Thomas gently ran his fingers through my hair until I stopped shaking, he gently reassured me the men were gone and that I was safe. I was terrified of those people and didn't even know entirely why, the feeling it cause in my chest wasn't a pleasant one.
"Are you okay now?" Thomas asked gently, pulling away slightly so he could see me. I could see the deep sense of concern hidden within his ruby optics.
I nodded slowly as Shiver jumped up on my shoulder, looking at me worriedly. My Glaceon licked my cheek softly the proceeded to nuzzle into me.
"Th-thank you..." I hiccupped quietly, looking at my hands while an awkward blush creeped onto my cheeks.
"It's fine." Thomas smiled. "Let's get you inside."
Again, I nodded as I followed Thomas inside, pulling Shiver off my shoulder so I could hug her instead. Alyssa and Amy followed directly behind me with Gleam and Moss on their shoulders. Tyson was behind them while Nick stayed outside. This caught my attention as I curiously wondered why would he stay out and what was he doing.
Thomas led me to the room I was hiding in before while the others were arguing and proceeded to follow me in. I sat on the edge of the bed I was on previously, my head hung low as I hugged Shiver closer.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Thomas asked kneeling down next to me.
I nodded. "I'm fine. Thank you." My voice came out like a squeak or a tiny mouse Pokémon and I wiped my eyes.
The raven-haired trainer frowned but nodded. "Alyssa and Amy are going to stay in this room with you tonight, since there's only two rooms here, is that alright?"
As usual, I only nodded, feeling safer knowing that other people would be here with me to keep me safe. "Thank you."
With a reassuring smile, Thomas nodded and left the room, Tyson hesitated slightly before following, shutting the door behind him. Alyssa jumped onto the top bunk of the bed opposite to mine while Amy took the bottom bunk of the bed.
"They were the people from your memory, weren't they?" Amy inquired, looking at me from where she sat, combing Moss's creamy-yellow fur.
I nodded, reaching into my purse and pulling out Tiara and Wish's Pokéballs. Letting both out, I hugged them close, using them to hide my fearful tears.
Shiver jumped from my arms and curled up at the end of my bed, her soothing black eyes reassuring me to the same. Tiara lightly pecked my cheek before Wish nuzzled my hair. They both then flew up to the above bunk and curled up together.
I sighed softly to myself as I slipped off my flats and undid my belt, sitting in the table next to me. Alyssa was going through something on her phone while Amy was going through an array of brightly coloured flowers that she'd collected from the Pixie Temple.
"Do you think they'll come back?" I asked quietly, looking out the window.
Amy followed my gaze and shook her head. "We scared them off. We'll probably move location again tomorrow, nothing to worry about."
Shifting slightly in discomfort, I didn't feel so reassured. "I don't know..."
Alyssa sighed, sounding somewhat irritated as she sat up. "Look at Shiver. She's sleeping, if there was anything to worry about she'd be up and alert, it's just how she is. If she is able to sleep, then you should too."
I glanced down at Shiver who had her eyes closed and was breathing evenly, letting out an icy fog every time she released a breath in soft snores.
"If she can sleep, that means it's safe." Alyssa nodded in confirmation.
I looked up at Alyssa then back down at Shiver. "Okay... I guess that makes sense..."
Amy gestured to Moss who was now sitting on her pillow. "I'll also will leave Moss out and Alyssa can leave out Gleam. There will be no way anyone could sneak in and not wake one of the three."
"Leafe." Moss nodded, stretching out with a purr.
Gleam gave a closed eye smile. "Espie!"
Feeling much more reassured, I gave a small nod and smiled a little more, satisfaction and safety settling in my chest. "Okay..."
Amy smiled back, standing up and turned the lightswtich off, leaving the only source of light came from the stars and moon as their moonbeams shone through the curtain.
With a small sigh, I laid down and pulled the covers up to my chin, rolling over so I was facing the wall. Something still didn't feel right, a sickened feeling in my chest caused me to feel most unsettled. I slowly sat up and gently picked up Shiver, pulling her into my arms as I laid back down with the covers over us.
She looked up at me tiredly as I had no doubt woken her but didn't make any attempt to protest the movement, Shiver just wriggled into a comfortable position before closing her eyes and once again falling asleep. I followed soon after.
~💫~
The sweat sound of Flying-Type Pokémon singing their morning songs filtered through the window, rousing me up from my dreamless sleep the night had brought me. Shiver was still fast asleep in my arms and had made a small patch on frost where she had been breathing out. From the snoring above me, my other two Pokémon were also asleep.
I gently unwrapped my arms from around Shiver, leaving her sleeping under the blanket and sat up.
Amy and Alyssa's beds were made and neither was in the room. The faint smell of food drifted under the door making my tummy growl. It was then that I realised that after everything last night, I didn't have anything for dinner and from what Thomas and Amy had told me, I was already underweight from not eating enough.
Standing silently, careful not to wake up my sleeping Pokémon, I snuck to the door which had been left slightly agape. The door opened up without a sound as I pulled on the handle and walked out, succeeding in not waking Tiara, Wish or Shiver. I left the door open a crack so they could come out if they wanted when they woke up before heading for the sitting room that the others were fighting in yesterday.
The door was open and Thomas, Tyson and Alyssa were sitting there eating was looked like flat, circular cakes - pancakes. Amy, I was guessing, was in the kitchen cooking but Nick was missing. Strange he was always around when food was, or so I'd been told.
"Morning Shimmer, sleep well?" Alyssa asked upon seeing me in the doorway.
I nodded with a small smiled. "Yes, I did thank you."
Alyssa smiled back. "That's great."
Tyson just glanced at me as nodded before going back to his meal without a word of acknowledgement.
"Good morning." Thomas greeted happily.
Returning his greeting with a nod, I smiled. "Good morning."
"Just in time for breakfast." Amy smiled, walking in the room with a plate of the cakes. "Do you like pancakes?"
"Only one way to find out isn't there?" I smiled back, sitting between Thomas and Alyssa as Nick entered the room.
Tyson raised an eyebrow at Nick's presence. "Where have you been all morning?"
Sunburn jumped up onto his shoulder. ~Flareon.~
"Nowhere, just out." Nick said awkwardly, scratching his Flareon behind the ears. "So what are we doing about her?" He changed the subject and nodding towards me.
Thomas glared at his friend. "Her has a name."
"Actually, no she doesn't." Nick glared back.
Alyssa was quick to jump in and defuse the situation. "Stop fighting right now or I will get Amy to use the air horn again." She hissed, glancing at me.
I shifted in my seat, my head hung low in an embarrassed shame as I poked at my food with my fork, not feeling as hungry as I had earlier. The three continued to argue, Amy even came in and joined as the girls and Thomas defended me while Nick and Tyson wanted to get rid of me.
"She's not even one of us, and therefore not our problem." Tyson glared sharply at me. "She could be a spy, she's putting us at risk."
Thomas shook his head sharply. "She couldn't be, and what about her Pokémon!? That is Alice's Glaceon without a doubt and Wish and Tiara are the same as well."
With a shrug, Nick sneered. "Simple then, we keep Alice's Pokémon and get rid of her. What of another one of us goes missing? For what? A girl who's not even one of us."
I flinched slightly at that, unable to keep myself contained any longer. I didn't want to be kicked out without Shiver, Wish and Tiara. So, taking a deep breath in to keep myself calm for the moment, I gently placed my plate on the table and stood up, fleeing the room as my tears fell freely. Rushing to the bedroom where my Pokémon were, I closed the door behind me with a thud and leaded against it with tears streaming down my face.
Shiver was instantly up, standing alert and inspecting the room for signs of danger. When she saw it was only me she ran over to me with a deepened, concerned frown. "Glace?"
Sliding down the door until my bottom hit the ground, I hugged my knees, sobbing into them. "They want to take you away." I whispered to the Ice-Type.
My Glaceon hissed and shook her head firmly. Tiara and Wish, whom at this point had both woken up also, flew over to me and curled up by my side.
"We... we have to leave." I mumbled, looking up at them. "I don't want to be on my own. Not with those... people after me. I need you guys."
Shiver hesitated before nodding. "Glaceon."
"Let's go now, while they're fighting." I whispered, wiping my eyes.
Again, Shiver nodded.
I went to were my shoes laid from last night and slipped them on, reattaching my belt around my waist as well. I clipped my purse to my belt after returning Wish and Tiara. Again, wiping my eyes before I tied the widow but it had been locked with a key, a key I didn't have.
In all honesty, I felt bad about leaving after these people taken care of me but when I got my memories back I'd come back and tell them so they knew the problem was solved. I didn't want to be alone and I didn't want them to take my Pokémon from me, I cared about them in a way I couldn't even describe. I just knew I had to keep them with me.
Knowing that I'd have to go through the front door to get out though was quite nerve racking... And walk right past the groups fighting. Sighing slightly before slowly pulling the door open, I found Thomas standing there in mid-knock. "Hey... Are you alright?" He asked quietly while quickly bringing his hand down. "You left the room in such a hurry and you looked like you were crying."
I wiped my eyes again and nodded. "I'm just going outside for some air."
Thomas nodded and offered a smile. "I'll come to."
I flinched but nodded. "Okay." I mumbled quietly, looking down at the floor as Shiver jumped on my shoulder.
My raven-haired friend led the way from the room to the outside.
"What's going to happen?" I asked quietly, hearing the arguing and looking up at Shiver worriedly.
"Amy and Alyssa won't let anything happen to you. If you are Alice then they won't let go of their last Pixie Born and either way you have some connection to her." Thomas explained.
"Maybe it is best if I just leave." I said quietly, looking at my hands. "Tyson and Nick want to take my Pokémon from me."
Thomas shook his head. "Those people were trying to get you. They wanted to hurt you Shimmer. I don't know what they wanted with you but I'm not about to let them hurt you. Don't listen to what Nick or Tyson say."
"But why are you doing this!?" I raised my voice slightly, flustered and scared. "You don't even know me!"
"But that's the thing, I might." He replied, keeping calm. "Your resemblance to Alice can't just be a coincidence. You're like her in every way possible. You might be her."
I shook my head sadly. "But what if I'm not!? What if I'm just giving you false hope!? I'm not like you guys, I don't even have a mark."
With a sigh, Thomas ran his fingers through his hair. "Shimmer..."
Again, I shook my head. "I'm just making problems between you guys, and Nick and Tyson want to take Shiver, Wish and Tiara away, I'm thankful of you guys for taking care of me but I need to go, while I still have them with me... Please understand." With that I turned and ran off, not wanting to get into or be in the middle if any more fights.
"Shimmer!" Thomas yelled chasing after me but I just kept on running through the forest, tears flowing freely.
I ran for a long time, I'm not sure how long but I'd returned Shiver to her Pokéball so we didn't get separated and left Thomas far behind me. It would seem I'm a fast runner although my lungs felt they were of fire.
A sudden, agonising pain from my side as I was blow into a tree from an unknown force. I screamed in pain and instinctively reached for my purse and threw Shiver back out as I lay curled up on the ground in pain.
She was immediately battle ready, crouched down, cooling down the air around her and freezing her fur into spikes. "Glaceon!" Shiver snarled.
The forest was quiet apart from the distant sound of Thomas calling my name. I wanted to call back to him but my voice seemed to have vanished as I sobbed in pain. I whimpered and pressed my back against the tree I'd crashed against before.
"Is anyone there?" I called out with my voice wavering while slowly standing up to my feet. I couldn't stand straight without hurting my side though.
There were more voices calling in the distance now but I still couldn't call out for them, my voice wouldn't let me.
"Well well well. Look who we found, the boss'll be happy." The voice was one of men who attacked me yesterday, he theory further confirmed as the man walked out from behind a tree, his Liepard by his side.
Shiver took a step forward and hissed at the taller Pokémon, it did the same as the two glared at each other. The voices were getting closer and I could make out the individual voices of Thomas, Nick, Tyson, Amy and Alyssa.
I glanced in the direction they were coming for and finally found my voice enough the shout for them. "Please help me!"
The man glared at me as I called for help. "Let's make this quick, Liepard use Crunch."
"Ice Fang!" I called, remembering that Shiver had used the move yesterday.
Shiver dodged the razor like fangs of Liepard and bit it in retaliation of her attack with her faintly glowing blue teeth. Liepard yowled out and hissed at my Glaceon.
"Use Thunder Wave!" The man ordered, his inhuman voice showing anger.
Liepard sent out a wave of electricity which hit Shiver. She fell to the ground and struggled to push herself up from the effects of the attack. Within seconds Liepard was in front of me, pushing me back down so she towered above me. She stared right into my eyes making my whimper in fear and push myself further against the tree. The others voices were getting closer, but not close enough. I screamed pitifully.
"Liepard, Shadow Ball." The man ordered with a snicker.
His Pokémon did as she was ordered and the attack hit me, knocking me out cold as the darkness over took my mind.
