people being taken from their families, being bought and sold like property. So excuse me if I'm not entirely comfortable with stealing a person."

"Ezra, it's not like that. We aren't really stealing her."

"Oh no. We're just kidnapping her."

"Why is this such an issue for you? Why are you so worked up over this? Why cant you..."

"IT DOESN'T MATTER! ....................It doesn't matter, Sabine."

"You know what, fine. You don't what to talk about it, don't talk. You don't want to like the mission, don't like it. But the bottom line is, you are the best chance we have of getting in that spaceport with the minimal amount of issues. So like it or not, we need you, and if you don't come we might fail."

He just looked at me with a solemn expression, as if he were thinking of how to respond to what I had just said. I was about to walk out of the room when finally he said something.

"Tell Hera I'll be ready in five."

"Will do", I said and walked out. I reentered the common room where the others were waiting. "Ezra said he'd be ready for the mission in five."

"Really? I thought he wouldn't be going", Hera said with a shocked look on her face. "Yeah, really.", I told her. " Good. In that case, final checks, everyone! Make sure you get everything you need for the mission.", she said, smiling. After that, we got into the phantom and took off. Chopper had stayed behind to watch after the ship in case there was any unexpected Imperial activity. We were silent the whole time until we landed outside the spaceport.

"Alright, everyone remembers the plan, right?", Kanan asked. "I go in through the vents, get to the landing bay, and tell you what we're up against." Ezra started. "We blow the door, then you and I take out any storm troopers we have to deal with.", Zeb said next. "I distract the rest of them with the explosives while Ezra grabs the princess.", I said. "And I spirit you away in the phantom", Hera finished. "I'll take that as a yes.", Kanan said sarcastically.

Ezra's POV

I exited the phantom, hoping the knot in my stomach would go away.

It didn't.

I found a vent and crawled through until I found bay 19. I opened the vent and jumped down to the ground. There were 12 stormtroopers on the perimeter, 3 in front of the bay doors, and 2 on either side of the ship. Who knew she would have such high security. "Kanan, I'm in", I said through the comm. "Good, what's the damage?", he asked. "12 on the perimeter, 3 on the doors, and 8 on the ship", I told him. "Perfect", he replied sarcastically. "We'll be there in a second", he said. "Copy that. Spectre-6 standing by.", I answered. No sooner than I put my comm away, the doors blew open. Sabine, Kanan, and Zeb rushed in, weapons drawn. Stormtroopers ran towards them and were met with stun blasts. As the firefight continued on, I snuck up to the ship, where the princess was screaming her lungs out. It hurt me to see her so afraid, but I knew if I disobeyed orders I would have to explain myself sooner rather than later. And that's not really something I want to do at this point. I reached the ramp, and jumped up behind her, the blaster of my saber pointed towards her shoulder. By now she was in tears, begging me not to kill her. That wasn't my intention, and it pained me for her to think so. When the blaster shots were dying down, I positioned my finger on the trigger. "Sorry, Sis", I whispered to her, and with that, I stunned her.

A/N: Ok so that is chapter one. I am extremely sorry that this was so late. But I've had a lot to deal with school and family and everything. I'm not sure when the next chapter will be posted but I will try to get it up for you guys as soon as I can. Anyway, that's all for now, I love you my lothkittens. And until next time, May The Force Be With You, Always. [;{P
