Ezra POV
We went down the long stone stairs. Because they were quite narrow, Zeb grumbled all the time about how cramped it was and that they had to think about that maybe bigger creatures like him might also use this.
And Sabine and I had to listen to the entire descent.
And believe me
It was a long staircase.
Zeb and Sabine stood still in front of me. "Is something wrong?" I asked and I stood next to them which gave me a view of the entrance of what I thought was a giant maze.
"How are we going to find our way in here?"
Without answering, I walked to the entrance. Fortunately, these corridors were wide enough for Zeb. You could walk easily with three people side by side. The gigantic stone walls rose up to the ceiling.
"Zeb, Sabine follow me and do not touch anything."
"Who made you the boss?" Zeb protested when we took the first turn.
"Nobody but I'm the only one of our three who know the way around here. Anyway there's something weird with this place."
Ever since I had put a first step here, I felt something strange.
A force.
Which attracted me and lead me the way.
"Phew ... Are we going to start like that. How difficult can it be to find the way. Just some courses. There's nothing about it." Zeb leaned against the wall. Immediately there was a sound of a crack and the ground began to shook.
Sabine and I gave him an angry look.
"I told you: don't touch anything!"
"I just lean against the wall!"
"That is also is indicated under nothing!"
"Or you can keep looking at me that angry or we can run!" We didn't let us say that twice. We ran as fast as we could with me in front.
As in the dream, I took every turn without hesitation.
We run until suddenly a large piece of ceiling fell down.
"Watch out!"
I do not know who cried, but it was too late for us.
Kanan had been right, we should never have come here. I could not believe this was my end.
For my last second I focused on the Force and felt the calm falling over me. I lifted my hands above my head and focused.
"Ezra?!"
Close them out. Focus.
My arms started to hurt because of the effort, burning fire seemed to raise through my veins. Then I opened my eyes to remain stunned.
Zeb and Sabine both stared at the big piece of ceiling above their heads, floated a few centimeters from their heads.
My eyes grew even bigger when I realized that I was the one doing this.
I was the one who had stopped it with the Force.
My arms began to tremble. I can't stand it much longer, I realized. "Go! I do not know how much longer I can hold this."
Sabine and Zeb began to run and I tried to move the piece of stone in the opposite direction. At the same time I also had to step in the same direction as Zeb and Sabine.
Two strong hands grabbed me and pulled me form under the block which cause me to lose my concentration so it quickly fell down.
A loud crack sounded when it hit the ground. The block also caused a large cloud of dust, which ensured that the three of us burst into a fit of coughing, and saw nothing until it passed a little.
"How...? How did ...? " Sabine did not get out her words.
"How I have done it?"
She nodded.
"No idea. What the craziest thing is: I've never felt so much energy in my life. It is like I can stay awake for days. "
It remained silent for a few seconds.
"You were right there is indeed something strange about this place." Zeb broke the silence, his eyes were wide.
"What do you mean?"
He pulled us both around the corner.
When we wanted to protest, he put a hand on our mouth so we were silent.
He looked around the corner and quickly pulled his head back.
He motioned us to follow him.
Sabine did that right away. I hesitated. "Zeb," I whispered. "We need to go the other way."
They did not listen. I let out a silent groan.
Sabine suddenly screamed and I heard gunshots.
Had the empire also found this place?
Or was it one of the many unknown things that were waiting for us in this maze?
When I turned the corner were Sabine and Zeb had gone to, I found nothing.
Oh no...
"Sabine!"
I started to run through the corridors without even thinking.
"Zeb!"
