Chapter 20: The Darkside
Third POV
It has been a couple hours since the last interrogation. The Inquisitor gazed sternly at the ghost crew, that were unconscious on the metal tables. The Inquisitor had no detail on where the rebellion is or where there whereabouts are now. Frustrated from lack of intel he walked over to a white table that held a tray of black liquid. He tried this serum on the young padawan, who he hoped to be his apprentice soon, and now he was going to try it on the Jedi, known as Kanan Jarrus.
The Inquisitor looked at the door that was guarded by two stormtroopers.
"Guards awake them." The Inquisitor ordered.
The troopers scurried off to the machine attached to the metal tables. Both troopers pressed a couple of buttons as they pulled the lever. The once quiet imperial cell was awakened too blood-chilling screams from ever last one of the ghost crew members. The Inquisitor motioned for the stormtroopers to stop as he heard his prisoners moan in pain.
"Hello rebels." The Inquisitor smirked as he grabbed the vile of liquid off of the tray. "We have much planned for you today."
Ezra POV
I stared wide eyed at the Inquisitor as he and Kanan gave death glares from across the room. Both Jedi and Sith were in one room together. This is not going to end well.
The Inquisitor stalked towards Kanan, as my master tried his very best to inch himself away from the corrupt man. Silent. Everything and everyone were silent, as if someone moved, they would die. To be honest right now I was holding my breath, I was too afraid the the Inquisitor would hurt Kanan or anyone else in this room(besides the stormtroopers.)
"Now Kanan Jarrus," the Inquisitor hissed as he backed away a little bit. "Do you know what this is?" He held a vile filled with black serum in it. Kanan did not respond. I squinted my eyes as I looked a little closer. Immediately I remembered what it was.
Images traveled through my head as I remembered seeing my friends die along with them telling me that I was useless and pathetic. You know the usual Empire stuff, with messing with people's brains. That black serum was to make you see your worst fears. And how I know, is because I tried it. It was terrible!
"Well my apprentice remembers what it is. Don't you Ezra." The Inquisitor eyed me along with everyone else in the room.
I harshly looked at he Inquisitor as he only smirked. I looked back at my friends who stared at me worriedly. Immediately I knew what my friends were thinking: What did this kid go through? I smiled sheepishly at my friends as they gave me another worried glance.
"This serum makes you feel torture mentally and physically." The Inquisitor turned around as he studied the vile filled with the serum. "You will see your worst fears come to life."
My friends looked at me with shock, as I just tried to ignore their staring.
"He used that on you?" Kanan asked me quietly so the Inquisitor could not here.
"No." I reply. Kanan raised his eyebrow.
"Okay maybe he did." I confessed. I swear I thought Kanan's face got paler as he he eyed me protectively.
"And now rebels," The Inquisitor hissed as he turned back around and walked in a semi-circle. "We are going to try this serum on the Jedi."
"Wait what!" I blurted out. Seeing my friends die and abandoning me was terrible to hear and see. I can't imagine what Kanan would see and what his fears are as I thought back to Order 66.
"You can't do that!" Hera disagreed.
"I believe I can. There is always sacrifice in war." The Inquisitor growled.
The Inquisitor was going to try the serum on Kanan! I can not let this happen. Kanan was like a father figure, in some sorts, and over the past two years, Kanan and I have grown a strong bond and I care deeply much for him. And no one messes with a padawan or with their master ever.
"You can't!" I stated.
"Oh my young apprentice." The Inquisitor laughed as he ruffled my hair. Immediately I tried to pull my head away. Kanan just looked at the Inquisitor with disgust. "Your old master will feel the same pain that you went through."
"No." I whispered.
I can't let anything happen to Kanan. And I won't let anything happen to him.
"And he will see his worst fears." The Inquisitor hissed into my ear.
"No." I muttered. "I won't fail Kanan."
"But you already have." The Inquisitor whispered as he stepped away from me.
The Inquisitor inched his way closer to Kanan holding the injection tube in one hand.
"Stop it!" Sabine begged.
"Don't do it on him!" Zeb said.
"Please don't!" Hera begged.
The tip of the injected tube(vile) was a couple inches away from Kanan's face. Kanan showed no fear.
"No. No. I can't let his happen." I whisper so no one else can here. I failed him! I failed him!
Anger started to boil up inside of me, as I wanted to protect Kanan. I have not failed him not this time. "I WON'T LET YOU HURT HIM!" I yell while breaking out of my restraints.
A giant wave was blasted as the stormtroopers were thrown to the wall and falling limp onto the ground. This caught the attention of the Inquisitor as he lowered the vile filled with the serum. My friends faces were confused and shock as they saw me break away from the straps.
I was filled with anger and hate and I was doing it to protect my friends and to destroy the Inquisitor! I lifted my right arm forward as I stumbled onto the ground and off the medal table. My wounds were hurting a lot but somehow I ignored it. Even though I could feel blood flowing down my legs and a little on my arms.
I used the force to lift the Inquisitor in the air. The Inquisitor's hands reached towards his lungs as he started to grasp for air. His face was filled with worry as he was loosing oxygen. I felt the power of the dark-side start to overcome me! I squeezed my fists tighter as the Inquisitor would soon die for everything that he has done to me, my friends, my parents, and to the rebellion. Anger flowed more rapidly as my friends were to shock to say anything, they had no idea how I exactly broke free, but I knew Kanan did. It was the dark-side.
"Ezra stop! Don't do this!" Kanan yelled over the Inquisitor's coughing.
I ignored his comment as more hate and anger towards the Inquisitor started to over-flow.
"Ezra don't do this! Please stop!" Kanan begged.
I stared at Kanan for a quick moment. My once electric blue eyes were filled with the golden yellow. The golden yellow color of a Sith's eyes. The power of the darkside was quickening! I could feel in the force that the Inquisitor was slowly coming up to his last breath. I sneered for the Inquisitor would soon be dead and that there would be less scum in this galaxy.
"Ezra please come back to us! We need you...I need you. Please stop it!" Kanan cried out.
I suddenly realized what I was doing as I let go of the Inquisitor. He dropped to the floor unconscious as I just stared at my own two hands. I just did that! I just used the dark-side on accident! I dropped to my knees as the imperial cell started to seem dizzy! I fell onto the floor as my eyelids slowly started to shut. Oh my gosh I just used the dark-side! Kanan is going to kill me when I wake back up!
