Ezra POV
I was running through the corridors of this dam labyrinth.
Alone.
"Zeb!"
"Sabine!"
I tried ones again but again I got no reply. Only the silence of the maze.
It felt like I was already searching for houres! Where the force could they be?
I was getting frustrated of it.
Suddenly I heard a scream in the distance. Not too quiet and it seems to come from not too far away. Immediately I doubled my speed and went in the direction where I thought the scream came from.
Frankly, I was hoping that it wasn't Sabine or Zeb because that would mean there were in trouble, but ...
I turned a corner and bumped into something so I fell backwards. "Awch!"
Above me I heard a growl. My eyes widened and I slowly looked up at the creature that stood above me. A deep black fur, twice as big as me, a mouth full of sharp teeth and two red eyes staring at me. Again there was a grunt.
I slowly began to slide backwards. "Not who I'm looking for."
The wolf-like creature rises himself up entirely and became even bigger. His long dangerous claws shined in the light.
Just as I was ready to sprint away, it jumped at me. I screamed and knocked out by the creature.
Zeb POV
I waked up.
Tied up at a pole.
Immediately I tried to free my wrists from the ropes.
"Zeb." whispered someone beside me. I stopped my attempts to get free and looked at the person who was tied up next to me.
"Sabine," I whispered back. She would probably have a reason to whisper. "What happened."
"We were captured by that creature. When I woke up, it was curled up and there was a man covered in a white suit. A few minutes ago the head of the creature shot up and it had gone away together with the man. "
Now I saw that someone was missing. "Where is Ezra?"
She shook her head. "No idea." She replied.
"Ah you're both awake." Both of our heads shots to the source of the voice. A man, judging from the voice, in a white armor with yellow symbols stood there. He also had a mask that was placed over his head. At his side was something a little resembled with a lightsaber.
The man came towards us. "Who are you and how did you get in here?"
We were both silent. We couldn't trust that man. Right?
"Are we going to play it that way? Stubborn? Good for me."
He whistled on his fingers. At first nothing happened, but then in the distance, there was a howl of a wolf.
Sabine and I exchanged glances. "I'm normally not a violent person, but about my friend I can't say the same thing. Look, I don't want to harm you in anyway, but I have a job and that is to protect this place and we are going to do that. "
The man turned on, indeed as I thought, a yellow lightsaber. "Look, you have time until my friend comes back to say anything. And my way is much less painful as my friend's."
We both remain silent. The man swung his lightsaber at me and I heard Sabine scream. Quickly I ducked down and pushed my wrists upward along the pole. The ropes around my wrists loosed and I realized that my plan had worked. I quickly jumped up and went to our captor. His quick Jedi reflexes saved him.
I assumed he was some kind of Jedi.
I quickly ran to the wall where I had seen my bo-rifle.
"Zeb watch out!" cried Sabine.
Just in time I could turn around to see the lightsaber that came at me. At the last minute I jumped aside and in the movement I managed to grab my arm.
I rolled on the floor and jumped back on my feets with my back facing Sabine. I backed toward her. The man stared at me with the lightsaber in his hands.
Why wasn't he attacking?
When I was at Sabine, I cut her ropes loose. Immediately she grabbed her blasters and bombs.
The man still hadn't moved a muscle.
Walking backwards without losing the man out of sight, we walked to the only corridor that was a way out of this place except where the man stood. I bumped into something and I heard a growl above me. When I turned around, sharp claws touched my chest and I screamed in pain when I was pushed backwards.
That is why the man hadn't attacked
"Zeb!" I could hear the sound of blasters.
I worked myself up and put a hand on my chest. Fortunately it wasn't critical, nothing big with just a little blood.
Sabine POV
The wolf-like creature was back and hit Zeb dangerous. Hopefully nothing bad.
I immediately began to shoot the monster without hesitation.
Many of the bullets he dodged with his lightning-fast reflexes, but one hit him in the back as he had quickly ducked into a ball.
He let out a cry of pain.
I stopped shooting, from the wound where I had hit him, seeping thick dark blood. Then unexpectedly he lunged at me with one of his claws. Luckily I was able to dive away, but was immediately attacked again.
I noticed he only attacked with one claw, his other arm was tightly pressed against him. It seemed as if was protected something.
When there was enough space between us and I was out of his reach, it didn't attacked anymore. It turned around to walk toward the man who had watch everything if it was not that Zeb got in the way. With the tip of his bo-rifle he shoked the creature. In the place that it attacked, it curled himself into a ball and let out cries and howls of pain.
Then I saw it: he was carrying something in his arms.
No not something, someone!
"Zeb! Stop!" Zeb did not stop. I ran to him and stood between him and the being when he wanted to strike again.
"He's only trying to protect someone. You are going to hurt an innocent person."
I leaned toward the creature, Zeb's uncomprehending gaze ignoring. "We won't hurt him." I told him.
I was very aware of the man who stared at me. Hesitantly, I put a hand on the back of the huge creature. Even so curled up he was almost as big as me. Even Zeb looked small and weak next to it.
In response to my hand he jumped away. In a couple of leaps he was by the man, the sudden movement made me fell backwards and Zeb had to catch me.
Because it was turned with his back to us, we couldn't see who it was who the creature was trying to protect.
"He just fell? By itself?" something severe sounded in the tone of the man. For a moment he was silent. "I thought so, you first attacked before thinking."
With who was he talking?
"Yes, yes I know you're sorry. Fortunately for your he has nothing except perhaps the fright of his life, but fortunately nothing bad."
The hairy ears were laid flat against his head.
He was talking to that monster?
Zeb looked at me confused. I lifted my shoulders to show that I also didn't understand much of it.
"Put him down under a sheet in the cottage . He'll wake up in a moment." The creature turned around so we could see who was in his arms. It was a boy of around 14-15 with orange clothes and black hair with a blue tint.
"Ezra" Zeb and me cried at the same time when we realized who it was.
