Always There Part 5(Rey)
A/N: The picture above is Sam's lightsabers. If any of you are familiar with the anime RWBY, the lightsabers are based off of Weiss's sword. The video is now dubbed the theme song of the imagine. It is also from RWBY.
"Rey," Sam yelled. She ran through the forest, following Rey. She stumbled over the smallest sticks and roots. After the sandy monotony of Jakku, the forest was seriously hard to navigate. Sam put on an extra burst of speed, and caught up to Rey. She placed a hand on her shoulder. "Rey," she breathed. Rey turned around. Her eyes widened, and she burst into tears. Sam hugged her tightly. "Hey, honey, it's okay," she whispered, stroking Rey's hair like Sam's mother used to do when she was upset.
"Why did he leave," Rey sobbed.
"He had to," Sam murmured. "He says he's sorry."
"He abandoned us. Why did he have to do that?"
"I don't know."
"Everyone leaves us."
"Shh. It's okay, love. I'll still be here." Sam began to rock Rey back and forth. She could feel the tears welling up in her own eyes. Then the gunshot fired. She shoved Rey to the ground, and took the blast to her upper arm. Sam yanked her blaster out of her hip, turned around, and shot the stormtrooper in the head. She pulled Rey to her feet.
"Come on," Sam ordered. "We need to get out of here." Rey nodded, and took Sam's hand. Sam smiled at her, then pulled Rey deeper into the forest. The girls ran as fast as they could. Sam blasted any stormtroopers they found. Then they reached the clearing. Sam froze. Her grip on Rey's hand tightened. Rey frowned.
"Sam? What's wrong?"
"He's here," Sam whispered. She took a deep, shuddering breath. "Kylo Ren," she shouted. "Come out where I can see you!" Kylo Ren appeared from around a boulder, lightsaber ignited.
"Samantha Skywalker," he said, voice cold and robotic. He looked at Rey. "And the girl I've heard so much about." Sam's grip on Rey's hand grew even tighter. Rey felt something hard press into her hand.
When I tell you, run as fast as you can. Get away from here. Do you understand? Rey looked at Sam. She gave a tiny, imperceptible nod. Sam let go of Rey's hand. Rey clung tighter to the object in her hand.
"The droid," Kylo Ren said. He took his lightsaber out of his belt and ignited it. "Where is it?" Sam laughed.
"You seriously think I'll tell you where it is?" Kylo Ren paused. "After everything you did to me?"
"Samantha--" Sam took her lightsabers out of her belt.
"I go by Sam now." Sam lunged at Kylo Ren. He barely blocked her strike.
"Run, Rey," Sam shrieked. Rey obeyed, charging into the forest while Sam viciously attacked Kylo Ren.
"The map," he breathed. "You've seen it." Kylo Ren used the Force to freeze Sam in place. He took her lightsabers from her and deactivated them. He studied them for a second, then tucked them into his belt with his lightsaber. "Samantha--"
"It's. Sam."
"Sam. I'm sorry." Sam glared at Kylo Ren.
"I loved you," she whispered. Kylo Ren was silent. "You were the best friend I'd ever had, you were closer to me than a brother. Then you destroyed it all. You--you made him leave. And now you're searching for him again. Why?"
"So I can finish what I started." Kylo Ren waved his hand, and Sam fell into his arms.

Rey burst out of the trees. "Finn," she shrieked. "Han!" They turned to her. "Sam--in the forest--Ren--he--" Han grabbed Rey's shoulders.
"Slow down," he said. "What's going on?" Rey took a deep breath.
"Sam's fighting Kylo Ren in the forest. She gave me the map. It's right here." Rey handed Han the map.
"Let's go," a stormtrooper yelled. Han, Finn, Rey, and Chewie turned around. The stormtroopers all ran into a ship. Then they saw Kylo Ren carrying Sam into the ship.
"No," Rey screamed. She ran towards Kylo Ren. Finn grabbed her. "Sam," she yelled. Finn held her back. "Let me go," Rey shrieked.
"Rey, Rey. Rey! Stop struggling. We can't go and get her. We don't have enough people. Rey!" The ship slowly rose into the air. Rey stopped struggling. She just let Finn hold on to her while she watched the ship disappear. "I'm sorry, Rey," Finn said.
"Let me go," Rey said, quietly. Finn obeyed.

Sam woke up on a First Order ship, tied to a chair. Kylo Ren was sitting across from her. "Comfortable," he asked.
"Take off that stupid mask," Sam said. Kylo Ren did what he was told, shaking his hair out. Sam stared at his face. "You've grown," she said.
"You have, too." Sam's eyes welled up with tears. Her cousin was beautiful. It had been years since she had seen him. Sam closed her eyes. She heard Kylo Ren's boots thudding on the floor. She felt him stop beside her, then his hand was stroking her hair. "I'm sorry," he whispered again. Sam heard a click, then a whoosh, and her arms were free. Sam opened her eyes. Kylo Ren hugged her awkwardly. Sam burst into tears, and hugged him back. "I missed you," he said.
"I missed you, too," Sam said.
"Everyone thought you were dead." Kylo Ren hugged her tighter.
"Are you crying," Sam sobbed.
"Yeah," Kylo Ren said. They pulled away from each other. They awkwardly reached for each other's faces, and brushed away their tears. "I'm sorry, but I have to--"
"I know," Sam said, leaning back in the chair. She let Kylo Ren put the restraints back on her.
"I'd try to get the map from you, but--"
"I'm too strong for you to take on." Kylo Ren chuckled.
"You always have been." Sam smirked. "Besides," Kylo Ren added, "I know the girl will come after you." Sam's smile faded.
"Stay away from her. I'm warning you." Kylo Ren shrugged, putting his mask back on.
"I make no promises."

At the Resistance base, Rey walked beside Han, telling him everything that had happened in the clearing. "He called her Samantha Skywalker--" Han froze. "It makes no sense," Rey continued. "Sam isn't a Skywalker. She's strong with the Force, but--" Rey stared at Han, shocked. "Is she?" Han sighed.
"Yes." Rey was silent. Han placed his hand on her shoulder. "Rey--"
"Tell me everything," she ordered. Han sighed again.
"Kid, what do you know about Samantha Skywalker?"
"She was the daughter of Luke Skywalker and Isabella Jae. She showed a remarkable ability to use the Force from a young age. But, she died when she was three years old, right before Luke disappeared. I thought she was only a myth, though."
"She was the daughter of Luke and Isabella. They had her a few years after my son was born. Sam and Ben were very, very close. They were more like siblings than cousins. Sam could use the Force very well for a three year old. But she didn't die when she was three. She went to train to use the Force with Ben and the other students at that age. Ben flat out refused to leave without her. When the student destroyed Luke's training academy, Isabella, Leia, Luke, and I agreed to make the world believe Sam was dead."
"Why," Rey asked.
"To protect her, and anyone who met her afterwards. If the First Order knew Samantha Skywalker was alive, they would search the galaxy for her. No one would be safe."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Han sighed, and ran a hand through his hair.
"Sam asked me not to tell anyone. She wanted to be able to tell her story herself, and to who she chose."
"Why didn't she tell me?"
"She wanted to protect you. Sam lo-- cares for you more than anyone. She believes you're the only one who hasn't abandoned her." Han squeezed Rey's shoulder. "Come on, kid. Let's go talk to Leia about getting Sam back." Rey nodded, and followed Han into the base.

Sam looked around her cell. She needed to get out, to make sure she found Rey before Kylo Ren found her. If anything were to happen to Rey--
Come on, Sam. Clear your head. Sam shook her head. She concentrated, and used the Force to take off her restraints. She hopped out of the chair, and ran into the hall, shooting the stormtroopers guarding her cell. She began to make her way to the escape pods. She would get back to Rey. She had to.
