Chapter 3 - Secrets

A/N: Finally finished Chapter 3! So sorry it took so long, writer's block was giving me hell! Hopefully you guys won't have to wait too much longer for Chapter 4.

Elena grinned, "You wanted to know how I can live in such a dangerous place? Because we're the only danger in this place."

She nodded to one of the newcomers, a girl with long, cotton candy-coloured hair that covered one of her yellow eyes, who flicked a hand at the Jedi. Several large chunks of metal that were lying nearby lifted up and wrapped tightly around the trio.

Another girl, having dark maroon eyes with slitted pupils and lilac hair tied into pigtails with pink ribbons, jumped down from her perch. She walked up to Ahsoka, curling clawed fingers around the female Jedi's throat.

"Let go of her!" Kanan and Ezra yelled in unison.

A boy with blood-red hair, olive eyes and a hooked hand sneered at them, "And what, exactly, do any o' ye plan to be doin' 'bout that?" His voice was thick with an unfamiliar accent.

"Let us go and find out!" Kanan answered.

Elena smirked at the boy with the hooked hand, "Careful Foxy, we don't want to damage them too much yet."

"Yeah," the yellow-eyed girl said, her voice having a metallic undertone, "They'll burn their vocal chords out just from yelling at you."

Foxy rolled his eyes, but backed off. A boy with ice-blue eyes and dark brown hair knelt down in front of them, "Why don't you stop with all the 'oh, it's so tragic, someone on this desolate wasteland needs our help. Let's go be the heroes and save the day!' Why are you really here?"

"We told you the truth," Ahsoka gulped, trying her best not to let the claws around her neck slice her throat open.

"Yeah, right" the boy laughed mockingly, "because that's what the Jedi do. They save people, and protect the innocent. Ha!" The rest of the group snickered as well.

"Stop lying to us," whispered a girl with long purple hair that was dyed with hearts and peace signs, "Either tell the truth right this second or I'll crack your heads open and take what we want by force. Then we can see how you can deal without having a brain."

The Jedi paled visibly at this. "Calm down Harmony," Elena said, gently moving the violet-haired girl away from the captives, "Why don't we ask them a little more nicely?" Harmony glared at the Jedi, tossing her waist-length hair over her shoulder as she stalked back to sit on a chunk of a broken wall.

"Why do you think that the Jedi are evil?" Ezra inquired.

Elena stared at him for a second, then looked at her friends, "Who wants to answer his question? He should already know what the answer is, but let's tell him anyway."

"The Jedi locked us up," a golden-eyed girl with short pink hair said, "Just because we have powers that they don't. And, what a stroke of luck that our parents were killed by the Sith by the time they came to collect us." Her lip curled, "They stuck us in cells and spent their days trying to break our minds." Then she giggled abruptly, "But they didn't know that we were already broken when they got us."

A girl with pale blond hair and silvery-blue eyes started to sing, "Everyone is crazy! Everyone is mad! But just because we're crazy, doesn't mean we're bad!" She burst into a fit of deranged laughter.

"Exactly right, Desiree!" the pink-haired girl said.

Desiree smiled evilly, "They made us sad, so we made them sad too." Her voice became demonic, "Then, we put them out of their misery."

The three Jedi gasped in horror. As Ezra surveyed the group, he couldn't help but notice that one of them, a girl with black and white eyes and messy dark blond hair, was wearing a dark yellow-gold dress that seemed to have a permanent reddish-brown tone to it.

The girl noticed Ezra staring at her and smirked, "Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer."

A girl with purple-streaked black hair giggled mischievously, "Springtrap and Ezra sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"

Springtrap blushed lightly, elbowing the other girl, "Shadow!" she muttered, "Stop that!"

Elena slapped a hand to her forehead, "Where are my manners? I forgot to introduce everybody!" She pointed to each person in turn, "That's Aria, Baby, Ballora, Bonbon, Bonnet, Bonnie, Bree, CC, Chica, Cindy, Electrobab, Ennard, Desiree, Foxy, Freddy, Goldie, Harmony, JJ, Jubilee, Lolbit, Mangle, Marion, Rose, Seraphina, Shadow, and Springtrap."

"Enough talk," Chica piped up, "you're all lying to us. Either you can stop lying and tell us the truth, or things could get....messy."

"We didn't do anything to hurt you," Ahsoka begged her.

The entire group laughed.

"Oh please," Foxy said, "that be th' worst lie ever told! Ye all be knowin' exactly what we be talkin' 'bout. Jedi like ye three be th' ones who made us into th' people we be this day." He chuckled humorlessly, "Just admit it."

"Don't you remember us?" Aria asked with a tilt of her head, "We remember you. And we know you remember us."

"We know you fear what you have made," Cindy murmured, "what we have become."

"We know you fear us." Jubilee sneered.

"You can't outrun your fears, your actions, your choices." Baby said,

Ballora smirked, "All you can do is hide."

"But in the end, you will suffer like so many others already have." Goldie snarled.

"No one survives in this place," Elena added. "What was once a place of peace and tranquility, is now a vile pit, scabbed over with the blood of the innocent. Thanks to my friends and I though, some not-so-innocent blood has been shed here as well. Now we act as guardians, protectors over this blasphemous place. Waiting for the day when, at last, we can be free of those who wish to use us as weapons to fulfill their own selfish desires."

"Are you the ones who need to die?" Marion inquired.

"Well, it really doesn't matter, does it?" Bonnie answered, "You're all here of your own free will, which means that you are not innocent. And we only spare those who are innocent."

"For you, however," Springtrap said, "we believe that suffering would do good things for your soul."

"By stepping foot in this place, you surrendered your right to live." JJ added.

The travellers were doing their best not to panic, although the knowledge that they were almost certainly going to die made it very difficult not to let it show. Bonnet noticed this and giggled.

"You're not afraid, are you?" she asked.

Bonbon smirked, "Well, maybe we should change that."

"Fear is a very powerful weapon," Bree said, trailing a finger down Ezra's face,"We know that you fear something. Everybody does. And we have plenty of time to figure out just what it is that you're afraid of. Losing your loved ones perhaps, or being consumed by your own demons. So, let's dig a little deeper."

She nodded to Harmony. The magenta-eyed girl grinned, extending a hand towards the captives. Ezra immediately winced.

"What's wrong?" Ahsoka asked.

"I can hear them in my head," Ezra said, "There's so many voices." He winced again, being able to feel all of the anger and pain that they had felt throughout their lives.

"It hurts, doesn't it?" Harmony smirked, "All of the thoughts and memories is enough to drive anyone insane. It's lucky that I have the power to shut it all out. But I can also open it up, so others can feel what I would usually feel if I couldn't block it out."

"I'm sorry," Ahsoka murmured, "I can't imagine what you must have suffered for so long."

"It's too late for your apologies," Rose smirked, "Thirty years too late."

"You're crazy." Kanan said.

Desiree smiled, "Yes we are. We're insane."

"Mad" Rose continued.

"Nuts"

"Completely bonkers."

"Off our heads."

"Around the bend."

"But if we're crazy," Lolbit interjected, "what does that make you?"

Ballora gasped lightly, eyelids fluttering rapidly over reddish-purple irises.

"What is it?" Marion asked, "What did you see?"

Ballora turned her gaze to Elena, "We'll have to cut the game short. It seems we are due for some uninvited guests." She jerked her head towards the captives.

"They're getting rescued? Now?" Seraphina said in surprise, "How long do we have?"

As if cued, the Ghost flew over the temple, landing outside.

"We have approximately two minutes before they burst in and start shooting." Ballora said, "Any ideas?"

Elena flicked her gaze towards Ezra, "Take him with us. He'll be a good bargaining chip in case we don't get to the ship in time."

The others nodded. Mangle stuck her hand out, causing Ezra to float after them as they scrambled over the rubble to their ship. Not five seconds later, the crew of the Ghost came running into the room.

"What happened?" Zeb demanded, prying the metal bindings off Kanan and Ahsoka, "Where's that kid Ezra was looking for?"

"There were....complications," Kanan answered.

"And they have Ezra," Ahsoka added, "They mentioned something about using him as a bargaining chip."

"Then let's go get him," Sabine said. They all dashed after the group of children, skidding to a stop in front of the ship. Bree was standing in front of her group, Ezra suspended in the air before her. Half of him was surrounded by white light, the other half surrounded by black light.

"Here's how it's gonna work," she called to the Rebels, "You're going to let us get on our ship and go, or else you're gonna have to fight your friend. If you mess with my concentration while he's like this, he'll fall to the darkness, in essence turning to the Dark Side."

"Let him go!" Hera yelled.

"I'm waiting for my answer!" Bree yelled back.

Hera turned to the others. "How do we get out of this?" Kanan asked, "We have to get Ezra back, but we can't let them run free like this."

"Let's agree for now, but we can follow them after they release Ezra." Hera said. She turned to Bree, "Okay!" she called.

The group of children climbed into their ship. Bree was the last to enter. As soon as the door closed, Ezra dropped to the ground.

"You okay?" Zeb asked as he freed him.

"I'll be fine." Ezra assured the group, "But we have to stop them."

The other Rebels retreated back to the Phantom and the Ghost, taking off after the group.
