I Meet Some New Friends

"Welcome to the Rebellion, Estrella."

As I was led down the stark white hallways toward the command center, I was mildly surprised at how different everything was. I guess I was so used to the dark and grey hallways of a star destroyer that I must have forgotten what other ships look like.

The doors slid open to the command center, and everyone standing around the holo- table looked up at me; all except for a togruta. A lasat, a young boy maybe around 15, a twi'lek, a mandalorian girl by the looks of it, and finally a tall man around my age of 28. Finally, the togruta looked up and I immediately recognized her face.

"Ahsoka Tano...?" I asked incredulously, not believing my eyes.

Ahsoka smiled and nodded. "Hello Estrella. I've heard a lot about you, and know you also served in the Clone War."

It took a minute for me to reply. "Uhh, yes. But... how do you know this?"

"I have connections," she replied. "But never mind that. I need to speak with you."

She waved the others away and told them to carry out her mission, and soon it was just us.

After a moment of silence, I finally spoke. "What is this? Who are you guys?"

Ahsoka turned to me. "What is this? This is Phoenix Squadron, a small part of the rebel cells scattered across the galaxy. We are trying to free the galaxy from the Empire."

"And you do it... together..." I comment.

"Why yes. And you could be a part of this rebellion, if you choose."

I shook my head. "I'm sorry, but I can't. I'm not good at this. I have my own mission to continue."

"Estrella, I know who you are. I've seen what you can do. But, if you choose not to, I understand. Please, though, consider the offer. It's not every day we find someone as skilled as you."

"Thank you, Ahsoka, for everything. But I don't think I'm ready for all of this. I'm sorry."

I began to walk out, but stopped and turned back toward her. "Just one question," I pursue. "Where's Tooka?"

(-0-)

Ahsoka led me down more white hallways toward a small room where Tooka was. The rebels had made sure he was cared for and he seemed very content. I was glad, but I knew we couldn't stay forever. Ahsoka addressed me one more time before we left.

"You may leave whenever you're ready. But... please still consider, Estrella. We could benefit greatly from you."

"I understand. Thank you again, Ahsoka. I will consider... it just might be a while."

She nodded in understanding. "Oh, before you go," she stopped me. "Take this."

She held up a cloaked binary beacon and pressed it into my palm. I took it and placed it on my belt.

"For if you ever decide to come back, it will give you our exact coordinates."

"Thank you," I replied and with Tooka, I made my way to our ship.

Once in there, I made my way to the cockpit and sank into the seat. I sighed. I felt terrible for declining Ahsoka's offer, but I had one more kyber crystal to find. One last mission. I fired up the controls and the ship hummed to life. Tooka must have sensed it because he came into the cockpit and took his usual seat.

"Kyber crystal?" he asked.

"Kyber crystal," I replied and the ship detached from the cruiser.

Far enough away, we plunged into hyperspace. The blue light filled the ship, casting its light over everything. Here is where I relayed all the information to Tooka.

"Okay, Tooka, so the place we have to go to is very dangerous-"

"More dangerous than the countless others we went to?" Tooka cut in with a smirk.

I ignored his comment and continued on. "This bounty hunter I have to acquire it from... he knows of all the 'troublemakers' of the galaxy. If he finds me out, he'll trade me in in a heartbeat and gain a large sum of credits for it too. We have to be extremely careful."

He nodded obediently. "I understand."

"Good," I replied. "Now let's get that last kyber crystal."

Emerging from hyperspace, we flew into the atmosphere and landed on the planet Moorja. The planet seemed desolate with a small town but I knew it held more secrets than it showed. We walked into the town, but I was kept on high alert because I knew this place wasn't friendly. Most places in the galaxy weren't. I followed the path I was given toward the meeting place but before I had time to react, a strange smell engulfed my senses and I sank into darkness.
