A Miracle
Miracles. We can't see nor hear it. It isn't really anything yet something that we rely on in times of darkness kind of like hope.
Some may say that miracles are luck but I say they are wrong. Miracles are more than luck. I had to learn that the hard way...
---------------------------------
It started on a normal day when we were on a mission. My master, Kanan said this was a 'grab and go' mission. Let's just say, those are never the great missions cause there was always something that went wrong every time.
"Are you sure about this?" I asked Kanan when a bad feeling swept through the force. We were in the cargo bay waiting to be released to steal some supplies. "Ezra, we need credits. We are running extremely low on them," Kanan replied seriously. "Get ready," Hera said through the comm.
"Don't chicken out on us yet, kid," Zeb teased and I glared at him. "Go ruffle your fur somewhere else egg head," I said and Zeb growled at me. "Would you two stop with the horrible chicken puns?" Sabine said annoyed. "He started it," I said pointing at big, purple and smelly. Zeb rolled his eyes. I sighed aggravated with my roommate.
The two of us were still trying to get along and you can see how that's working out. Besides, this was our first mission in a long time so we all were a bit restless on the ship. The ramp started to open and I looked over at Kanan asking again, "Your positive that things won't get to out of control."
"Kid, I don't make promises but all I can say is do you trust is?" He asked and I smirked. "Well, you can't spell 'trust' without 'us' so yeah," I said slyly. Sabine face palmed and Zeb rolled his eyes. "You worry me sometimes," Kanan muttered and I just kept smiling. "That's what I do best," I said following them out onto the roof of a building.
The four of us sneaked over to the ledge and laid on our stomachs as Kanan searched for the supplies with binoculars. "They are over there," Kanan told us pointing to some crates the storm troopers were guarding. "Sabine, we're going to need a distraction," Kanan told her. "On it," Sabine replied and went to go blow up something.
After we heard the explosion, the three of us waited until security decreased. Then we ambushed the confused bucket heads and grabbed the supplies. The uncomfortable feeling grew stronger but I had to keep going.
I slowed my paste when there was something beeping. I stopped running and looked around until my eyes landed on the crate that I was pushing. My instincts kicked in and I tried to run but it was to late.
BOOM!
A powerful force of heat threw me until I hit a stone hard wall. The impact was so hard that it was difficult to move and keep my eyes open. Everything was swirling around me, yellowish, orange splotches danced around the area. Something wet and sticky was sliding down my back. I didn't have time to think of what it could be when I blacked out.
Kanan's P.O.V
It was a trap! Now I'm looking for my padawan through the fire ever since I sent Sabine and Zeb to get Hera. Ezra's crate was the one that exploded and since he was the closest means that he also was damaged severally. I needed to find him before the smoke kills or the Empire finds him. I don't want him getting tortured like I did when I was captured. What kind of master lets that happen?
"Ezra!" I called through the smoke and fire. There was no reply. Where could he be? I thought with worry rising through me. That's when I felt it, a spark that would have been missed if not carful. I quickly followed that spark to the owner.
I ran and ran until a glimpse of blue caught my eye. Good news is, I found Ezra. Bad news is, the Seventh Sister is dragging him into an imperial transport. I clenched my teeth in anger and drew my lightsaber. The Seventh Sister heard me and turned smiling. "If it isn't the master. Coming to say goodbye bye to your padawan because next time we meet he'll be my apprentice," Seven said smirking.
"Give him back or the only thing you're going back is dead," I spat at Seven. She set my padawan down and ignited her saber. "If it's a fight you want then it is a fight you get," she said. Soon, red and blue clashed in a fierce battle of life or death.
