This is going to my last post of the year!!! I want to thank everyone who commented and voted for all of my stories. You guys are amazing and I appreciate all of you.

NPOV

Kanan smiled as Ezra cooed playing with his teething ring. It had been a long day at work and the young father was happy to holding his baby in his arms.

"I love you," the teen whispered placing a kiss on the boy's head.

Ezra giggled tapping his ring against Kanan's bare leg.

"Ewwww EJ, no," Kanan whined placing the toddler onto the play mat.

"He's a baby Kanan, he doesn't know any better," Janus said stepping in from the kitchen after hearing the commotion.

"I know, but that doesn't mean I want slobber all over me," Kanan said grabbing a hand towel and wiping his leg off.

Ezra didn't seem to like being set aside and threw his ring at Kanan's head. Working off instinct the teen stopped the ring in mid air. After realizing what he was doing, Kanan dropped the ring and scrambled away from the two.

"Whoa," Janus breathed picking up the baby.

"I..I..I can explain," Kanan tried to talk but his racing heart made it hard.

"I thought they were all wiped out," Janus replied as loud banging could be heard.

Kanan stared fearfully at the former pirate not sure what to do. Before either of them could act the door busted open and storm troopers filed in.

"Caleb Dume, you are under arrest for treason against the Empire," the head officer said as two troopers hauled the teen to his feet.

"But...but...you can't do this! I haven't done anything!" Kanan cried out as he struggled to get away from the soldiers.

"You are a Jedi, close enough. Take him away and execute him," the officer replied.

As they began to drag him off, Kanan struggled harder but froze when he saw one of the troopers raise a blaster and fire, killing both Ezra and Janus.

"NOO!"

Reality

"NOO!" Kanan yelped jerking awake, fighting the hands that were holding him.

"Kanan! Kanan, Kid it's alright. Wake up!" A gruff voice ordered.

"Ezra," he croaked. "Baby no!"

"Easy Kanan, it was just a dream," the voice said again.

The teen coughed harshly before groaning.

"Shh...it's alright."

"Janus?" Kanan whispered trying to get his bearings. 

"Yeah Kid, it's alright. You're safe, Ezra's safe, it's okay," Janus Kasmir said grabbing a cool cloth and placing it on Kanan's forehead.

"Ezra..." the boy called softly making the old pirate's heart clinch.

"Shh..." he said taking Kanan's hand and giving it a squeeze. "It was a nightmare. Ezra is safe in my room, sleeping like the little Ewok he is."

"Ezra's an Ewok?" Kanan asked.

"Yup, cute and cuddly until he gets fussy and then...well...you get the picture," Janus chuckled.

"Yeah but something else too," Kanan said having a hard time keeping his eyes open.

"What's that?" The man asked.

"He's my Little Light. Every time I think about doing something stupid, I think about Ezra and how I might lose him or how he might do the same thing and go down the wrong path. I love him so much, I just...I just..."

"Shh..." Janus soothed running a hand through his boy's hair. "Take it easy. You are a good father and yeah you're gonna make a few mistakes but just remember to learn from them."

"Is that what you did?" Kanan asked. "Learned from your mistakes?"

"Yeah something like that," Janus said before turning serious. "Now, try to go back to sleep. You're still getting over the flu."

"I can't...nightmares," Kanan whispered tears forming at the corners of his eyes. "You and Ezra dying...no more..."

Janus sighed thinking for a moment.

"Ahh..." he said getting an idea. "Well, how about something about positive then?"

Kanan stared at him waiting for his father-figure to continue.

"I have decided that Garel is getting to crowded for our little family. I have this friend on Lothal that says that there isn't to many Imperials. Once you are well enough to travel, we are gonna pack up and move there. A good place to grow and for the Little One to learn about life."

Kanan smiled and fell asleep as he listened to Janus describe the planet and all about his plans for the future. 

I am so sorry that it is a little short but I do hope you guys enjoyed it. I have several updates that I am going to be posting hopefully tomorrow. Please let me know what you guys though and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
