A Choice
I hope you enjoy the next chapter.
"I can't be dead" I exclaimed.
Janus gave me a weird look.
"Then what do you call it when you heart gives out?"
"But..."
"Kid because of your injuries, you went into cardiac arrest," Janus said.
I gave the room a glance over.
"Kinda of bright isn't?" I asked really hoping this was some crazy dream.
"Not dream Kid," he answered.
"But what about Ezra? He needs me," I cried out.
"As I recall that night you said there wasn't a lot of people you would die for but for that baby you would. Isn't that what you said?" He asked calmly.
"Yes," I sighed. "That is what I said, but answer me this. If I'm dead then where is my Master?"
Janus chuckled.
"The reason you don't see her is because you were being tested. You still have a will to live even though your body has given up. You must decide, you can go back and wait for your son to come in time or you can come with me."
I reached out glad I could still feel the force. I searched for Ezra's signature finding it closer than before. His signature latched onto mine, joyful for the calming presence. I pulled back after giving him a push of comfort.
"Well Boy, what do you say?"
I turned to Janus before smiling.
"See you on the other side," I said before fading out.
Ezra POV
We had finally got out of hyperspace. The nerves in my stomach was making it hard to concentrate on the plan.
"I'll send the codes as soon as we know for sure Kanan is on board. Ezra?" Mom said turning to me.
I closed my eyes and reached out wanting so badly to feel Dad's signature.
"Ezra is he there?" Mom whispered.
I looked harder and his faint signature latched onto mine.
'Papa!' I cried out happily.
He was standing there waiting for me.
'Papa! Papa! We're here!'
He smiled at me and sent comforting waves before pulling back.
"He's there and he's alive!" I exclaimed.
The mood on the ship lightened considerably and all too soon we were docked.
"Time to go get Papa back," I said heading for the exit.
Mom told Chopper to wait on board and followed me out. Our first problem occurred when we found our exit sealed off.
"Well then," Sabine said looking at me.
I smirked and brought out my lightsaber. I ignited it and stabbed it into the wall cutting our way in.
"Impressive," Zeb mumbled as we climbed through.
"Now where do we go?" Mom asked.
Letting the force guide me, I felt it pulling towards a corridor on the left.
"This way," I answered taking the lead.
"How long is our distraction gonna hold?" Zeb asked.
"Don't worry it will take them a while to figure out the problem," Sabine responded checking her wrist.
Suddenly troopers were blocking our path.
"You were saying," I snarked before firing a couple of shots.
We ran back down the hall and sliced the lock letting the door slam shut.
"Now what?" Zeb asked.
"I just cut off our only way to get to Dad," I sighed.
"Maybe not," Mom responded.
I gave her a weird look before looking up. Sure enough an air vent.
"Zeb give me a boost."
I got the vent open and crawled inside.
"Be careful," Mom told me.
"You guys as well," I said before shutting the vent.
I sighed and went forward. After a few twists and turns I made it to a grate. I could hear troopers running around and shouting orders. One in particular made me perk up.
"What about the Jedi?"
"Leave him, the Inquisitor says he's dead."
I went numb, after all that just for Dad to be dead. No it couldn't be true. The force screamed in my ear and I needed to know the truth. I cut out the grate and jumped out of the vents. I scrambled over to the door and got it opened. I stepped into the room igniting my saber to give me some light. It fell on Papa's beaten and battered body blood seeping from several gashes and it didn't look like he was breathing.
"No," I whispered.
I dropped to my knees and placed my hand on his neck. No pulse and my heart was breakig.
"Papa! please, please," I whispered bowing my head.
Suddenly something sparked over our bond.
"Papa?"
"You shouldn't have come, but I'm real glad you did," he whispered.
I quickly transferred some of my energy to him so he could move.
"I think it's time to update your training," he chuckled sitting up.
I quickly wrapped my arms around him and cried.
"Shh...shh...I'm here," he said bringing his own arms around me.
I pulled back for a second to feel the ship rumble underneath us.
"Time to go."
He nodded and together we got him up and out the door.
I do hope you enjoyed. Please let me know what you thought.
