There were times, like when they sat together and talked and kissed in the interrogation room, where Armitage Hux was glad to see (Y/N). There were also times, like now, where it filled him with rage.

Right now, (Y/N) was standing in front of Armitage after knocking on his bedroom door at midnight. Her eyes were down. She was wearing a teal officer's uniform, presumably stolen, and she had a black eye and small bruises trailing down her neck. It was not the sight of (Y/N) that made Armitage angry. It was the fact that someone would harm a creature so compassionate, charming, intelligent, merciful, and beautiful. (Y/N) was straight out of a dream. She deserved more than an abusive boyfriend and a secret lover who was technically her enemy.

But he couldn't tell her that. She'd just shrug it off or, even worse, tell him why he was wrong. Instead, Armitage just placed a hand on her shoulder, only putting his arms all the way around her when she leaned her head on his shoulder. "Don't you go sweet on me," she mumbled, tears gently soaking his t-shirt.

He held her tightly all night, dreading the moment she'd have to sneak back into his bed.

A while later, (Y/N) (L/N) was on her knees with Finn and Rose, awaiting execution. Rose was shaking. "It's okay," (Y/N) murmured, staring at Armitage. "We are going to escape. And we will not let them win." The general smirked at her. "Miss (L/N)," he purred. "So good to see you again."

"The pleasure is mine, Hux. Especially since you're not going to keep us here."

"Ah, yes. You're quite the escape artist."

"Only so I can give you time to miss me." Armitage walked over and ran a finger under her chin.

"Don't you go sweet on me," he said.

"Don't touch her," Finn growled. (Y/N)'s heart twisted. He actually thought (Y/N) and Poe loved each other. "She's with someone even better--"

Armitage slapped him. (Y/N) flinched and began to mumble under her breath. "I know who she's with," he hissed. Rose scooted closer to (Y/N).

"It's okay," she whispered. "He's not here." Rose was the only one, besides Armitage, who knew what Poe did to her. Armitage glanced at them and walked over.

"I'm sorry. That was the only time, I promise." (Y/N) nodded and watched him go.

"Why do you put up with it," Armitage asked. He'd found fresh bruises on her wrists and stomach. He hated Poe with all his heart.

"What am I supposed to do?"

"You could leave."

"He wouldn't let me."

"He can't force you to stay! You could sneak back here and we could go off together." (Y/N) smiled and kissed him.

"Don't you go sweet on me."

"Please. You're the one who's going sweet." It hurt that they couldn't say what they meant. Someday, Armitage promised himself. For now, though.....

"How did you get captured again?!" (Y/N) flinched away from Poe. "You know, I don't really believe you could be this incompetent. Maybe you shouldn't go on missions anymore."

"No!" Poe slammed (Y/N) against the wall, gripping her wrists.

"So there is a reason. You've been cheating, haven't you?" (Y/N) was shaking. Poe shook her. Her head hit the wall, and she cried out. "Well? Have you? I bet it's with that ginger, Hux. Finn told me he likes you. Maybe--"

"I was meeting a spy! I've been meeting a spy for the past few months." Poe shook his head and laughed.

"See, if we had a spy, I'd know. You're obviously lying."

"General Organa said it was need to know."

"And I didn't need to know?" (Y/N) shook her head. Poe let her go, glaring. "I'm going to ask the General about this. If I find out you're lying, you and Hux are going to pay." He left, and (Y/N) crumpled. She didn't have long, though, so she picked herself up and began packing. Poe stormed back in as she was shoving the last of her belongings into her bag.

Armitage hurried to the landing bay with everyone else. "WHAT is going on," he asked, annoyed.

"A Resistance pod just landed on the ship." Armitage filled with dread. He pushed his way to the front of the crowd as the pod opened up.

(Y/N) was almost dead. She was bleeding in several places and had many new bruises. He ran and caught her just as she collapsed. She smiled up at him. "Armitage...." Her eyes began to drift shut.

"No. (Y/N), stay with me." He picked her up bridal style. "CLEAR A PATH," he screamed. "SHE NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION!" She reached up to stroke his cheek.

"I love you," she whispered. Armitage's eyes filled with tears and he began to run.

"No. (Y/N) (L/N), don't you go sweet on me. Don't dare go sweet on me." But she had already shut her eyes. Armitage refused to give up. He got her to the med bay as quickly as he could. He held her hands as the droids tried to keep her heart beating. Her shallow breaths terrified him. Eventually, though, the droids did all they could and it was up to her if she woke up.

Nearly a week later, Supreme Leader Ren walked to the med bay. Armitage was still there, holding (Y/N)'s hand. Ren cleared his throat. Armitage didn't look up. "Can you believe they let this happen to one of thir own," he whispers.

"General Hux, we need you in the board room. There is a meeting--"

"No."

"Excuse me?" Armitage glared at Ren. His hair was a mess and there were bags under his eyes. He looked thinner, but he couldn't care less.

"If I go to that meeting, (Y/N) will be alone, and if she can't feel me, she might--" A sob ripped itself from his throat. "I can't lose anyone else, Supreme Leader, especially not her." Ren placed his hand on Armitage's shoulder.

"She's not going to die just because you go do your job, and she's not going to wake up just because you're here begging her to. Hux." Ren took off his helmet. "Come back to work." Hux nodded and stood up. Ren tossed him a comb.

".... Where did you get this?"

"I have magic hair powers." Hux combed his hair quickly, blew (Y/N) a kiss, and followed Ren to the meeting.

About an hour into the meeting, a med droid interupted. "Armitage Hux?" Ren and Armitage tensed. "Miss (L/N) just woke up. She's asked for you." Hux practically leaped out of his chair and ran to the med bay. (Y/N) was sitting up in bed. When they saw each other, they both screamed their partner's names. Hux held (Y/N) in his arms and kissed her passionately.

"You know, officers are allowed to have their families on board sometimes. Do you wanna move in?" (Y/N) nodded, tears in her eyes.

"Don't you go sweet on me, Armitage." He hugged her tightly.

"I love you, too."
