Episode 1: The Journal

A boy was looking around the junk in the Mystery Ship when he came across a piece of paper. He held it up and read it.

"Do you like me?" He read aloud.

At the bottom, it was written,

"Yes," with an empty box.

Followed two lines below with "Positive," and "Absolutely."

At that, the boy was looking around.

Behind the shelves, where a person can view that confused boy, a girl was squealing saying, "I rigged it perfectly."

Behind her, a boy sighed, "Mabel, could you go just one day without going boy crazy?"

Mabel turned around and said, "Pshh, Dipper, I don't go boy crazy all the time..."

It's been a week since they were shipped off to the Mystery Ship and during the week, they landed on about seven days. In those seven planets, in seven days, Mabel went goo goo eyed at every boy there...

Dipper's expression certainly gave off that vibe and Mabel said, "C'mon bro-bro, while we are travelling around, I can find my dream boy! In fact, I won't be surprised if he was walking through that door right now..."

From that door Mabel pointed out was their Grunkle Stan holding out wooden signs and coughing.

Mabel was like, "What?".

Dipper was laughing.

"Now, I need someone to put these signs out here," Stan declared.

Out there, they landed in a middle of the forest in the planet Akiva though there were people populating there, of course. It was said to be filled with plenty of creatures, but Stan dismissed the idea.

"Not it," the twins both said.

"Also not it," a metallic voice said. It was actually a Wookie, Soos. He was a big furry, round bellied dude, who found employment under Stan 10 years ago. A voice modulator was fit to Soos' neck so they could understand what he said.

"No one ask you, Soos," Stan said. He looked at Wendy, who felt his stare even if she was reading a magazine. "How 'bout you, Wendy?"

"I would," she said, "But ugh... ugh," she said as she 'tried' to reach for the signs, "They are so far away."

Wendy was another employee under Stan, but she preferred to hang out with her friends back home at Alderaan. Every so often, she ditched work by getting her ship at the parking space and just left to have some fun.

The Mystery Ship, as told, was a tourist trap and even flying from planet to planet, the ship may receive some customers. So huge ship as it was, Stan made the lowest deck of the ship as a parking lot while the higher deck was a tourist attraction, along with rooms closed off: The kitchen, bedrooms, living room, etc.

"If I could fire you all, I would..." Stan said, then turned around to a certain robot, "How 'bout you two?" He asked the two robots, C3PO and R2D2.

C3PO has been a drone in the Mystery Ship since who knows when and has worked there ever since although he was a tad pessimistic and whiny.

R2D2 was the twins' chaperone from the parents not to do anything rash. So far, it didn't have much of a job to do yet, exempting Mabel's boy craziness.

The droids just fled. Stan sighed.

"Fine," Stan said and did the ini, mini, myni, mo thing and pointed at Dipper, "You."

"But... Grunkle Stan!" Dipper exclaimed, "They say that the forest is crawling with weird creatures and a mosquito actually bit 'Beware' on my arm while I was exploring around!" He showed the mark to Stan.

Stan squinted, "Be... warb? Anyway, kid, rumors of the forest is just to attract more people to this planet. You have to be an idiot to believe it. There's nothing there to harm you so stop being paranoid," He threw the wooden signs to Dipper who buckled under them.

Ah well, Dipper...

Before you know it, Dipper was hammering all the signs at the forest to point to the Mystery Ship starting at the edge of the forest where you could see a town nearby and slowly towards the Mystery Ship.

Dipper was grumbling all the way until he hammered a tree with a clang.

That wasn't exactly a sound trees made.

Dipper pressed his ear on the tree and tap it a few times just to hear the hollow 'clang, clang'.

"This tree is made of metal,' Dipper murmured. He examined it more closely, to reveal a door on the tree. It opened to a strange device where he fumbled with the switches.

This led to a creaking sound behind him and Dipper turned to find the ground sliding open to reveal a faded, tattered book.

The book was red with a golden six-fingered hand labeled with a big 3.

Dipper flipped the book, interested. The name of the author was not revealed. He read aloud the first page.

"My studies have led me to far more than I can hope for but at what cost? The Jedi and the Sith are a mysterious bunch but the Force is eternal. The two sides are warring with me caught at the middle. Who should I trust? What do I do? I have decided to study more of the Force before the decision made. My journey was a long and hard one but now, whoever stumbles upon this book, one advice I can give you clear: Trust no one..."

"Wow..." Dipper said softly. Jedi? Sith? The Force? Weren't those simply myths? His parents certainly said so, but this book proved otherwise. Then, he remembered the nervous looks when the twins ask about the Force...

Could that be the reason why they were sent away? Could this Journal hold all the answers?

He was flipping more through the journal which reveal the use of the Force and also creatures around the galaxy that shouldn't exist and noted whether helpful or not.

Dipper was so immersed that he was scared when Mabel was next to him and said, "Boo!"

"Wahh!" Dipper said and fell down. Mabel laughed.

"Oh, you scare so easily, Dipster. What 'cha reading anyway?" She asked.

Dipper hid the journal behind his back. He didn't feel like showing it yet. Trust no one, it said.

"It's... it's nothing," Dipper said shakily.

"It's... it's nothing," Mabel repeated so uncannily like Dipper, "Lighten up, bro-bro. You are really as paranoid as Grunkle Stan said. Aren't you really going to show me the book?"

Dipper laughed weakly. Not yet. So much is going on and all the answers might be in this book...

Back at the Mystery Ship, he was reading the journal. So much about the Force, the Jedi and Sith. Are all those real, though?

Also the creatures that reside all those planets. Talk about paranormal!

"Boo!" Mabel shouted.

"Agh!" Dipper screamed. Mabel was laughing.

"You really do scare easily, Dip," Mabel was still laughing.

"Was that screaming I hear?" A grumbly voice asked, Grunkle Stan.

Then, he came, no shirt and underwear as usual when not working. He laughed at the scene.

"That's my niece!" Stan ruffles Mabel's hair for spooking her brother, "What's that you reading, kid?" He asked Dipper when he noticed the book.

"Umm..." Under the sofa was a magazine and he showed it to Stan while reading the title, "Gold Chains for Old People magazine?"

"That's a good issue," Stan said.

"Why are you here, Mabel?" Dipper asked. Call it twin tuition but he noticed that spooking him wasn't the only reason she was here.

"Ah well, you caught me as usual, Dip. Time to spill the beans," Mabel said, tipping a can of beans, "Beans," she said humorously.

Then she announced, "This girl's got a boyfriend, y'all!"

"What? In the few hours I'm gone, you found a boy?" Dipper asked. He also couldn't help thinking 'poor soul,' mostly because of Mabel's boy craziness.

"Tada!" She said and out came a pale boy in a black hoodie. He had brown hair that covered one of his eyes and he was twitching a lot.

He said, "'Sup?"

"Hey," Stan said.

"What's up?" Dipper asked.

"We met at the cemetery. Wasn't that romantic?" Mabel gushed.

"What's your name?" Dipper asked the boy, who was still twitching.

"Normal... MAN!" The boy said, still twitching and a bit jumpy. Dipper, being paranoid, was a bit suspicious.

"He means Norman," Mabel said. "He's so dreamy..."

"So, you want to hang out?" Norman asked.

"Lets," Mabel said with pretend elegance and they ran off.

Dipper narrowed his eyes in suspicion. 'Could this possibly be one of the mystery's offered in the galaxy? Could this be something paranormal?'

Dipper suddenly went to his room and flipped through the journal until he found one page that seemed to connect with the mysterious twitchy 'Norman'.

He flipped through the journal until one page caught his eyes, 'zombies'.

"Zombies are able to look like male teenagers and reside in the cemeteries where they lure unsuspecting people so that... they can eat their brains?!" Dipper read aloud and was shocked at the last part.

He looked at the picture of the zombie and was flashed to Norman who eerily looked like the picture and saying, ''Sup?'

"Oh my gosh, Norman is a ZOMBIE!" Dipper exclaimed.

The word echoed that Stan even heard it while brushing his teeth.

"What? Did someone say 'Crombie'?" Then he shrugged and continued brushing his teeth.

Meanwhile, Dipper is in complete panic attack, thinking, 'What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?'

"Hey dude," a voice said.

"Waah!" Dipper screamed, only to see that it was Soos.

"So, I heard you like shouting something about zombie? What was that all about, dude?" He asked.

Dipper took a moment to response because his heart rate was slowing down.

"My sister is dating a zombie! There is no way I want her brain to be eaten!" Dipper sounded crazy and he thought Soos would say so but he just nodded.

"Yeah, dude. So you better warn her. She definitely needs to find better dating material," Soos said.

"Wait?" Dipper cocked his head, "You believe me?"

"'Course, dude. The universe is weird, a fact of life. In fact, I met a green little dude who could move things with his mind when I was very young. But you need to have proof, dude."

"Proof... You are right, Soos. Be right back!" Dipper said, excited to find proof to stop his sister dating a brain eating zombie.

Soos was looking at him running away and sighed.

"Young life and already full of, what did the green dude call it, the Force? Wendy, are you sure?" Soos asked to a shadowed part of the room.

Wendy came out, "The Force is rare, Soos, and we need all the help we can get but first he must prove himself," she said, then smiled.

"We will just observe. Everything is set. I don't mind hanging out here more having a more free life even if it's fake," she continued.

"A free life..." Soos mused.

"One day..." Wendy said, "When the Empire is finally gone..." Both of them finally lost in their own worlds.

Can they prove themselves?
