✮31~ Do you trust me?✮ ✅

The ones who laugh the loudest
also cry the hardest.
✮.✯*✮.✯*🌟*✯.✮*✯.✮

Another week had passed since I was first rescued, two weeks in total I think but I can't be completely sure since I'd spent nearly the whole time in the basement recovering from the whole ordeal. I'd over heard the others saying we were ready to leave Alyssa house today, I think they underestimate how much I hear them talking about or maybe they simply trust me enough not to care what I can hear. Dream helping me get my strength back seemed to prove something them, that I was really who she claimed me to be and I was allowed to be trusted with their secrets but despite my new-found strength, Alyssa had suggested we should stay at her house another week, just to be on the safe side as I was still a little sore afterwards.

Oh, and I'd also caught Jemima a few days ago. Thomas had given me the Pokéball to do so since he said that she would follow me anywhere I went, the Girafarig only further proved that by agreeing to be caught without hesitation. I found it funny how some Pokémon had complete personalities and unique quirks while others acted as if they had no more brains then a doornail (no offence to them of course!). I'd been watching some Pokémon documentaries with Thomas and Amy over the past week to help me recognise a Pokémon or its Type by sight - or something like that, honestly, I just watched starry eyed they whole time at the cuteness of the Pokémon depicted. While watching I'd noticed that some Pokémon, like Magikarp, didn't seem to be very smart but I'd noticed through watching the behaviour of my Pokémon as well as my friends that seemed that each Eeveelution had its own very unique personality and quirks.

Shiver was calm, cool and collected at almost all moments. She would often watch things from a distance and almost always was in the same room as me at any given time. I'd learnt from Amy that Shiver afraid of heights and that it was probably her only fear as far as anyone knew. She also likes to 'tease' Dusk. About what, nobody knows. She was protective and the elected leader of my Team which most trainers had, usually the strongest member of the member who was apart of their Team the longest, Shiver was the first of these.

I'd learnt that Tiara was a specially bred Altaira, with higher stats or something – Thomas said that it's a more complex part of battle that I needn't worry about since I just battle for fun. However, her Attack Stat was lower than her breeder would have liked and gave it away to Alice as a little baby Swablu. Tiara has much more of an elegant and refined personality but still enjoys having fun and playing around as she was still young as far as Altaria go. She was the most recent member of Alice's team but still exceptionally strong. The Flying-Type was best friends with Wish and much preferred doing rather than thinking which got them both into all sorts of mischief.

Wish was extremely playful. She took next to nothing seriously and one if the few things she did take seriously were battles. Being Alice's first Pokémon, that I apparently was with her when she caught, Wish had known her then most and recently she had been more down then her normal attitude but with help from Tiara the little Vivillion was as perky as ever now. All my Pokémon had taken a blow with the confirmed loss of their trainer but they seemed to work together to pull themselves out of it with little assistance from me since I didn't know what to do about the whole thing, I couldn't even remember her from my own memories.

Jemima was more of a mystery. She seemed to have multiple personalities at once. One moment she would be watching other play calmly before suddenly letting out a happy cry and joining before walking away silently a while after. She went from group of Pokémon to group, sometimes sitting with Shiver watching other with a keen eyes and other times training with the tougher Pokémon but I guess that's just what makes her unique, I liked it.

In just a few weeks I'd learnt so much!

At the current moment, I was lying in bed, writing in the journal Amy had given me to help me keep track of what I was learning about myself and the world around me. The others I'm pretty sure were sleep at this time and all my Pokémon apart from Shiver, as usual, were to. Dream's soft snoring came from where she lay curled on my pillow while the three members of my sleeping team lay on the floor close to my bed. Since Dream had been staying with me at night, I didn't have nightmares about when Tyson kidnapped me as much, but then she was the Guardian of Dreams so that probably has something to do with it... or everything to do with it. It's hard to tell when you don't have a memory... and the little you do have isn't even yours.

I still felt weird getting my sisters memories and not seeing my own and honestly, I feel a little guilty about it. I'm dreading the moment I come across one of her secrets, the kind that she wouldn't have told anyone before. Some things are meant to be kept secret and by getting her memories, I feel like I'm invading Alice's privacy somehow. It's strange to have gotten amnesia and when I get my memories back, they're not mine.

Sitting up straight, I stared at my journal and sighed. I wanted to go outside, this room was to stifling for me but I was scared to go anywhere alone. I didn't know exactly what time it was but I'm guessing early morning which means something bad could happen while I was out alone with the others asleep.

~Glaceon?~ Shiver asked, moving to my side. The Ice-Type, studying me curiously.

I shook my head. "I'm fine Shiver. I'm just worried and excited about leaving today I guess. I've been waiting for what feels like ages to be outside again." Showing her a smile for reassurance.

She nodded in reply. ~Ce.~

As I ran my fingers through my long white hair, I looked over to Shiver before picked her up, sitting her on my lap do I could gently stroke her. "I'm glad you decided to stay with me. It feels... I don't know... right I guess for you to be with me. I don't know if it's because of Alice's memories or if it's something else but it is still great to have you around."

Shiver smiled at me and licked my cheek. ~Glace ce eon.~ She purred, rubbing her head against my chest.

I scratched her behind the ears, the place if found was her favourite, smiling as well. It was good to have something that felt right in a world that I couldn't remember. Something good to go off while I made my own memories in this strange, wonderful and scary world... Smiling to myself, I lay back, staring at the cracks in the ceiling absently until I slipped into sleep.

~Sneasel sneasel sneasel!~ Called me from the darkness.

I opened my eyes and saw Niro, Alyssa's Sneasel, jumping up and down on the bed next to me, the Ice/Dark Type smiling cheekily as Shiny snapped at her, hissing somewhat playfully as Niro pounced away.

"Niro, I said you could wake her up gently." Niro smirked and shrugged, jumping up on Alyssa's shoulder. "I knew I should have named you Devil. Sorry about that Shimmer." My friend apologised Mareepishly.

I sat up and stretched, feeling a crack in my pack somewhere as the stiff bone got ready for the day. Guess I did fall asleep after all. "It's fine."

"Annnyway, we're leaving today and we're gonna do something fun. So get ready." Alyssa smiled eagerly. "Oh, and Amy got you this." She held up a purple swimsuit. "You're gonna need it for later~." She hummed and sat it on my bed before skipping for the room. Good to see people in a good mood.

~Glace?~ Shiver said giving a what-the-heck-just-happened kind of look.

I shrugged. "I think she's happy." Giggling afterwards as Tiara flapped onto my bed, snuggling up to me in a cheerful manner.

Shiver then turned to me giving a "ya-think?" look. I found it cute and funny how Pokémon communicate with looks and expressions with their trainers.

Giggling as I smiled, I stroked Tiara along her long, slender neck. "So where do you think the others are going to take us?"

Shiver shrugged and jumped off the bed. She poked Jemima with her paw in effort to wake her up... which it didn't. Shiver sighed and sent out a wave of frost signalling she was dropping the air temperature like she usually does when she's angry, upset or frustrated. She sent out a baby blue beam of ice from her mouth, much weaker than her normal Ice Beam attacks but enough to wake both Jemima and Wish.

Wish let out a surprised squeal and jumped up, taking flight only to hit her head on the roof. ~Vivi.~ She growled and tossed her antennae where as Jemima simply shook the frost from her fur and stood up.

Shiver shrugged and turned to me with a smirk, the frost evaporating from the air. All my Pokémon looked at me expectantly as if saying, "well hurry up already" Apart from Wish that is, who was glaring poison daggers at Shiver whilst trying to shake ice from her velveteen wings.

I laughed aloud, which felt good. It felt good to be happy again rather than being afraid of Tyson all the time. I guess after hearing the others tell me over and over that I was safe, I was believing it.

After changing, my swimsuit hidden beneath a flowy white shirt and short-short jean shorts, I peeped outside of my bedroom. Amy normally brought out my breakfast at this time, where could she be? Thomas exited his room at this time, wearing a black shirt with some sort of white dragon looking pokemon and grey swim-shorts.

My friend smiled happily. "Morning Shimmer, we're all going upstairs for breakfast today." He explained, gesturing for me to follow him.

"Oh, nobody told me that." I replied shyly as I followed him down the hall. Thomas just laughed.

"Everyone's just excited to leave." He smiled, Dusk following at his heals, trying get Shiver's attention but she was on duty watching over me as I walked upstairs. "We don't normally stay in one place for so long, don't take it personally." Thomas gave me a reassuring smile as we entered the kitchen, a wave of delectable scents filling my nose as we did, my mouth began to water before I even realised how hungry I was.

Amy already had everyone's breakfast served, the greenette dancing the beat of music, bobbing to each beat as she fretted and fussed around with the different pans of food she had cooking. From the smells wafting through the air, I was able to detect eggs, bacon and pancakes and well as a multitude of different fruits and berries.

"and the youngest come in last!" Amy announced as Alyssa and Nick turned to greet us. Alyssa's parents seemed too wrapped up in their own conversation to notice that Thomas and I had entered the room at all. "Good th see you two finally made it up."

Thomas took a seat next to Nick while I sat next to him. "Nobody told Shimmer to come." He explained as Amy set a plate heaped with food before each of us.

The Grass Trainer's mossy eyes widened slightly as she turned towards me. "Sorry Shimmer, I thought Alyssa would have when she woke you up." She turned to Alyssa and frowned.

Alyssa simply shrugged, eating a forkful of scrambled eggs as she did. "Oops." She muttered with her mouthful.

Amy rolled her eyes before looking at me apologetically. "Eat up! We're gonna be out n the open road after today which means we won't be having food nearly this good for a while."

Taking my friends advice, I dug into my breakfast, thankfully it tasted better then it smelled.

"Cannon ball!" Nick shouted as he jumped into the lake, sending up a plume of water with a loud splash as he hit the water.

I let out a giggle and dipped my feet in the water at the edge. After sneaking out of Alyssa's house we all used our own Pokémon to fly to the other side of the region - apart from Amy who flew with Alyssa as usual. Thanks to a mixture of Nick's Tallonflame, Sunburn as he called it, and Alyssa's ice types we had managed to create a cloud of mist to hide in as we travelled to draw less attention to Alyssa's legendary bird.

We had stopped up north-east Kalos I'd been told which is far away from where we were although I couldn't be too sure since I fell asleep on Tiara's back for most the trip, Amy had scolded me for doing so because I could have fallen off, but she did also explain that none of them had the heart to wake me while I was sleeping so soundly.

Amy and Alyssa were now splashing around the lake while Nick chased after them, trying to dunk them under the water. Thomas had been trying to do the same thing, I thought to myself with a giggle as I remembered him practically jumping a top Amy. Wait... where is Thomas? I wondered as I surveyed the lake from my perch on the shore, dipping my feet to the ankles into the water.

"Kalabunga!" Thomas shouted whilst swinging on a vine over the lake. He let go and canon balled into the middle of the crystal-clear water, sending up a massive plume of water. Amy, Alyssa and Nick were completely drenched by the water and angrily chased after Thomas... Who was laughing his head off.

I burst out laughing when they caught him, watching in amusement as Nick forced him under the water until he begged for mercy. Thomas stopped laughing at this point as seemed to be pouting playfully.

Thomas then looked at me and swam over. "Are you coming in?" He asked, pulling me in by my ankle before I could answer.

I squealed and threw my hands around his neck. "I-I don't know if I can swim." I whimpered, holding onto him tightly, burying my head into his shoulder as I did. "Please don't let me go."

"Well you won't find out sitting up there will you?" Thomas smirked as he stroked my white hair. "I gottcha."

"Tommy, are you trying to kill the poor girl? You should ask a lady to swim, not try to drown her." Nick smirked, winking at me but I just whimpered in reply.

Alyssa swam up to us, smirking as she did. "You tried to drown Tommy didn't you?"

Everyone else, aside from me and Thomas burst out laughing. I was still clinging to my friend desperately. I seriously didn't know if I could swim or not but I didn't want to risk letting go of my friend and finding out the hard way that I couldn't.

"Guuuys." Thomas whined. "Stop calling me Tommy."

"Um, could someone take me to the shore please." I squeaked, trying to reach out and grab the rock I'd been perched upon. "I really don't like this!"

Thomas smiled and grabbed my hands, holding them tightly but gently at the same time as he pulled me away from him, allowing me to balance by my wrist above the water.

I squealed and tried to grab onto him as I felt myself tear up in fright – something my friends didn't notice due to the water - but Thomas smiled and held onto me. "It's okay, I've got you. Promise."

Again, I squeaked as I struggled to keep myself afloat with wild kicking actions beneath the water, I failed to realise that with Amy, Alyssa and Nick so close by it was near impossible for me to drop should I lose my grip on Thomas as slip beneath the surface. I looked him in the eye as I slipped a little lower, squeaking again as I did. After another minute I managed to find my balance as well as a more comfortable kicking rhythm. "Please don't drop me." I pleaded as I held on tightly to his hands.

Thomas smiled softly. "Have I let you down yet?" He prompted, pulling me a little further from the sore.

I shook my head. "No... not really." My response was shaky as I struggled to figure how to respond to the movement.

"Then trust me." He smiled, again dragging me further from the safety of land, Amy was swimming right behind me, watching me closely as she spoke with Alyssa about something I couldn't focus of while trying to keep myself above the water.

I nodded. "I-I guess..." As I said this, Thomas let me go. I squealed in shock and attempted to catch myself. Just before my head sunk beneath the water, Thomas grabbed hold of me, smiling playfully.

"You need to paddle with your arms." He explained as I threw my arms around his neck.

I shook my head frantically. "No, please don't do that again!" I begged. "It's scary!"

Thomas sighed softly but comtinued to smile. "How will you ever learn to swim then?"

Again I shook my head. "I don't want to!"

"But didn't you say you didn't want to be scared anymore?" My friend pressed, again taking me beneath the arms in order to force me to swim more independently.

Whimpering softly, I looked for help from the others. "Not like this! I wanted today to be happy but you're really scaring me Thomas, just please take me back."

Thomas shook his head. "You need to know how to swim Shimmer, how about if I just promise not to drop you without telling you first?" He smiled, slight amounts of pity showing in his crimson eyes.

"Okay..." I replied softly, clinging onto him as he and the others began to coach me to swim on my own.
