Part: 32 || Front lines
KYLO REN
"No!
She won't understand!" Uncle Luke harshly whispered in Leia's direction. She paced the room, visibly anxious. Anger reverberated around the room in waves, the Force buzzed in every direction yet stuck in one place causing it to burn through they're very skin.
I had to attempt to focus on less in the room to merely stay conscious without the Force meddling with my thoughts.
My fingers curled tightly around the wooden post that hid the rest of my body. Seeing mother like this, so distraught, caused a tinge of sadness in my heart.
"Leia!" Luke's robes flitted about as he swung his arm to rest his hand on the bridge of his nose, releasing a stressed sigh.
"Leia, it must be done."
"Obi-Wan wouldn't have wanted this for her." She sighed as she now stood in front of her brother.
A tendril of my dark hair fell in front of my face, blocking Luke from view momentarily. Closing my eyes completely, my mind tried to focus on their words and their meaning. After minutes of standing there mindlessly listening to them bicker, their voices drifting into white noise, my thoughts sifted down to one question.
What was happening with Kira?
They couldn't possibly be talking about any other female in the academy. No one was as skilled as her at such a young age. Well, almost no one, even if I was slightly older my force abilities had tripled since...
My fists clenched, as my heart sped up only slightly. He's here. His presence was strong, it still amazed me how well he could hide from Luke and mother.
'Come back to me, Ben.' His voice echoed through my skull like a siren's song. Louring me back to his sith domain. No, what I have done is not usual practice for a Jedi in training. What I want to accomplish begs more attention then a Jedi could ever give. I am more powerful now than I have ever been.
I have made my decision.
I turned and left the dark hallway, my black cloak dragging as it concealed me while I drifted out of Luke's quarters and into the night.

"Lord Ren. We are approaching D'Quar's atmosphere."
Kylo Ren, realizing his stoop, perks his head up slightly in response as he sat by the closed exit ramp of the ship. Usually, only the troopers used this lane but he decided that if he wanted more respect from his army, then he needed to be apart of it.
The troopers tried their hardest not to glance at him, or even think about him. They all used internal coms on a separate channel from the rest as an escape or a safe haven. To speak with one another freely, without the watchful eyes of their superiors. Speaking through their helmets, the conversations had multiple topics but they were also focused on the man cloaked in black that sat surprisingly non-military-like in their small hanger.
Kylo knew they were curious, he simply didn't care. That didn't stop him from prying into their personal thoughts. Not that it was difficult due to how loud they were through the Force.
'Why is he here?'
'If I get more than fifty kills on this raid, Trace owes me some of his C'bacc liquor.'
'I could die today.'
'I'm scared.'
'I don't want to die.'
'My allegiance is to my leader.'
'Wasn't he on Starkiller when it blew? How did he escape?'
Kylo kept his hands braided together within his thick leather gloves. His elbows resting on the tips of his knees for support as he slightly leaned forward. All the troopers sitting a foot across from him took up caution and leaned back half an inch, knowing full well of their leaders terrifying capabilities. He was violent and deranged, you didn't need special force powers to sense that.
The vessel jolted as the familiar hum of engines faltered. The lights flickered from a bright white to a dim red as a small alarm began to set an eerie vibe.
If everyone wasn't wearing armor I'm sure you would see bobbing throats from the amount of anxious moving and fidgeting in place.
Kylo took a deep breath. He was ready, he was prepared, he had the training, he had his weapon and a legion of troopers and assassins behind him ready to obey at any cost.
A voice broke his train of thought as it was broadcasted throughout the ship, "we have entered Cloud Line Level. Proceeding to Ground Level. Prepare for evac." The voice was silenced by the end of the transmission and they were all enveloped by silence once more, that was before he took this chance to speak.
"Know this." Kylo's deep voice bellowed through his voice receptor as he continued to speak, the face of his helmet not even lifting to look at them.
"Many of you will face death today. And when you do, face it like you've already won the war."
Many of them were surprised at his outburst, although they continued to listen until they realized that was all he intended to say. One trooper looked at him through his dark visor and said the only thing that came to mind.
"Yes, sir."
Slowly, the rest of the troopers began to recite the same message. When one soldier said it, the next repeated it even stronger and so on. Until they all swore they're allegiance once more before the hanger door opened. Bright daylight flooding in as well as dust that floated through the air. The troopers filed out quickly, jogging off into their row formations and joining the other part of the army.
Kylo Ren stepped from the ramp. His boots sunk into the grass slightly, as the sun beat down on his black attire. He surveyed his surroundings, gray clouds scattered the electric blue sky as the sudden breeze blew them over head the fields of grass that skirted the Resistance base. His filters prevented him from soaking in the newly oxygenated air, but he could almost smell the difference. It smelled clean, it felt fresh. Yet, he knew that only in a matter of minutes, smoke would billow from every ship and building that rested at the enemy base.
He shook himself from the thought and trudged forward, his lightsaber hilt slapping at his thigh as he climbed a small hill to reunite with his unit. The white-clad army clawed onward, into the maw of the Resistance. As they reached the perimeter a loud alarm whirred throughout the base and everyone sprung into action.
'This was it.' Thought Kylo; 'today, the war will come to a close.'
