✮1~ Who am I?✮ ✅✅

What if you had a second chance at everything?
Your life, your job, your schooling, your pet, your friends or even your who you were.
Would you take it?
What would you leave behind to get it?
Would you be willing to give up everything, everything, you know just to forget?
Think of the good things in your life, think of the bad. Everything in this world... your world... all worlds... began with the first step. Everything anyone has ever strived for and achieved, or even failed, began with a first single small step, a single leap of faith.

And here's mine...

Swish... swish... swish

The sound of water gently lapping against the sandy shore echoed calmly through the night. The wind calmly swirled threw nearby trees that barely swayed in the gentle breeze as the pearly full moon peered down onto the calm bay on which I woke upon. The night was calm, illuminated by heavenly lights from above.

Thump... thump... thump...

I slowly sat up, raising my left hand to my beating forehead to try and sooth the unsettling ache that pounded against my skull. Something wasn't right. I could feel it but couldn't quite name it; like it was there, yet not there at all. It felt like I should be somewhere else at this moment, but didn't know where.

I looked around. Where was I? The bay was deserted; the only sign of life was myself and the palm trees growing along the shore. I looked to the left and to the right only to find nothing of interest or importance, but then I turned my gaze upwards. My eyes widened at the sight before me. What seemed to be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen sat right above my head, twinkling as if winking gleefully at me for taking notice of them.

The nighttime sky was full with bright shimmering stars, like someone had just grabbed a handful of fine silver glitter and just tossed it in the air to be stuck to a glorious sheet of soft blue velvet. Just staring at the very sight of them took my breath away. The stars stood out beautifully against the blue night sky swirled with purple streaks. I shifted into a kneeling position to get a better and more comfortable look at the enchanting night sky.

Each and every silvery orb looked so small that it would go unnoticed on its own even with its unique twinkle. It was a different story when they're together in their thousands, appearing absolutely stunning. Seeing them like this, each holding such a beauty to it, made it look so amazing just to look up.  No one would even bother to look most of the time with them all tucked up in a place, but it looked so spectacular.

One star, brighter than the others, shot across the sky at the pace of a speeding bullet. It was there one moment and gone in the next. A bright pink trail followed but disappeared the moment I blinked. I smiled a little. This felt right. The stars and the nighttime sky. Something about them just felt right when everything else just felt wrong and different; out of place almost. To me, each one felt like it belonged where it was like it had been placed there for me.

Then it hit me. Who was I? Everything before waking up on this beach was a blur; a hazy, empty darkness, a pit of nothingness. It felt as if someone had taken all my memories and left nothing but knowledge of the world behind; locking everything else away in a sealed box to never be opened.

Who am I? How did I get here? What was I doing here?

I searched every corner of my mind as I tried to find some sort of clue to who I was: a name, a face, or even a birthday. Not one of my questions could be answered by what knowledge I had and no matter how hard I searched, I couldn't find any trace of my memories. It was all just empty. I couldn't find my age, where I live, anyone I know. Not even my name.

I ran my fingers through my long white hair. It fell limply down to my waist, leaving it out in a free flowing waterfall of pure snowy white. I looked down at my reflection in the icy cold salt water, seeing a pale face framed by white hair staring back at me with vivid light blue eyes and soft pink lips pulled down into a small frown. My cheeks had a slight pink tinge to them. I also had a medium, egg shaped lump on my forehead shaded with blues and purples. Hmm, that didn't look right....

Cautiously, I ran my fingers over the bump but quickly recoiled when pain shot through my head. No, that's definitely not right.

I don't know who I am nor where I am and I'm alone and hurt. What was going on?

I stood up slowly, shaking slightly on my feet as if I hadn't stood up straight in a while. Once I'd regained what I hoped was proper balance I looked down at my tattered white dress. It seemed to have once been completely ordinary and plain, but was now a tattered mess of fabric. The only item I wore that looked to be new, but damaged, was a thin silver belt made from plaited twine with a small purple, silver pouch on the side. Unlike my dress, it was untouched as if only recently added to the outfit.

With curiosity blooming within me, I pulled the velvet pouch from my belt and examined the outside. It was made from a deep lavender velvet with a tread of silver lining here and there, making it look like it had stardust sewn in the threading. It had a single round shiny pink button with a silver star imprint on the corner was the only decoration the purse had, or needed in my own opinion.

I gently opened it, taking care not to damage it just in case the purse was more delicate than it seemed. Inside were three round spheres. The top half was red and the bottom was white with a black stripe separating the two halves. A white button sitting in the centre of the black stripe, seemingly begging to be pressed.

Pokéballs, that's what I think they are called; it sounds right but I couldn't remember.

I slowly pulled one out and examined it before pressing the middle button which enlarged it to the size of a baseball. Hmm... I had a feeling something else was meant to happen. Pressing the button again, I jumped when it opened up with a sound of slight... Warping I guess? It seemed like the right word to use, but at the same time, I had a feeling there was a better one I could use. A bright red light shot out. An electrified whooshing sound followed and a small ice blue fox Pokémon materialised.

Her light blue fur covered most of her body apart from the two diamond like patched on her back. The tip of her diamond tipped tail shared the same colour as well as the similar shaped bangs that fell from her head just under her matching diamond shaped ears. The bottom of her feet had a curved like shape. All these areas were a darker shade of blue as well as her fringe like crystals on her forehead. Her flat tail waved in the air elegantly as the Pokémon stood with grace and precision.

It raised its head, opening its obsidian coloured eyes to meet my blue ones. ~Glace!~ It yipped looking around quickly before her eyes widened in fear.

I'm not completely sure how I knew it, but I believed it was female. It just seemed right. Maybe it was its elegant movements or the tiara of icy crystals on its head. It just felt right to call it a her. I wasn't sure how I knew it was a Pokémon anyway; I seemed to know what they were, just not any of the specific species.

Her gaze rose and settled on me. She seemed confused like something was meant to be happening, but wasn't.

~Glaceon?~ She said walking up to me with her head cocked to one side. She suddenly smiled and tackled me to the ground, licking my nose affectionately.

Flash

A blurry forest was now surrounding me. The details weren't very clear, but I could make out the things directly surrounding me. Anything anything beyond that was completely undefinable.

"Shiver please help me!" I screamed. I had blood trailing down a cut across my arm and staining my lavender coloured shirt with its deep crimson colour.

The fox looked up at me as two people dressed in black grabbed my arms, yanking me back forcefully. The poor thing looked exhausted but she ran to my side nonetheless. A determined spark flared in her eyes as she bit into one of the men holding me with icy blue tinted fangs before she shot a baby blue beam of ice at the other, forcing them both to release me.

When I was free I grabbed hold of her and bolted into the forest as fast as my legs could carry me.

Flash

I was back on the beach with the fox looking at me worried. The same fox from my vision... no, that wasn't right. I'm sure it was a memory. Her black eyes were filled with concern. Her tail was no longer waving as high as she examined my features.

I carefully sat back up, wincing slightly as my body didn't seem to agree with the movement. The fox moved to my lap as I looked down at her.

"Is your name Shiver?" I asked.  She nodded.

"And you're a... Glaceon?" I questioned further. She nodded again.

"And you're... my Pokémon?"

A nod once again. ~Ceon?~

"So, you're a friend?"

She gave me a really confused look as she tilted her head to the side.

"I think... I think I may have lost my memory Shiver..."

~Glaceon!?~ Her eyes widened and she looked back out to sea, her eyebrows furrowing in thought.

After a long minute she turned back to me. ~Glace glaceon.~ She said flicking her diamond shaped tail at the forest.

"So you'll stay with me?"

Shiver let out a sort of chuckle and nodded, placing her paw on my hand while smiling. ~Gla-ce-on.~

I smiled back at her as my fingers gently stroked her fur affectionately. It was cool to the touch, yet somehow still warm. She purred lightly in pleasure, shutting her eyes as she stretched out her neck for more until I stopped.

Shiver looked up at me, cocking her head to the side. ~Glace?~

I offered a small smile in order to reassure Shiver. It felt like the right thing to do, but I wasn't completely sure. Shiver let out another small pur, rubbing herself against my stomach in an affectionate sort of way. I hugged her close in response as I rose back onto my own feet.

My feet sunk slightly in the sand, filling my shoes with the grainy stuff. I wrinkled my nose at the unpleasant feeling. I couldn't have been happier when my feet finally came in contact with solid ground for a change. There was a worn out path that lead into the forest, twisting into the undergrowth and beyond my sight. I looked down first to Shiver, curled up in my arms, for reassurance before I took my first few steps beyond the beach from which my memories began.
