✮6~ Why doesn't it add up?✮✅✅
Everyone has a dark side and a light,
it's which side you choose to show that makes who you are.

With a look of fascination clear in my eyes, I stared at the new Pokémon standing before me. "Jemima?" I whispered her name to test the word coming from my own lips. She perked up, giving me a look of interest.
I looked over at Shiver. "Are you sure I didn't know Thomas at all?"
Shiver hesitated, but nodded nonetheless. ~Ce...~
"Then how did I know you?" I frowned, brushing my fingertips lightly over the three scars. "I'm sure I did."
Shiver and the new Pokémon shared an awkward look between one another, but said nothing, making me let out a short breath in disappointment. Something wasn't adding up. How did I help Jemima? How did she end up here with a group of people I wasn't meant to know? It may just be a coincidence, but then again, a lot of things have been lately. It didn't make sense.
Thomas walked it, disrupting my thoughts. "There you are Mima, how'd you get in here?"
She gave a short snort in reply, tossing out her pink spiked mane as she did so.
The raven haired trainer shook his head and looked at me with a smile."You should feel special. Jemima doesn't approach just anyone."
I swallowed hard. "If you don't mind me asking, how did Jemima get here? Is she one of your Pokémon?"
Thomas raised an eyebrow. "No, none of ours. She just turned up one day, a couple months ago," he explained. "She's wild, but she refuses to leave or let anyone catch her. She just sorta comes and goes as she pleases."
"What about those scars?" I asked pointing to the three along her flank. Thomas shrugged.
"Had them when she got here," he answered. "Though it is quite strange that she lives around here."
"Why?"
"Girafarig aren't native to Kalos. They're rare, well, shy Pokémon are rare in general." He frowned slightly at the Pokémon who ignored him completely. "The day she turned up, she acted like she was looking for something and follows at least one of us around. Amy thinks she may have something to do with Alice, but since none of us understand Pokémon, I guess we'll never know."
"I guess that is strange." My own reply was barely noticed by me as I tried to make sense of it all. Things defiantly weren't adding up now.
A black fox, one that shared many similarities in build to Shiver, jumped onto the bed with no announcement. This took me by surprise, but I did well to suppress the feeling. The new Pokémon looked more interested in Shiver then it did me, giving me a sideways glance with his crimson red eyes before focusing on my Glaceon. Its slick black fur shone under the light, giving a smooth looking texture. There were yellow rings on its legs, tail, head, and ears had a slight illumination to them from what seemed to be their own source of light. The body shape was the same as Shiver's. However, unlike Shiver's diamond like ears, this Pokémon had more slightly rounder, cylindrical ones that ended with a point with a tail of the same form.
~Umbreon?~ It cried cheerfully, wagging its tail at Shiver whom simply looked the other way with a bored expression.
"This is my Umbreon, Dusk." Thomas gestured to the fox. "He's been with me for a while now."
~Umbre.~ Dusk nodded his greeting to me.
"Hi," I said shyly, sticking my hand out for him to sniff like I had with Jemima. He didn't even sniff it before he flicked his head away and looked at Shiver suspiciously.
~Umbreon.~
~Glaceon.~ Shiver yawned.
~Um?~
Shiver ignored him, as she started to groom herself. She'd lick her paw before wiping it over her face with a bored expression over her features. Despite all her hints of being uninterested in the Umbreon, Dusk pressed on with his attempts to talk to her, all of which she shrugged off with her cool and calm demeanour.
~Umbre, umbreon.~
~Eon.~ Shiver rolled her eyes.
At this point, I stopped listening to the two exchanging names. I instead turned to my purse that held my two other Pokéballs sitting on the table next to me. It was needless to say that I was nervous about letting my other two out.
Thomas followed my gaze, "You're going to have to let them out sometime."
"I know. It's just..." I trailed. I've encountered two Pokémon from my past so far, and both gave me visions that scared me. "I'm afraid."
Thomas sat by me and put his hand on top of mine. "It will be alright Shimmer." I looked up at his smile and nodded slowly.
"Alright." I hesitantly reached out for my purple purse, opening it as slow as possible and pulled out the first Pokéball. It rolled around in my palm, silently begging to be opened. I squeezed my eyes closed for a moment before I pressed the middle button, first once, then twice.
The red beam shot out, allowing the Pokémon inside to materialise in a flash of electronic blue light. The Pokémon was bird like with a bright, yet soft, blue body. Fluffy, downy white, cloud-like wings stretched out as the Pokémon let out a greeting hum like sound. It had a small, pearly white beak with white circular cheeks of the same, shimmering colour. Two long, proud blue ribbons flowed from the crown of its head. The graceful air the Pokémon brought was obvious with the petite flutter of its its cloudy wings.
~Al-tari?~ It chirped, smiling at with a warm look within its shiny black eyes.
"Nice, an Altaria," Thomas commented. "A female one at that."
Shiver dropped her conversation with Dusk and pranced over to Altaria. ~Glaceon glace glaceon e-eon. Gl-a.~
~Ari?~ Altaria cocked her head to the side, her eyes seeming to darken with sadness.
~Ce.~ Shiver nodded, a look of pain flashing through her eyes as she lowered her head slightly.
Altraia looked up at me and smiled with care. ~Altar.~ She fluttered over to me and rubbed the top of her head against my arm. I hesitated before rubbing her neck, a bright flash of light obscured my vision, warping me too another reality as I can not contact with Tiara's blue feathers.
"Tiara, Dragon Pulse!" I called.
~Al-TARIA!~ My Pokémon cried, sending out a blast of aqua light infused with an indigo pulse at her opponent.
"Liepard, Thunderbolt!" My opponent called.
Their entire body was cloaked in shadows, making it impossible to tell who it was. Clearly, he was the feline's master as she jumped out of the way of my Altaria's attack before sending out a jolt of electricity towards her.
I gasped and withdrew my hand before I could see anymore. I hardly noticed my entire being trembling from what I just saw. It was scary as my mind seemed to cloud over with a thick fog of anxiety.
"Are you alright?" Thomas asked worriedly, resting a hand on my arm.
I shook my head fearfully. Something was definitely off: I felt the fear from that memory. I was afraid of that person, I'm sure of it. But who was it?
"I-- I--- Wha--?" Unable to form words, my mouth simply gaped open and closed.
"What did you see?"
"I-- I was fighting someone. My--my Altaria was fighting a purple feline Pokémon. I was afraid of them. I know it." I trembled, hugging myself tighter to block out the fear quaking through me.
"Something is definitely not right about this about this. I know it," Amy said, pacing around in the room.
"Do you think it could relate to Alice?" Thomas asked. Amy looked from Thomas to me then back to Thomas.
"It is a possibility, but until we know what happened to either Alice or Shimmer, we can't know for sure," Amy declared. "That person may not even be anyone bad. Someone doesn't have to be bad to be feared."
I shook my head. "No, my memory from Shiver people tried to grab me. I was scared and so was she."
"So do you know if Altaria has a name?" Thomas asked, trying to change the uncomfortable subject. "Your Glaceon has a name. Naturally, your Altaria should to."
I nodded. "Tiara, I called her Tiara."
Amy seemed to gawk at me in wide eyed amazement before examining my Altaria with a curious gaze, "No freakin' way."
"What?" I asked confused. Thomas bit his bottom lip.
"Alice also had an Altaria she called Tiara." He looked over at Amy. "Do you think this may be more than a coincidence? Think about it, Shimmer keeps of seeing people trying to hurt her. What if those people, I dunno, abducted her? What if the same people are the ones who took Alice?"
Amy shook her head. "We can't be sure Tommy. There is more than one group of bad guys out there."
"Please don't call me Tommy." Thomas sighed sounding irritated.
Amy smiled and winked at me. "He hates people calling him Tommy."
I forced a smile. "I think I noticed." While I smiled on the outside, thousands of questions buzzed through my head, the main recurring question was simply what didn't add up?
