"This way mommy!" A very young Mira shouted as she tugged on her mom's sleeve. A carnival was very exciting for a young girl of 5. Her mother smiled and followed her. Mira came to a stop at a stand. The sign on the tent read 'fortunes,  palm reading, ext.'

"Hello young Mira," said a voice. She looks up at the man running the stand. She giggles and hid her face by her mom. Her mom laughs and picks her up. "How did you know my name?" Mira giggled.

"I am a mind reader." He said with a shrug. "Really?!" She asks her eyes going wide.

"Would you like your future read?" He asks.

"can we mommy?" She asks.

"Of course sweety." Her mom said. The man in the booth gave a smile and looked at Mira. He then picks up a book and flips through it. He stops and reads the words inside, he then looks back at her and says, "Silver."

"Silver?" She asks wrinkling her nose confused.

"Yes, Silver. I see Silver in your future and something else." He replied. She still looked confused. He then laughs softly and said, "And I see you getting that wolf you have been wanting."

"Yay!" She said.

Her smiles and looks at him and asks, "How much will this coast?"

"Free and a word of warning ma'am. Avoid the shadows of the unknown and avoid the ones with the same face." He said.

"Come again?" She asks looking confused. He turned his palms up and suddenly he was gone along with the booth. Mira clapped and giggled at the that. Her mom, however, frowned confused about his readings.

Far way from the carnival he reappeared and groaned. "Really?" He asks turning to the hooded man. "You have work that needs to be done. Not act in some childish amusement." He snapped.

Sol, the man who was running the stand looks at him. His eyes narrowed and he moves his head to the side. "Stop!" The hooded man said knowing what he was doing. "Why are you complaining, Cade? You know very well that the future is like a river always changing. One thing everyone gets wrong. It is always changing the only thing that is ever set in stone is the past but the past cannot define your future." Sol says.

"Why are telling me this?" Cade asks.

"Why not?" He asks. Cade sighs and shakes his head. He walks over to Sol and says, "Come on then, we have work to do."

"Work. Work. Work. That's all you guys do for what though?" Sol asks.

"Why ask questions you already know answers too?" Cade replied. Sol shrugged and followed Cadet.
