Hello everyone!!! I am so sorry for the delay, but I do hope you guys enjoy this chapter. 

Kanan POV

Two hours after my talk with Rex, my patience had run out.

"Hera, we need to go looking for them," I demanded.

"I guess you're right," she replied when suddenly there was loud thud followed by hissing of pressurized air.

"The Phantom's back," Sabine running by us.

"Sabine wait!" I called going after her.

The force was saying it wasn't Ezra and I didn't want her getting hurt. I caught up with Sabine just as a tall figure slid down the ladder.

"Wait youre not Ezra. Who are you?" Sabine asked staring wide eyed.

The figured turned and was surprised to see us.

"Me? Oh umm...isn't obvious?" He said striking a pose.

"Hondo Ohnaka," I answered with an unamused expression. 

"Yes, thank you, someone who has actually heard of me!" Hondo said with a smile.

"Only by reputation," I deadpanned placing my hands on my hips.

"Yes well, I do have that. What a lovely ship you have," Hondo said while backing towards the cockpit door.

"Thanks, we like it," I said pulling Sabine behind me.

Hondo stared at me for a few seconds before going through the door and I quickly followed along with the rest of the crew.

"You know, I know someone who would be very interested and would pay a lot of credits for a ship like this," Hondo said once we had reached the cargo hold.

"We're not selling the Ghost," Hera growled.

Hondo POV

I couldn't help but stare wide eyed for a moment,  recognizing the voice.

"Ah Captain Syndulla!" I greeted with a small bow. "I am honored to be in the presence of such a talented pilot like yourself. You have a marvelous ship."

"Thank you," she said crossing her arms. "Now where is Ezra?"

OH! This must be the crew the boy spoke of. I can see why he didn't want to leave them. But no matter I need to find a way to get out of here. 

"Well you see," I started thinking of good way to spin this. "He was very brave. Stood tall in the face of certain danger, even rescued me from the clutches of death," 
I noticed the tall man start forward but was restrained by Captain Syndulla.

"Where is he?" He spoke as his eyes flashed dangerously.

Hoping to get them distracted, I started telling my version of the story.

"Let me start from the beginning...."

Several minutes later

NPOV

"But then after we battled the dashtrious Vizago..."

Hondo was almost confident that he had talked his way out of this mess when a certain droid rolled past him letting out few inappropriate chirps.

"Well that's not..." he started to say when a young boy suddenly appeared.

"My friend!!!" He cried putting an arm around Ezra and patted his shoulder. "I was just talking about you. How we took on Vizago..."

"Yeah not true," Ezra said shrugging off his arm. "You stole my ship and my generators."

The statement made Hera grin proudly.

'Just like his father, doesn't come back empty handed,' she thought.

"Such accusation," Hondo gasped in mock hurt.

"The Phantom was in auto," Ezra said crossing his arms.

Hondo thought for a moment before giving up.

"Well that's one version I guess," he said turning and making a beeline down the ramp. "In fact keep the generators as a gift." 

Ezra sighed and followed him.

"Look, I'm sorry about your crew and if things were different I might have considered joining you," the boy said, stopping the old pirate.

Hondo chuckled feeling a warmth he once thought extinguished spread through his chest, turning towards him.

"Oh Ezra, you truly are a Jedi," he whispered to him before exclaiming loudly. "Until we meet again, GOOdbye!"

Kanan POV

The second I saw Ezra coming up the ramp I wanted to grab him in relief and hold on tight. I was even more relieved to see him unharmed. As Hondo left, I watched Ezra follow him. 

"Look, I'm sorry about your crew and if things were different I might have considered joining you," Ezra  said causing the pirate to pause. 

Hondo offered for him to join and Ezra considered? Not good. 

"Oh Ezra," Hondo chuckled. "You truly are a Jedi. Until we meet again, GOOdbye!" 

"So you went for a spin?" I asked quietly, coming up behind him.

"Something like that," he answered not turning around. "I was trying to figure things out."

"Were you now?" I chuckled nervously.

"Yeah but it didn't help much," he responded turning his eyes back to me. 

"Ezra you weren't actually considering joining him, were you?" 

"I thought about it," he responded and turned back to watch Hondo disappear from view. "I'm tired of being stuck in the middle of your arguing with Rex. I'm tired being expected to be this great solider when I still have trouble with dueling. I'm only thirteen." 

This time I did wrap my arms around him. 

"I know and I'm so sorry," bending down so I could whisper in his ear. "It's not fair what we have been doing to you. All I want is for you to be happy and healthy. The experience and skill will come in time." 

Ezra turned so he could wrap his arms around my neck. 

"I miss how things use to be, when it was you, me, Mama, and Chopper. I mean yeah it got crazy but at least I knew that you were there every night. I knew Mom was in the cockpit and Chopper was in my room charging and now...sigh...I don't know."

"I know what you mean," I responded. "I miss how things use to be too. But you know what? That is part of growing up, things change and you move forward. However it's always good to remember the past, it shows us how far we've come."

"How do you know all of this?" He smiled.

"It's a gift," I chuckled. "Besides I was a teenage parent, there were a lot of things I had to learn on the fly, otherwise we would have starved the first month on our own."

"Yeah you're cooking wasn't exactly the best," he chuckled.

"It wasn't that baaaa.... okay Joe refused to let me near anything with flames, but at least I got better." 

"You did and now you're better than Mom," Ezra grinned letting me go. 

 "Yes, and we're together," I said grasping his arms gently. "Nothing can tear us apart." 

Ezra smiled before letting out a small yawn.

"...So I guess I'm grounded for taking the Phantom."

"You should be, but I think you suffered enough having to deal with Hondo," I said getting to my feet. "However that doesn't mean you're safe from Hera."

His face paled at the thought of what she had in mind.

"Come on," I said putting an arm around his shoulders, leading him into the Ghost.

Bonus. 

Hera POV 

I watched from the cockpit, smiling. From the looks of things Ezra and Kanan finally had that long overdue conversation or at least part of it. As they came inside and up the ladder I turned to smile at them. Kanan smiled back and patted our on the shoulder before leaving. 

"Mom, I'm sorry," he blurted out. 

"For what?" I asked 

He sighed and dropped into the co-pilots chair. 

"I took the Phantom with out permission and the whole rescue mission blew up in my face. I could have been killed or something could have happen to the Phantom or even worse..." 

"Ezra," I ordered, placing a hand on his shoulder to stop him.  

"Hun, breathe," I soothed. "Take a deep breath and relax." 

After a few moments I retracted my hand placed it on his knee. 

"Yes, you should have called and told us what was happening. A lot of things could have happened. In fact the way Hondo described it, they did, but the most important thing is that you came home safe and sound. An with heating generators; so yeah you did something stupid but you found exactly what we needed and are going to save a lot of lives. So because of that, you're punishment is to fix the Phantom's scratches and you are going to be volunteering for the next mission Commander Sato goes on." 

"That's fair," he responded getting up. "I'll go get started on the Phantom." 

"Not so fast," I ordered. "Do that tomorrow. You stink to high heaven and you look exhausted. Go take a shower and then go to bed." 

"Thanks Mom," he smiled hugging me before leaving the cockpit. 

Kanan's right, our boy is something else.
