Miranda Mitchell grew up on the move. She would always move from home to home with her father, Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. Until she agreed to live in Fightertown where Tom "Iceman" Kazansky kept headquarters with his family. She grew up with twins Adam and Derek Kazanksy. While they pursued the Navy to become aviators, Miranda pursued engineering. Though she yearned to fly for the Navy, she would never be able to. Her Type One Diabetes held her back, but she never allowed the disease to control her.

Years passed and Miranda (after Ice pulled a few strings) worked with the F-18s and was a mechanic for Top Gun. When her father returns to Top Gun for a top secret mission, she demands to get involved. Old and new faces return for a suicide mission, and Miranda has to watch desperately hoping that everyone makes it home safely.

Miranda finds herself falling for one of her old friends, Jake "Hangman" Seresin, but refuses to pursue him because she believes he has a thing for Natasha "Phoenix" Trace.  During the weeks of training she attempts to match make them. Yet, after the mission is over, will love conquer all?
