Short Story| Surrender - fem!Aries x male!Cancer

Me: Yosh! I've been reading many stories regarding about Zodiacs and I'm in love with it! So in order to quench my thirst for reading fanfics about them, I have decided to write one for my own entertainment and for everyone. Here's the thing, I've always wanted to read a fem!Aries X male!Cancer sometime now! I've been imagining many angsty prompts for these two and it just won't end that easily. With Aries' adventurous aura and their determination to everything, and Cancer's gentle and cool aura and their caring personality, this ship really is one of my OTP! Can't help it lol. Opposites attract.

Ophiuchus: ...

Me: I also ship Opiuchus to Cancer lol. XD I've read the novel, Zodiac by Romina Russell, for one year now, and damn it's so good! I'm a sucker for star-crossed lovers.

Ophiuchus: ...

Me: Damn it. Say something!

Ophiuchus: ...Hey..

Me: -_- You tried. Anyway! I'm a Cancer guys! ^^ I'm loquacious aren't I? Well, I'm only talkative in online but in real life? HAHAHAHA! Yeah.. Maybe I'll write a bit about myself next time. Comment down your Zodiac sign if you want. I don't mind. ^^

WARNING: This one shot contains a lot of cuss, which is really new because I don't really use profanities in my stories, only the minor ones like 'damn, dammit etc.' if deemed necessary. So if you guys are uncomfortable, please bear with me. There's also a dark theme ahead, but nothing too drastic so don't worry. All-in-all, just relax and enjoy this my dearies~

NOTE: Criticisms are always welcome but if it is a flame, please keep it for yourself. Thank you. :)

This is dedicated to all Aries out there who always wanted to read a story about fem!Aries this time! You're welcome! ^^

Characters:

Male: Cancer, Scorpio, Gemini, Sagittarius and Virgo
Female: Aries, Leo and Pisces

..~*~..

"Yo Aries!" A boyish bubbly voice resounded the walls of a nearly deserted halls. The squeaking of the shoes didn't go unnoticed as footsteps began to barrel their way towards their target: Aries.

It had only been their dismissal and everyone had probably went home to their humble abode, eager to escape the everliving hell of a prison. Everyone, except Aries and her unknown assailant.

Aries could only heave an annoyed sigh as she took out her books from her locker. She then slammed her locker shut just as the 5'8 foot tall auburn haired guy appeared beside her with a goofy grin that would've mistaken as a 6 year old kid. Aries leaned her side against the lockers, her books confined in her arms which were crossed on her chest. She sent a death glare towards the water sign to show her annoyance towards him.

"It's you again. What do you want now."

Her voice- cold as ice and sharp as the dagger that continuously stabs his heart with no mercy at all was the only thing he can pay attention to. As much as Aries hates him (reasons unknown to anyone and him), Cancer, was in fact, feeling the opposite way. It was the smallest yet meaningful things that made her outshine everyone. The little things he couldn't help but admire: her immense determination towards everything, that passion igniting within her soulful hazelnut eyes, and that ability of never giving up- something that he had always wanted to acquire.

Yes, Cancer wants to be like Aries as she had always been an inspiration for him.

Cancer had always received many feedbacks from everyone, saying that he's emotional and couldn't even do everything right. Though good in hiding his emotions pretty well (but not as good as his best bud, Scorpio), that doesn't mean it hurts him deep inside. He knows that it's just their opinions but it still hurts nonetheless.

That's why when he saw Aries beat up some rascals one day that were assaulting her and a girl (which he had learned later on is Leo) without the help of her friends, he couldn't help but feel inspired just by watching idly from the sidelines. He knew that Aries is a competitive woman and has no interest in dealing with idiots (as she would always tell), but that stunt she made to protect herself and someone is enough for him to conclude that this very woman would be the one to claim his heart.

And indeed she did, only oblivious that she did without much of a care. But who was he to say that when Aries didn't even had the slightest knowledge of his feelings for her?

"Um... I was just wondering-" she rudely cuts him off.

"Either you get out of here or I'll be the last one you'll ever see in your entire life." She threatened with a stiff posture. Cancer didn't pay no heed of the painful throbbing in his heart as he could only think that if ever that were the case, then he can die happy.

"No wait, let me clarify- hold on a minute..." Cancer gave Aries a befuddled look, "were you insinuating that I am going to ask-"

"No!" Aries flushed beet red in either embarrassment or anger, Cancer wasn't sure. But he's sure it's the latter because she snapped angrily at him. "If you ever think that I was thinking that, then you got it all wrong! Who are you to conclude something that would not even happen at all?!" Despite her small frame in a foot of 5'1, her glare could resemble to one of a dragon as she started jabbing her finger at his chest, fuming. "Who do you think you are?!"

Cancer could only take a step back- which is a grave mistake for him. For him, it's a sign of vulnerability, and he doesn't want that but this has gotta happen. Cancer tried to calm the small but terrible woman in front of him with a stutter. "N-no! That's not what I mean!"

"Enough! I've had enough of seeing your face for one day Cancer!" Storming pass by him with a snooty manner as she intentionally bumped his shoulder with hers, she barreled herself through the silent halls with a stomp and left Cancer without much of a look, unaware of that heartbroken dampen electric blue eyes that were trailing after her retreating form. He tried to stay optimistic, but that previous scenario was only minimizing his confidence incessantly in just a short period of time.

Just one more, he promised as he practically dragged his feet in the hallways with a heavy heart, I'll get this right tomorrow. I'll make sure of it.

His eyes shut close, an excruciating pain clutching his heart like a venomous plague. But damn did it hurt.

..~*~..

"Omg. Like seriously? That weirdo was with you in the hall?" A scoff could be heard from the other line, "That guy should learn how to respect a lady's privacy! He has no manners at all!"

Aries was currently on her bed, lying lazily with her school works sprawled like litters on the bedsheets. Aries rolled her eyes and began inspecting her fingernails.

"I know right? He just doesn't know when to give up." She said, frowning. "It's quite annoying if not impressive."

"Aries, you should just beat the living shit out of him just like what you did to my ego." Aries scowled at this.

"Leo, for the fucking last time, I didn't do it for you! I did it for myself because those bastards are harassing us!"

"Well aren't you being selfish right now, Ries? You should've at least given the pretty lady a warning yes? I mean- I could also kick the living shit out of them!"

"Whatever! Past is past, and there's nothing you can do about it so shut up already! My god.." Aries groaned, sitting up. "Look, I called you because I want to rant about Cancer's idiotic appearance in school, not to argue with you over a simple matter!"

"Girl? Hello, it could never be a simple matter when you just hurt my pride back then!"

"Why am I even talking to you?" Aries sighed, willing herself not to explode to her best friend. "Whatever. I need my rest. A lot of things were happening, and this shitloads of a homework won't stop piling up on my table."

"Hah! Sucks to be you, bitch! At least I take care of my homeworks unlike someone ranting about her boyfriend!"

Aries fumed, "That freak is not my boyfriend!" An uneasy fluttering on her stomach ensue made her surprise, and her voice faltered a bit. "A-and I'm going to do my homeworks so quit shitting around!"

"Did you hesitate for a bit there?" There's a teasing tone in Leo's voice which made Aries snap.

"You're dead tomorrow bitch."

"Oooh, I'm scared." Before Aries had the chance to reply, Leo quickly end the call with a sing-song, "Bye~" then the line went cut.

The nerve of that girl, Aries thought with a small scowl as she threw her phone on her bed. But what was that fluttering feeling just now? Aries bit her lips, quite glad that no one can see her worrying over something so unimportant.

..~*~..

Cancer entered the classroom early with a depressing aura as he made his way towards his assigned chair when Pisces took him by the arm.

"How did it go Cancer?" Before he has the chance to reply, Pisces quickly made him sit on a vacant seat beside her which he could vaguely remember that belongs to Virgo. The class doesn't start soon for 15 minutes so it's fine. Cancer sighed, putting his bag down as his shoulders slouched with a defeated look. Pisces immediately recognized it and her hopeful smile turned upside down. "Oh Cancer..."

"Who am I anyway?" Cancer just bitterly smiled and looked away from Pisces, feeling guilty for shattering her hopes up. "I'm so sorry Pi. I know you believe in me, but I was only crushing your fighting spirit." Cancer then groans as he slumped in Virgo's seat. "Gods, I really want to give up now but I can't bring myself to. I'm such a fool."

"You'll be more than just a fool if you're just going to give up that easily." A gruff voice joined their conversation, and Cancer could only run his fingers through his auburn hair.

"For the love of gods Scorpio don't just suddenly appear out of nowhere all the time! I swear if this continues, I'll be force to punch you with no accord."

Scorpio just gave his best friend a friendly smirk before sitting down on Pisces' table. "Did you bring me food, Can?"

Cancer gave him a dark look, "Bring your own jackass. You know I'm having problems here and the first thing you ask me is food?!"

Scorpio just shrugs and takes Pisces' bag and opens it. Plucking out a chip, he said, "Pisces cares for me a lot than you. You disappoint me." Scorpio just gave him a mocking disappointing look.

"Burn to hell, Scorp. You disappoint me too." Cancer mutters under his breath. "Taking Pisces' food without considering her feelings first.."

Pisces could only give a hearty laugh. "Aw come on you two! Quit fighting! And I don't mind if Scorpio takes my food." She grins.

"See? She cares for me." Scorpio said, ripping open the chips. Cancer rolls his eyes.

"You can have my biscuits Can. I don't mind." Pisces smiled.

"Nah, it's okay. I have my own. Just promise me Scorpio won't take it." Cancer glares at the mysterious boy, who isn't as mysterious as it was before with that cocky grin of his.

"I don't think that's how it works."

"Shut up and just eat your chips, my god.." Cancer said, feeling depressed once more.

And in correct timing, the fire trio entered the classroom. Aries and Leo were bickering while Sagittarius trails behind them with a look that signifies, 'why am I even dealing with this women every morning'.

Cancer watched Aries in silence and quickly gave a small smile at her when her eyes landed on his. To say that his heart was malfunctioning is an understatement but it's not. It really is malfunctioning; beating an abnormally fast pace than normal, and his breathing hitching, these are symptoms that give proof that Cancer is undeniably in love with Aries.

Aries, on the other hand, realized her mistake and quickly scowled at Cancer before looking away lividly. It is Thursday today so that means Cancer is in her class. Aries continues scowling as she slammed her things on the table with a huff.

"Girl, relax! My god..." Leo just rolled her eyes at Aries and took a seat beside her. Sagittarius left them as he put down his things on his seat that is behind Virgo's chair.

"You're telling me to relax when that freak...!" There it is again. That uneasy feeling. Aries was really getting more confused and livid. Whenever she mentions him, that feeling just erupts deep in her stomach and she doesn't like it.

"Aries, you're hesitating again." Leo gave her a look, "Don't tell me you're changing your opinion towards that guy?"

"WHAT THE HELL, NO!" Aries slammed her hands on her table, her aura growing more dangerous. Pisces almost jumped at Aries' uproar. Scorpio and Sagittarius could only watch nonchalantly while Cancer deliberately placed a concerned hand on Pisces' shoulders as he watched Aries with widened eyes. "Leo... you.."

What Leo said next was too soft to be heard for everyone aside from Aries. Having fed up, she quickly went to Cancer with burning hatred. Upon sensing that, an immense pain erupted on his heart as he tried to calm himself down from breathing shallowly. The pain was unbearable. It's just too much. Hiding his emotions too well, he just gave her a confused look as she snarled, "Dismissal time. In the garden at the gazebo. I'm finishing this business of yours so don't ever think of being late." With that, she stormed out of the room.

Cancer just watched her dumbfounded for a moment as she purposely slammed the door shut, creating a sound as loud as a gunshot. Everything was quiet for a while aside from the crunching of the chips that were induced by Scorpio, and Cancer slowly found himself hanging his head low, finding Virgo's table more interesting than everything that had just transpired in the room. Scorpio just continued eating his chips; but when he spoke, it was hidden with silent concern and sincerity.

"Can, you know where we are."

Pisces came next. "Cross the bridge okay?"

Cancer didn't reply, but he knew they meant well. Everyone would not understand what Scorp and Pisces means but to Cancer, he knows.

He knows he'll be needing them after his meet-up with Aries.

..~*~..

Throughout the whole morning and afternoon, Aries was nowhere to be seen. It's almost as if she was absent for today. Cancer was really worried for her, and decided to ask Sag (he tried Leo but she's been giving him a nasty glare) if she went home early. To his disappointment, Sag said that Aries only skipped her morning class and fourth class- the classes he only had with her. And honestly, he was thoroughly hurt and upset that Aries would go this far just to avoid him. Was she really against him? What did he do to make her act brashly towards him? Was he being too straightforward? Does she hate him that much?

Negative thoughts continued swarming at the recesses of his mind until dismissal time as he walked lifelessly towards his lockers. Upon reaching his destination, Cancer only stood there without moving a muscle with his hand coiled at the handle on a tight grip, debating whether or not to shove his books or just slam his head on the tin surface. Someone cleared their throat and Cancer snapped away from his trance.

"You alright there buddy? You've been staring at the locker for a minute now." The class jester of his Chemistry class, Gemini, said. He grinned. "Lockers could be as interesting as the cars I've seen in the mall last Saturday. If only I had a lot of money, I could buy those babies and take them for a stroll!"

"What the hell are you talking about..." Cancer just gave him a tired look, then sighed before opening his locker. As he was shoving his books inside, Gemini shut his locker with a shrug.

"I didn't expect for you to understand me, in which I did 'cause you're like- Mr. Know-It-All with that intuitive ability of yours." Gemini leaned on his locker with a disappointed look, "You disappoint your water sign dude. So saaaad." Gemini pouted and Cancer could only really give him a very weird look as he shut his locker.

"I do understand. I just don't feel like it at the moment." Fixing the straps of his bag, he left Gemini, "Excuse me. I have an appointment to accomplish."

"Good luck talking to Aries, Can!" Gemini yelled after him, and Cancer froze. He turned around to ask him but to his surprise, Gemini was not there anymore, as if he wasn't even there in the first place. Cancer blinked then sighed, palming his forehead in aggravation.

"That guy..." He muttered, lowering his hand before turning around to venture his way towards the assigned place that Aries had just told him when suddenly; he slammed with someone in extra force as that someone had been running towards him in extreme speed. Cancer almost recoiled but still retained his balance while his assailant was unlucky as they had fallen on the floor from the impact, mumbling curses and a few groans then and there. Cancer held out his hand for them to lift them up, only to be slapped away with a growl. Only at that moment did Cancer realize that Aries was the one who he had slammed with as she gave him an evil-eye.

"You idiotic jerk!" Aries fussed, standing up quickly on her feet. "What is your deal huh?! Were you looking for a fight, because I can sure as hell give you one!" Cancer frowned a bit, not liking where there is going.

"Aries please. I'm not here to fight with you. It was only an accident. If not, you're supposed to be apologizing right now as you were the one who slammed onto me." Aries trembled in anger; and to Cancer's surprise, Aries had landed a punch on his cheek as his face swerved on the side to accommodate the stinging sensation. Everything was still for a while, aside from Aries' unstable breathing. To say that Aries was surprised is impossible, but she is. She was only intending to yell at him but her defensive instincts kicked in before she has the chance to acknowledge them. Words of apology is filling in her lips, but as the proud girl she usually is, she swallowed them down like a lump on her throat and forced a satisfied look.

"T-that's what you get for b-blaming me." Forcing herself to face him vis-a-vis as she took a handful of his collar, she took a small look at his face and saw the purplish bruise forming on his cheek which made her almost flinch in guilt. She couldn't see his electric blue eyes as they were hidden beneath his auburn fringes, but she still continued with that harsh disposition despite the unknown painful ailment forming somewhere in her chest. "As of today, I want n-nothing to do with you. Yo-you better get that to that t-thick skull of yours." Shoving him away, she sassily walks away, a prickling sensation forming in her eyes. She has to get away from here before-

The moment she shut her eyes, tears flowed down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them away, letting out a shuddering breath.

"It can't be...right?"

..~*~..

"Damn, I never knew you would take my advice." Leo laughed from the other line as Aries went out of her bathroom, drying her red dyed waist length hair with a towel. "I mean- you're Aries! Come on! You never listen!"

"I didn't do it because you told me to!" Aries yelled as she went to the table where her phone is. "He was being so annoying that I had to punch him! Who was he to blame me when it's all his fault to begin with!"

"Aries, I know you're pissed off and all but even I have a heart of gold to do such a thing like that. Give the guy a break!"

"You mean the freak right?" Aries bit her lips as the thought of Cancer not being a freak.

"Whatever. Freak it is." Aries could feel Leo rolling her eyes. Aries sat down on her study table, pausing for a while, debating whether she should tell Leo what had just transpired a while ago or not.

"I don't know why I'm telling you this but a while ago before arriving home, I thought someone is following me." Aries frowned as she recalled the alleyway she took to get an easy access towards her home. At this, Aries could sense Leo's interest at her story when she could hear a sound of a pen falling on the table. How studious, Aries thought with an eye roll.

"Are you serious? You don't think it's Cancer following you is he now?" Aries doesn't know why but she suddenly felt livid all of a sudden.

"Cancer?! After everything I just said to him in the hallways, you think it's Cancer?!" She fumed, vexed that her best friend is accusing Cancer. Nope. She's not defending him. She was just definitely livid that if that were the case then that guy doesn't know how to leave a woman at all. "It's not Cancer for Pete's sake, Leo! Why were you accusing him of something he-"

"Calm down why don't you Aries! It's just an honest guess!" Leo's tone is akin to something upset, "I was just guessing! Why are you so cooped up with such a matter? You sound as if you're defending him all of a sudden."

"For your information, I'm not defending him! After everything he did to me, did you ever think for a single second that I would consider doing something like that for him?"

"Okay okay! You need a chill pill my god.." Leo could only sigh, and the sound of the papers ruffling is what could be heard from the line. "So, if it's not Cancer-"

"It's not him!"

"Let me finish for fuck's sake Aries!" Leo snapped, and Aries immediately shuts up after hearing that tone. As much as powerful Aries is, if Leo uses that tone, she means business. "Okay, if NOT Cancer, then who?"

Aries sighed, surprisingly defeated, "I don't know, but I think they're many. About three considering their footsteps?"

"Three people following you? My god," Leo said, "I never knew I would be suggesting this but we have to persuade Sag to escort you home every now and then."

"Sag?" Aries laughed, thankful for Leo for suggesting something so stupid enough to make her laugh for an uneventful event like this. "Of all people, Sag? His home is already far from where I am, and you're telling me that Sag should accompany me?" Aries snorted another laugh. She could almost feel Leo rolling her eyes at her with a pout.

"Bitch, I'm serious. It's not everyday I cared for you you know?"

"Who told you to look after me anyway?" Aries laughs once more, "I mean, seriously. The only thing you care about is your own self. Isn't that surprising?"

"I bring dishonor to my fire sign then, whatever." Leo was definitely scowling right now, Aries thought with a grin. "But seriously, reconsider it. You may be proud that you have knowledge about fighting but you're still a woman. Learn to be more aware." Aries blinked.

"Leo? I think you're spending too much time with Virgo.."

"Ugh! I'm hanging up now! This is going out offhand! If you'll excuse me, I have to finish this thesis for Laws. Virgo will flip if he realized that I'm just chit-chatting with you." Leo groans from the other line, "Anyway, don't forget what I said. I hate you bitch."

"I hate me too." Aries mumbled and the line went off. Aries gave a big sigh, watching her phone on the table die down before leaning on her chair as she stared at the ceiling above. Glow in the dark stars are what she can see in her light red ceiling, as she frowned.

Cancer... I wonder how he's doing right now..

..~*~..

"Weird... I couldn't see Cancer everywhere." Aries mumbled out the next morning, as she walked towards the cafeteria for recess. Leo, Sagittarius and, surprisingly, Virgo are already in their reserved table, talking animatedly over something that is probably stupid.

"Morning." Aries greeted and sat down beside Leo who was eating a salad. Aries scrunched her nose in disgust. "Girl, seriously? Salad in the morning?"

"I need to keep my healthy diet unlike someone who loves French fries." Leo said, taking another spoonful of greens. Aries cocks an eyebrow at her, taking out her recess from the bag.

"Who doesn't like French fries? They're amazing!"

"Yeah, for you." Leo rolls her eyes, "See?" She pointed out when Aries opened up her paper bag that is filled with French fries. "Aries, you need real food, not that garbage."

"If you're just going to insult my recess then shut the hell up and both of us can mind our business." Aries scowled, angrily taking a bite of her fries. Leo just rolled her eyes but did not say anything.

"I see Cancer isn't here." Sagittarius immediately replied after the semi-argument of Aries and Leo. Aries stopped mid-way while Leo just continued eating. "But Scorpio and Pisces are." He said, bobbing his head at a certain direction. Aries followed where he was pointing at, and indeed only two of the water signs are there. But was it just her or does Pisces seem to be crying back there? Aries went back to her eating, scowling.

"Yeah, and so? Who cares?" She does. She definitely cares. Aries had to keep her composure as she calmly eats her fries. Sagittarius just cocks a brow at her.

"Aries." Aries looked at Sagittarius, who has this serious vibe radiating off of him. "You have no rights to say that."

Aries snapped at this, "Excuse me? Who told you that I'm not allowed to say what I want to say? If anything, that's his fault!"

"You were giving him a hard time Aries!" Sag yelled, slamming his hands on the table as he shot out of his seat. If there's also anyone who has thin patience other than Aries, that's Sagittarius. The cafeteria went quiet after Sag's outburst but he doesn't care. With his brown eyes flaring in anger, Aries also finds herself standing up against her close brotherly friend, an equal amount of anger being sent towards him.

"And you say he wasn't doing anything to me as well? Why is everyone dead set against me as if I'm the culprit?! What have I done to deserve this? This was all Cancer's fault!" Aries yelled, angry tears prickling on her eyes once more. "Why are you siding with him? I thought-"

"Aries, for fuck's sake, this isn't about taking anyone's side! This is about how you-!"

"Enough!" Virgo's voice sliced through the atmosphere loud enough to stop Sag's sentence.

Silence ensued next, the atmosphere more tense than intended. Leo could only give an exasperated sigh as she rubbed her temples. Virgo calmly made the two livid fire signs to take a seat, using force in any means if needed. Aries and Sag sat down, calming down a bit though there's still an underlying anger for each other. Virgo gave an apologizing look at everyone, and the cafeteria began minding their own business, pointing at their group a bit now and then. Virgo then looked at Aries in the eye.

"I could tell you didn't hear the news about Cancer yet."

Aries' anger eased down when Virgo mentioned Cancer as her eyes widened. Aries couldn't help the worry eating her system as she looked at Sag who went quiet all of a sudden, scrolling through his phone without a care in the world. Leo was also avoiding eye contact with her while eating her salad with gusto, which is very unusual for her to do so.

"Cancer? Why? What happened?" Her voice is so soft, so caring and soothing as she leaned in at Virgo who was seated across her. Her heart's beating erratically fast as negative thoughts of possibilities that could happen to Cancer swarmed through her mind like a torrential storm. Virgo looked at her, jaded.

"Last night, news had it that Cancer stumbled upon a group of thugs who was following a woman in the alleyway." Aries' heart leapt through her throat, thinking only one possibility that seems relevant but she needs to be sure first. "But they didn't had the chance to because their plan backfired when Cancer took the chance when she's still far away from them."

"Which resulted with him beaten up into a pulp." Sagittarius continued for Virgo who still had his eyes on his phone. Aries glanced at him for a moment before looking at Virgo for confirmation who only nodded in reply.

"How come.." Aries took a shallow breath as she willed herself to calm down but to no avail. "How come I never heard of this..?"

"We didn't. We only heard the news from Gemini this morning." Leo suddenly replied, "You know that guy, always updated."

"Gemini? You actually believed in him? What if it's just a fluke-"

"Unfortunately, it's not Aries." Leo said, "Pisces confirmed it as well, and I'm sure Scorpio does too even though he's not saying anything for the matter." Leo then looked at her in the eye, "Not only that, Aries, you remember those bastards you've beaten before in the hallways? They were in hot pursuit after you for revenge, Cancer even said that to his close friends."

Aries could feel herself hyperventilating so she stood up hastily and left the cafeteria. Leo just clicked her tongue in annoyance as she continued eating her salad.

"I didn't even had the chance to tell her the big news yet.."

"Have mercy Leo. I think one news is enough. I could tell that Aries is breaking down right now after that small scene she just enunciated." Sag said, finally keeping his phone. To Leo's expectations, he took Aries' recess and started eating on her fries. Leo just gave him a deadpan look as Virgo also took a handful of fries when Sag beckoned for him to take one as well.

"Boys..." Leo rolled her eyes and continued eating her salad.

..~*~..

Aries wanted to chat with Pisces after school, but she couldn't bring herself to. Either she's too proud or she felt embarrassed talking to Cancer's closest friends when all she has ever done to him was give him a cold shoulder, so who was she to care right? She didn't care for him at all before right? Then why the hell is she so bothered? Aries could only sigh as their teacher dismissed them. She was supposed to be cheering since it's Friday now, but that Cancer made her worry. So worried that she didn't know that her legs are leading her where the water signs are huddle at.

The first one who saw her is Scorpio who gave this intimidating vibe that sends shivers down her spine, but heck this is Aries. Nothing could deflate her.

"Hey." Aries mentally cussed at herself for the lame greeting, only to stop. Who cares? It's just a greeting for fuck's sake. She's here to ask not to impress. "I was wondering how Cancer's doing?"

To say that Aries is feeling unnerved is an understatement but at this very moment, she is getting unnerved at the water sign duo's silence and staring. It's as if they're looking deep within her soul, searching for her true self.

"Hello Aries," Pisces smiled at her, and Aries had only realized how stiff her posture is. Since when was she nervous? But that doesn't matter, Aries relaxed a bit and thanked the girl. However, Scorpio was still looking at her, still radiating with that intimidating aura. So rude, Aries held back and just decided to focus on Pisces who seemed friendlier than that mysterious guy.

"He's doing fine. Just... unwell.." Pisces cheery aura deflated and Scorpio's aura only grew immense than the last one. This is interesting, Aries thought, these signs are well-balanced than I do. Aries clutched her bag, taking every ounce of her courage to ask for his address.

"Could you tell me his address? I want to visit him."

"Why?" Scorpio spoke this time before Pisces had the chance to reply. Scorpio's gaze did not waver as he looked down at her, "Why do you care? It's not everyday you asked for his welfare, so why? Why, getting worried for him now?" Aries gritted her teeth, but he's right.

Who was she to worry over him when all she did was to push him away?

"Scorpio!" Pisces hissed, sharply pulling at his sleeves in warning. Pisces just gave an apologizing smile at her. "Aries, I'm so sorry about Scorp. He's just pissed off right now. Um, Cancer's address-"

"Don't. Don't tell his address." Scorpio rudely cuts off Pisces, still looking down at Aries, "Until she speaks, we won't reveal anything. So tell us why."

"Isn't it rational enough to worry over someone who is your classmate?" Aries said calmly. She may be reserved outside but inside she's a wreck. She doesn't have time for this. She needs to see Cancer now.

"Really now?" Scorpio hums, "But I can recall you don't even consider him as one. You were just treating him like a scu-"

"Scorpio, I said that's enough!" Pisces sighed, annoyed. "You had your fun-"

"I'm not having fun, Pisces. Anything that has to deal with our group is of serious matter."

"But Aries finally spoke. Let's just tell her his address so that she may visit him."

"Honestly Pi, you're too nice. You need to say no sometimes." Scorpio said, without even looking at her. "So tell me Aries. Why?" At this, Aries' patience had finally run thin.

"Because I'm worried for him alright!" Aries yelled in annoyance. "Look, if you want me to apologize to him, then I'll do it-!"

"No. I want you to sincerely apologize to him, not because I want you to but you have to."

"Fine! Just please give me his address!"

Scorpio was quiet for a while, eliciting a short tug from Pisces once in a while. He was staring at Aries with that silent observation while Aries just held her ground. Scorpio finally shrugs, "Suits fine with me. Pisces, you can tell her now." He then left the two girls to talk as he picked up his bag.

Pisces smiled at Aries but her face became serious, "Aries, I trust you okay? Please take it easy on Cancer. He's been dealing a lot for many years now. The least I wanted for him is to be sad again. Out of all the three of us, Cancer had been the strongest which is really a surprise but it's the truth. Anyway, even the strongest people has their limits too." Pisces stared straight up her eyes since the girl is 1 and a half inches smaller than her. "That is all I want for you, so you have to make sure that you're agreeing with what I just said. Don't test my trust for you."

Oh my god, Aries thought, water signs are sometimes intimidating. I can't wait to tell this to Leo and Sag later. I wonder how they will react to this. Take note not to break their trust, Aries noted before nodding. Pisces' look quickly changes into one of that cheery and gave Cancer's address.

Finally, away from the water duo. Aries shuddered once she stepped outside the classroom, away from their eyes. I swear those two are ready to lunge at me anytime. Aries shook her head and read the paper again that Pisces gave to her before venturing towards Cancer's abode. She was really surprised that his house is only a few blocks from her.

No wonder he's there last night, Aries thought with a frown.

..~*~..

"Cancer! Open this door right now or else I'll be forced to maim you regardless of your condition!"

Yes, Aries knew what Pisces and Scorpio had told her. Take it easy on Cancer they say, Aries huffed, I'm trying but I can't help but explode at this guy! Something about him makes me excited and nervous at the same time that I can't help but act aggressively. Aries sighed and almost pummeled her fist at the plain white door in front of her. "Cancer!"

"Hold on a minute for goodness sake! Give the man here some slack, god.." The door opened to reveal an annoyed yet mangled Cancer. When his electric blue eye caught hers, her breathing hitched, not that he's staring at her wide-eyed but at his condition. But what took her attention is that left eye of his. It's bandaged up.

"A-Aries? Wha..?"

She quickly retained her composure. "What? Couldn't believe that a pretty girl is visiting you?" Aries scoffed, crossing her arms, a good excuse to conceal her excitement and worry for the water sign. "Don't get used to it, I'm visiting you because I heard you got seriously injured, not the other way around." Cancer just continued staring at her as if he could hardly believe that Aries just visited him. The red head could feel herself flush at the intense look Cancer is giving her and she scowled, "What, are you gonna admire me all day or are you going to let me in?"

"Right." He cleared his throat and opened the door wider. Aries entered as if she own the place and observed his home as Cancer closed the door. Not bad, Aries thought as she placed down her bag on the floor.

"You live all by yourself?" Aries asked, which surprised her and him. Cancer nodded and went to the kitchen.

"What do you want Aries? I could do it for you." Aries' heart took a huge leap at this and she squeaked a bit.

"A-anything is fine!" Oh my god, Aries sat down on the creamy sofa, covering her face. Please don't notice that. Please don't.

"Are you alright, Aries?" A hand was laid on her shoulder and she almost jumped at the touch. She looked up at Cancer and scowled, slapping his hand away, only to regret it when he flinched a bit. Damn it Aries, she cussed, you're making this more complicated.

"Um.. I heard you like chamomile tea." He placed down the hot tea on the table across her and took a seat beside her, taking heedful of her privacy as he sat quite a bit far away from her.

"Thanks." Aries mumbled, twiddling with her fingers. Cancer nodded and just remained quiet. Silence took the next role as Aries occasionally takes a few glances at Cancer who had his uncovered eye shut close.

"How are you feeling?" Aries asked, voice soft and gentle. Cancer's eye shot open and he quickly looked at Aries. But Aries was not looking at him and just focused on the tea he made for her. Cancer was still for a while then he said,

"I'm fine. Just feeling sore." Cancer chuckled; Aries' heart skipped a beat once more.

"Just fine?" Aries finally looked at him. Cancer just gave her a look.

"Were you expecting something?" Before she has the chance to reply, Cancer looked away and said, "Right, sorry. I shouldn't have asked that." Aries blinked.

"What? You mean me expecting something?"

Cancer nodded, "In case you have forgotten, I've said the same thing to you two days ago at the hallways right?"

"What do you mea- oh.." Aries suddenly felt guilty about that. Okay Aries. Time to swallow down your pride and apologize. She took a deep breath, "Well, it's not my fault that you're annoying me." No, no! That's not what I'm supposed to say dammit!

Cancer just nodded sadly, "Yeah. I'm sorry about that. It must have been so annoying." Cancer sighed. Something at the way he said that broke her heart.

"I'm sorry alright?" Aries looked away, "For being cold to you and such. And for punching you yesterday. I don't know why I'm doing that but I just really have to do it. I just don't know how to act when I'm.." Aries flushed beet red, "around you."

Fuck, that sounds like a confession. Aries mentally face palmed herself. Fuck it. I'm in love, dammit.

"Um... Okay." Aries glanced at Cancer who was blushing a bit, but that red tint quickly diminished away to Aries' annoyance. "That left me speechless."

"Whatever." Aries said, biting her lips when silence took the next role again. She wanted to speak with him, longer than how she talked with Leo and Sag. She wanted for him to talk to her as well, as if they couldn't get enough with each other.

Like a stupid fool in love. Aries thought.

"Anyway, what happened to your left eye?" Aries found herself saying, scooting near at Cancer who looked at her in surprise. Aries' hand act on impulse as she softly brushed away the fringes that were hiding the bandaged eye. "Does it hurt?" She asked softly, fingers skimming his bruised cheek.

Cancer couldn't speak, mindful of their proximities. To tell that the girl he had been admiring from the sidelines was finally beside him worrying over him is too much to take in. His heart had been somersaulting all the time. Aries would be the death of him someday.

"Cancer?" Aries asked again, hazelnut eyes swirling with concern. Cancer could only manage a big gulp before looking down.

"Those bastards that were following you last night," Aries stiffened, confirming her theory correct. "They accidentally cut my left eye when I was trying to escape after I made sure you're a heedful distance away to make a full dash towards your home." Cancer shrugged nonchalantly, almost as if he didn't care that he got hurt much to Aries' anger.

"Are you an idiot?! That could've killed you!" Aries fussed, holding his cheeks to make him face her, "If you were not in this state, I could've punched you again you imbecile!"

"You're hurting me right now!" Cancer hissed when Aries' grip on his face unconsciously tightened. Aries quickly calmed herself down, still annoyed.

"Just be careful next time. I can't bear to see you like this." Aries mumbled the last part, and both to their surprise, Aries began planting small kisses at his face.

"A-Aries! Wh-what are you doing?!" Cancer blushed madly. Idiot, I should be the one asking that to myself, Aries thought, but I can't stop. It just felt so right. Something within her was telling her to continue her small ministrations of affection. She just can't help it.

Aries boldly sat down on his laps, continuing her affections, especially at the bandaged eye. At this point, Cancer was doing his best to pry her off of him but to no avail.

"Aries, please sit down beside me. You're not acting like yourself..." Cancer had tried to say but was blissfully cut off when Aries planted her lips on his for a chaste kiss. She leaned away, flushing beet red.

"I'm demanding you right now, don't give up on me." Aries said, looking at him straight in the eye. Cancer had this unreadable expression on his face before pushing Aries off of him. Aries couldn't help but feel rejected for a moment when suddenly; Cancer pulled her beside him, cuddling with her.

"I'm sorry. I just want to take it slow." Cancer mumbled on her hair, and Aries shut her eyes close when Cancer gave a loving kiss on her temple. Aries looked up at her now lover who gave a gentle smile at her.

"And don't worry; I'm not planning on giving you up." He pecked at her nose, letting it linger with a smile, "Ever."

..~*~..

"Omg!" Leo squealed like a fangirl from the other line. Aries rolled her eyes as she lied on her bed, a dreamy look on her face. "You two are so cute! If only I knew how cute you two are going to be if you ended being together, I would've supported him from the beginning!"

After talking and cuddling with Cancer, Aries went home and had immediately dialed Leo's number and told her everything, right from the beginning up to the end which resulted into Leo fangirling.

"But you didn't. So sucks to be you Leo." Aries smirked, trying to imagine Leo's reaction but only to remember Cancer's face. Aries could feel herself flushing, face palming herself when she felt her lips tilting up all of a sudden. Damn it. She's so in love, dammit.

"I could tell you're thinking about him~" Leo sang, and Aries tried to scowl but the smile on her face is way too powerful.

"Shut up! I'm so not!" Aries huffed, "Anyway, I have to go. Bye."

"This is the first time you're hanging up on me. Usually, I'm the first one who hangs up." Leo snickered, "Aries is sooooo in love~"

"Good. Bye." Aries ended the call, before hitting her forehead with her phone. She just couldn't stop thinking about Cancer. That idiot. Her idiot. Aries could feel herself smiling which incredibly annoys her.

"Argh!! Stupid, stupid Cancer!"

..~*~..

Me: I imagined Aries as a Tsundere so sorry about that if she seemed OOC. ^^" I just couldn't help but imagine her as Selena of Fire Emblem Fates. I don't think Cancer is the type to rush things (which is true because I don't like rushing things either) so he's more cautious and careful, especially on love (lol. I've never thought about love. Not even once. Not interested. XDD *in my mind* That's what she said.. Anyway!). I hope you still like it! :33

Ophiuchus: *reads the story, nose scrunching up before giving it back to me*

Me: Yeah yeah. I know it's too cheesy and stuff. Trust me, I'm not a romanticist. You have no idea how much I want to bash my head on my younger brother's laptop (he'll have my head off if that happens. He's a Virgo btw). Anyway, this is longer than I thought. I just want it to be short but my imaginations were running wild so this happened. Anyway, I was actually aiming for an angsty plot but pay no heed on that because the story will still have a happy ending. I just really want it to be more angsty, before the happy grand finale. But anyway, I think this is fine.

Ophiuchus: ...

Me: Reply why don't you?! *facepalms*

Ophiuchus: Tsk.

Me: Whatever, at least you improved. *rolls my eyes*

NOTE:
You can request guys!

Just take note I don't do Yaoi or Yuri. It's not that I hate it. Trust me when I said I like reading some Yaoi stories (except Yuri. Anything but that). It's just that, I feel uncomfortable writing them (which is weird because I don't feel uncomfortable at all when I'm reading them) so please don't take it in a wrong way. I'm not homophobic; I'm just a simple girl here who aspires to be a writer someday.

I don't do lemon, NSFW, smuts etc. That's too much. O_O I may not have the purest mind out there (I had my innocence tainted when I was 12 years old after my classmate tricked me into reading this Pandora Hearts fanfiction which was rated K+. K+! What in the manner of right mind does the author want me to read, my god! T_T) but I'd rather bash my head on the wall and die than write one. Lime, on the other hand, I think I can manage. ;) Just as long it won't go any deeper than that.

As for the special requests (eg: songfics, yandere!Taurus, Drabble, love triangle, or just plain random short story that includes all of the characters etc.), I'll think about it. ^^ In short, just talk to me regarding about it and I might reconsider it.

See you at the next chapter! ^^
