Second Meeting

Here is a super long update. I hope you guys enjoy it.

NPOV

The next morning Kanan found himself holding something.

'Guess Hera finally decided to come to bed,' the man thought bringing a hand up only to be met with hair.

'What the?' He thought, his eyes flying open in a panic.

However his panic calmed seeing it was Ezra sleeping peacefully against him. Kanan smiled and placed a light kiss on his son's forehead and eased himself out of bed.

"Get some more rest Buddy, we have a lot of training to do," Kanan whispered ruffling his son's hair affectionately before leaving. Upon entering the common room, he saw Hera nursing a cup of kaff, mulling over a data pad.

Kanan POV

"Morning Hera," I said going over to the kaff machine.

She made a small grunt of response.

"Did you ever go to bed?" I asked grabbing a cup.

" I caught a few minutes of sleep in the cockpit," Hera said not looking up.

"I bet it wasn't as comfortable as sleeping in your bed," I said resisting the urge to sigh.

Again she just made a grunting noise. I shook my head and poured my kaff.

"Ezra had a nightmare, so he ended up sleeping in your spot anyway," I said and took a drink.

"He's getting to old to for stuff like that," Hera said mind still on the data pad.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked turning to her.

Hera finally looked up and gave me a hard look.

"Kanan, he is thirteen years old and he still sleeps with you. You need to make sure that he will be able to take care of himself when the time comes."

I huffed, we seemed to having this argument a lot lately. Ever since joining the fleet, she seemed to be more military and less motherly.

"Hera, I just woke up. Please don't try to tell me how to parent my child."

"He's my child too," she snapped.

I sighed and stared at her.

"Do you have any idea how stressful this fight is on him? He's only thirteen and already he has a massive target on his back. You say that sometimes I just need to ignore him but I am trying to protect him. With how strong Ezra is, the Empire will stop at nothing to get at him."

Hera went to respond when Rex walked into the room.

"Good morning," he said before frowning, sensing the tension. "Is everything okay?"

"I'm gonna go get Ezra for training," I said walking out.

NPOV

Rex turned to Hera.

"What's with him?"

"We had a disagreement," Hera said going back to her list of bases.

Rex nodded wisely choosing not to get into the middle of their couple's arguments.

Three hours later

"Okay, we are going to finish today by working on levitating Chopper," Kanan told Ezra as the two entered the common room.

"If I can, does that mean I can drop him?" Ezra asked.

"Sure," Kanan said smirking at the old droid.

Chopper started squawking in protest causing Ezra to smile.

"What? No, no, no, you no drop!"

Unfortunately the two didn't hear him. They had turned to each other talking quietly.

"Hey Chop, lock it down," Sabine whispered to the panicking droid, catching his attention.

Chopper chuckled before doing what she suggested.

The young apprentice turned back to his friend a playful smirk on his face.

"Come on Ezra, focus on the force and lift Chopper," Kanan whispered placing a hand on the teen's shoulder.

Ezra held out his hand and dove into the force. He started to picture the little droid lifting into the air but he was immediately met with resistance. Focusing harder he found the problem.

"Come on Ezra, just focus on lifting Chopper," Kanan encouraged.

"Chopper," the teen growled his eyes flying open.

Sabine and Chopper started laughing high-fiving each other.

"It's not fair, he had his feet locked down," Ezra pouted glaring up the older Jedi.

"Real battles usually aren't fair," Kanan chided gently before turning to glare at his daughter. "Sab what have I told you about messing with his training?"

"Come on Dad," Sabine laughed. "To be fair, he figured it out pretty quick that time."

"Yeah you do have a point," Kanan said as Hera came in.

"Sorry Kanan gonna have to cut training short."

"Wait a second Hera, you can' t just come in here and cut training short," the man said stepping closer to the pilot.

"I can and just did, my ship my call," she responded. "Sabine, Ezra, I have a mission for you two. Thanks to Rex's list of stations and bases I have found a place where we can salvage much needed medical supplies. Zeb and Chopper are going too," she finished before walking out the door.

"Hera!" Kanan called before walking out after her.

Ezra sighed before crossing his arms.

"Here we go again," he muttered looking at his sister

"I know, she seems to want to be a part of the rebellion more than doing what we originally set out to do," Sabine commented looking at her helmet.

Kanan POV

I can't believe her sometimes.

"Hera!" I called as I followed her into the cockpit.

"What?" She snapped.

"What was that?" I asked sitting in my seat.

"I believe it was giving Ezra and Sabine a recon and retrieval mission," she said flipping a few switches as the Phantom detached and flew off into hyper space.

I sighed in frustration giving her a defeated look.

"Hera, think about it, they are still just kids. Kids that need us to raise and guide them."

She shocked me by giving me a defeated look of her own.

"I know Kanan," she said turning back to the windshield her voice cracking slightly. "But after what happened with that sith I can't help but wonder what would happen them if something happened to us?"

Hera POV

Even voicing my fears didn't make me feel any better. I know I have been acting harsh towards everyone but I can't just sit by and watch the family I love be killed.

I felt Kanan sigh and place a hand on my shoulder turning me to face him.

"Hera," he said gently. "I understand. I worry everyday what could happen but you know what always quenches that fear?"

"What?"

"I look at what I have around me. I have two wonderful children that are becoming extraordinary people, a warrior who I am proud to call my brother, several friends who I know we can count on, and a wife who loves and adores me."

I couldn't help but scoff at the last part. Kanan grinned mischievously before planting a kiss on my nose.

"Besides being here is a lot better than working at the bar any day."

With that he walked out of the cockpit. I chuckled.

Ezra POV

I had a strange feeling as we landed inside the station. Chopper beeped his concerns.

"I know Chop, let's just find the supplies and get out of here," I said patting his dome.

Zeb shudder looking at the entrance.

"Are we sure that this is safe?"

"Come on, Mom wouldn't have sent us if there was any danger," Sabine said trying to get the door open.

"True," I said helping her.

After a few more minutes of failed attempts Zeb finally had to force the door open.

Chopper warbled lowly not liking the dark. I didn't blame him as a disturbance ran across my senses causing me to shiver.

"Well, now which way?" Zeb asked

"We keep walking until we find the command center," Sabine said highly annoyed.

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly trying to calm down.

"Ezra?"

I jumped as Sabine touched my shoulder.

"What is it?" She asked.

"I'm not sure but we need to hurry," I said as we caught up with Zeb and Chopper.

NPOV

After a few twists and turns the small troop found the command center.

"Just as I thought," Sabine said. "No power, Chopper boot it up."

The droid beeped an ok and plugged in. Suddenly the entire station came online.

"I meant this control panel, not the entire station," Sabine told him.

Chopper beeped at her in frustration. A second disturbance made the Padawan shudder.

"Hey, what's with you?" Zeb asked the boy.

"Not sure exactly but we need to hurry," Ezra siad glancing around nervously.

"Aw, what's the matter? Afraid of the dark?" Zeb chuckled teasingly.

Ezra glared at the warrior before Sabine sighed in frustration.

"I've got bad news," she said leaning against the panel. "The files are there but they are so corrupted that there is no way of knowing where the supplies are or what they are."

"I guess that means we have to do it the old fashioned way," Ezra said igniting his saber.

"Eh, worth a shot," Sabine said putting on her helmet and grabbing her flashlight.

Zeb glanced at the hallways and followed the two.

Several minutes later

After the fifth time of hitting his foot on something, Zeb had enough.

"Can't you just use your jedi powers and find the supplies," he complained.

"Nope sorry it doesn't work like that," Ezra said looking back at him. "Besides I don't need to use the force to find them before you."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Zeb snapped.

"Well, I'm smaller, faster, and younger, so that means I'm more alert,"Ezra said in a teasing tone.

In reality he looked up to his big brother. Zeb growled and went to grab the kid but Ezra slipped out of his grasp and ran ahead. Not to be bested Zeb ran after him but was knocked to the ground when a stack of crates fell on top of him.

"Hey no fair," he complained.

"Real battles usually are," Ezra laughed walking away. "Just keep your head up and nothing can..oof."

The teen didn't get to finish when he slammed into a large pipe.

"Oooww," he groaned in pain.

"You were saying," Sabine asked sarcastically.

He just glared at her.

"Come on," she said helping him to his feet.

"Thanks," Ezra said as he communicator activated by a frantic droid.

Ezra POV

Chopper was beeping so fast I could barely understand him.

"Chop slow down," I said.

I heard him sigh and start again.

"This place is creepy. Me don't want to be alone. You come back."

Sabine and I gave each other a weird look.

"Okay, we'll head back that way," I said and shut off the com.

"Back the way we came?" Sabine asked.

I looked up and spied a vent.

"Hold on I have a short cut," I said pointing.

She nodded and after a boost from Zeb we got into the vents. Only we forgot Zeb.

After a few minutes we made it back to command center and Chopper was no where to be found.

"Ugh, where is that droid?" Sabine complained.

I shrugged my shoulders when the feeling from before intensified, causing me to jerk around.

"Ezra? Ezra what is it?" Sabine asked slightly nervous.

"We're not alone," I said slowly moving toward the hallway.

"What do you  mean?" She asked.

I walked into the hallway and immediately regretted it. A small droid leapt at my face chirping menacingly. I dodged with a yelp and ignited my saber.

"Ezra!" Sabine yelled.

The droid chirped and tried another shot at my face. I dodged again, officially freaked out.

"Sab RUN!" I yelled heading for her.

Before I got to the door something grabbed my legs jerking me to the ground. I looked behind me and saw a figure ignite a red lightsaber. Looking back toward my sister, I knew what I had to do. Struggling against the droids, I force pushed Sabine back into the command center and slammed the doors shut. Kicking one of the droids off I was able to get up and slice the control panel and turned to face the figure.

"Well now, this should be fun," the figure chuckled coming closer.

Since I had no where to run or fight my way out, I allowed the droids to recapture me and my saber be taken.

"Such a handsome face," the figure said rubbing their fingers across my cheek.

The way the figure said it sounded familiar. However I didn't get a chance to ask when a second lightsaber appeared only to be blocked by the first figure.

"Surprised to see you here," the first figure said.

"I'm here to kill the boy," the second figure said coming into the light.

The figure was a large male with dull gray eyes, and sharp facial features. I racked my brain for a moment and then had to stifle a gasp. I know why the first figure sounded so familiar.

"Nonsense we will use the boy as bait to draw the other Jedi," she said opening the visor causing my sense of panic to grow.

This is not good.

I'm sorry this had taken so long. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter.
