Winter smiled holding her son close to her. They now had a daughter who was five a son who was only a year old. She smiled as she cradled him.
"How's our boy?" Asked Marr'ad as he came into the room and sat beside her. "He's just fine." She said smiling down at the sleeping bundle. Marr'ad smiled and kissed her head then his son's.
"Is Russan asleep?" Winter asked. Marr'ad nodded, "She had me read her the same story twice." Winter laughed and said, "Well. She loves that story and when you read to her." Marr'ad nods and smiles.
"Alright, I'm going to put Gael to bed," She said standing up. Marr'ad came over and said, "No. I can, you had a long day." Winter smiled and kissed Marr'ad's cheek. "Okay. That you." She then got back into bed as Marr'ad walked to the nursery and laid his son down.
"Good night my boy." He said and kissed his son's head. He then walked back into his room where Winter was. Winter was already asleep and Marr'ad snuggled down next to her and was asleep too.
The night was peaceful but Marr'ad and Winter woke up when they heard a crash and a cry. They bolted out of bed and to Gael's room. There were two hooded figures there one was holding a crying Gael. The one who turned wasn't and ran at them with incredible speed. They slipped out a knife and attack. Marr'ad grabs the person's wrist and the person slipped down and around him forcing him to let their hand go. Winter ran at the person she blasted snow at them but they dodged. "Give us back our son!" She said still running at them. She fired a shard of ice at them but they grabbed it in mid air and threw it back at her she side stepped but before she had a chance to attack they grabbed her throat and sent a wave of electricity through her. She let out a yelp and dropped to the ground.
"Winter!" Marr'ad shouted and ran over to her forgetting about the other attack who ran to their partner's side. Marr'ad checked her pulse; she was fine. He then stood up and faced the two people dressed in black. He knew he couldn't fight both of them, they were much better trained and were faster and seemed to know how he and Winter fought.
"Please." He begged them. "He's our son leave him here and take me." The two people looked at each other then back at him. Gael still was crying; he was only a year old and he wasn't talking yet. The one who wasn't holding Gael slid the knife away and moved his arm out and Marr'ad slid to the floor. A knockout dart hit his neck and it kept his knocked out.
The two people looked at each other then back at Gael they nodded and then one of them throws down a smoke bomb and vanish.
a year and a half later...
Winter was gazing standing out the porch and she drawing a bit. She and Marr'ad were still heartbroken over the kidnapping of their son. They still were looking for him but they never did find him. Marr'ad came out to her and handed her some warm tea.
"Thank you," She said taking it, Marr'ad nods and sits down next to her. He kisses her head and said, "We'll find him."
"I know...but it's been a year and a half." She said tearing up. Marr'ad wrapped an arm around her and held her close. He whipped away her tears and said, "Winter. I promise we'll find him and find the people who took him." Winter nods and says, "I'll be right back. I need to pick up Russan from school."
Marr'ad nods and says, "I'll come too." They then both headed out to pick up Russan who they now kept her at arm's length. They didn't want to lose their little girl too. When they got to the school Russan ran over to them and Marr'ad picked her up.
"Daddy!" She said hugging his neck. She was now six years old. Marr'ad smiled and kissed her head. "How was school sweety?" Asked Winter.
"It was really good, momma." She said looking at Winter who smiled sweetly at her. They then headed home and Marr'ad placed Russan who ran off to play.
"Care to help me get dinner started?" Asked Winter and Marr'ad nods. However, once they walk into the kitchen there was a masked figure was waiting there. They wore all black and they looked very similar to the people who took Gael. They both tense.
He reaches up to his mask and pulls it off. His face was a tad more pale then Marr'ad and he had his eyes but white hair. "Mother..." He said looking at Winter he then turned to Marr'ad and said, "...Father."
They both stood there frozen. This man couldn't be their son he looked 15 and his hair was white...but could he? He sighs and then pulls a knife and was behind them with a few swift movements. "Of course you don't remember me." He sighs and then moves the blade to Winter's neck. Marr'ad was able to get out of the frozen state and grabbed his son's arm. He looked deep into the young male's eyes. He was Gael.
"Gael?" He asked. Their son twists and moves his wrist away from Marr'ad and said, "That was the name you gave me, but it's not my name anymore."
"Gael please...if that's you what's going on?" Asks Winter who now was able to turn and look at him.
"I'm an assassin. My mission: assassinate Winter and Marr'ad...My parents." He said icily. Marr'ad and Winter freezes once again. He then moves towards them with incredible speed. He moves his knife fast towards Marr'ad's chest. He could kill them easily but he want's to savor this. They let him be captured and didn't care that he was gone. That's what he was told, he was also told that they saved him. They brainwashed him to become one of them, and he did. They were proud of who he could be and become. He was fast and even better he was Winter's son so he could get the same ability she had through the force which he now has.
Marr'ad's soldier instincts came to him and were able to stop his son from killing him. Gael moved his other hand to him and an ice shard appeared however suddenly he goes limp in Marr'ad's arms. Winter stunned him with a blaster that was set to stun. Her eyes wide with tears. She didn't want to do that but she had to. Marr'ad nodded at her telling her it was okay.
He took the knife out of Gael's hand and he picked up his son and brought him to the living room. He put him on the couch and thought deeply.
"What are we going to do?" She asked.
"I don't know..." He says. He looks at his son's sleeping figure and sighs deeply. He wished he knew what to do.
"When he wakes up he's gonna kill us..." Winter said. Marr'ad suddenly stands up and says, "I don't want to say this but we have to restrain him some way.." He then turns and goes to the front all closet and gets out a wristband. It was a restrainer that would numb someone's nerves and makes them unable to fight back. For some reason, a brother of Marr'ad thought it'll be a good gift wedding gift. Why did this clone think this? Who knows.
He gently puts it on Gael's wrist. He frowned deeply wishing he knew why his son was like this. "Winter? Maybe it'll be a good idea if you take Russan out for tonight or till I can figure out what's going on with him."
Winter was about to argue but sighed, "alright..." She went to get Russan and then led the little girl outside. She did her best to say why they were going out. Marr'ad made sure to give both Russan and Winter a kiss goodbye.
He then walked to Gael who began to stir and wake up. Marr'ad looked at him with soft eyes. He then sat up and lunged at Marr'ad but froze. He looked at his wrist and frowned. "You are restraining me?" He asked looking at him with sharp eyes. But he sat down.
"I have too. I don't want to, Gael." Marr'ad said.
"Then take it off." Gael said.
"I can't not until I know you're not going to kill me or your mother." Marr'ad said. Gael growled a bit. "What happened?" Marr'ad asked.
"Like you don't know! You let me get taken and didn't care about me enough to look for me." He snarled.
"Gael. You mom and tried to stop the people who took you, we love you. You're our son." Marr'ad said sitting down next to him. Gael looked away and closed his eyes. He then opened them and looked at him and said, "I don't believe you."
"Okay. You don't have to but think of your sister. She's six. She needs her parents." He says resting a hand on Gael's shoulder. Gael jerked away but didn't lash out. He knew it was pointless too. He then stood up and walked to the window and closed his eyes. Letting his mind drift some to what his sparring partner told him before this mission. 'Listen. Give your parents a chance to show you the truth if you find that they are who they say then do what you want. But if you find out they aren't. Stay you have a family don't trade them away for this life and if you do. Give me a call. I'll make sure they leave you alone.'
He turned to face Marr'ad and said, "Alright. I'll give you a chance to prove to me that you aren't who they say you are and to prove that I am telling the truth I am going to leave this on."
Marr'ad smiled gently and walked over to him and took off the wristband. "You're my son. You don't need to prove to me anything." He then pulled him into a hug and ran a hand through Gael's now snowy white hair.
Gael's eyes widened as his father held him close. Gael slowly hugged him back and pressed his face to Marr'ad's neck. "You're okay." Marr'ad said holding him close. Marr'ad let go when he felt Gael's body tense.
"Hungry?" Marr'ad asks. Gael nods some and they go to the kitchen and Marr'ad gets some food for him.
"Can I ask you something?" Asked Marr'ad and Gael nods some.
"How is it that you're so much older then you should be?" Marr'ad asks as he hands him the plate. "I was at a place where time moves much faster than it does here."
"How old are you?" Marr'ad asks. "I'm 15." He replied. Marr'ad looks at him and suddenly tears up some. His son was away from them for 14 years where he was from but only a year and a half here. He then went over and hugged Gael tightly. He prayed that he could make the realtionship that could have been there when he was a little boy now. He just hoped he could do that.
