Ren laughed loudly as she ran off. Shadow was chasing her down the hall. She ran into Flame quickly and then hid behind Rocky because he was there. Shadow growled when following after. Before she could get any further, the game paused. They stared at the paused screen without any movement or noises, they were silent.

"Save and quit?" The game asked, whoever was playing selected this and the characters were finally set free. (It's one of the chapters they get to do whatever! :D!)

"Good, that was killing me. I hate being controlled." Ren complained as she sighed quietly. She stretched around. Rocky chuckled and nodded.

"That's understandable." He smiled and outstretched a hand. "I'm sorry about my character, I wasn't able to properly introduce myself before. My name is Rocky. You're Ren?" Ren smiled and accepted his hand.

"You got it!" She grinned excitedly. "It's nice to meet you! You're character's kind of a dick, I hope you know?" Ren laughed. Rocky's cheeks tinted red and he rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. He was grinning widely.

"Hey, don't forget about me." Shadow peered from behind Flame. She grinned sheepishly. Flame turned as well, they were now in a minicircle. "You know who you remind me of?" Shadow asked, tilting her head. Ren's head tilted. "That Rin Okumura guy, from the Blue Exorcist Anime?"

"Oh yeah, that was the game designer's inspiration. It wasn't supposed to be totally like it, but you know. She kinda sucks at originality. She thought that Misty getting larger and smaller was original then remembered about the whole Kuro getting big then small thing." Ren nodded.

"I TAKE OFFENSE TO THAT!" The author yelled when she glanced up from what she was writing. She was nowhere in sight, but she could still hear them.

"Where did that come from?!" Flame's eyes widened as he looked around. Ren shrugged. The playing screen returned. Ren sighed as they went back to their original positioning.

(HAHA JUST KIDDING ;-; ) "Continue?" The screen read. The player selected such. The game continued and Shadow was once again chasing after the laughing Ren. The scene played out again, Ren ran into Flame and then hid behind the further away; Rocky. Shadow was chasing after her quickly. Flame blocked off the path.

"What happened?" He sighed.

"She took my guns!" Shadow complained. Ren stuck her tongue out at Shadow, then paused at the accusation.

"No, I didn't!" Her arms crossed. "I'm very hurt that you'd accuse me of such!" Ren replied with crossed arms.

"Ren, just give them back." Rocky groaned, he could tell she was lying. Ren grumbled and held the out to Shadow.

"I could shoot you with these right now, you know that?!" Shadow hissed in frustration. Ren stuck her tongue out again. Shadow returned the look then stormed off towards her room. Misty ran passed her quickly. She had Ren's sword in her mouth and she looked slightly scared. Misty instantly jumped up onto Ren's shoulder, hitting Ren in the face with the sword. Ren's head leaned back as Misty dropped the sword into her hands quickly. 

"Something's going on! I can feel it! Something bad is happening!" Misty panicked. Ren snapped back and blinked in confusion. "I think it's in the woods..." Misty insisted then jumped to the ground and ran off towards the door. Ren quickly turned and ran after her.

"Ren!" Rocky yelled and hurried after her. He glanced back at Flame, who nodded and went off in the other direction.

"Misty slow down!" Ren yelled as she sprinted after her. Misty didn't listen. Something definitely was going on in the woods. Soe sort of demon was going crazy. How it broke through the school's defense was a good question. Maybe the same way Ren, Misty, and Max did. Maybe it was invited in? Ren pulled her sword's sheath over her head, setting it on her body. She was dodging people just as fast as she sprinted forward. 

Rocky couldn't keep up especially not with all the hearts distracting him, only focusing on Ren's was impossible. Girls started to surround him as he rushed around. Now he was stuck. Flame was getting Shadow and the weapons. They figured something serious was going on. 

Trees were falling over quickly with the rampaging demon. Ren wasn't quite sure what level it was yet, but it was pretty powerful. Misty fell back as she ran then jumped up onto Ren's shoulder. Ren drew her sword, the power returned. Her eye sight had a slight change in the way it was, it was better now. Her teeth even sharpened a bit more and her tail straightened into a red end. Her hat fell off as she ran, revealing red horns on her head. The demon was visible now, a class three. Not very strong, but strong enough. What type, Ren couldn't remember. Max had been talking about it in class, but she had been spaced out at that point. The demon wasn't large, about the size of Misty, but it sure was strong. It looked kind of like a pig of some sort. Misty growled lowly, she wasn't speaking now, but she was definitely defensive.

"Do we fight it?" Ren whispered out, it almost wasn't audible. In her ears, though, it was clear and loud. The pig-like animal glared over.

"Yes," Misty answered and dropped down to the ground. The pig moved towards them. They were in a cramped wooded area. Ren watched the pigs movement closely.

Meanwhile;

Rocky had found Ren's fallen hat. Dirt was scattered on top of it. That wasn't reassuring. Shadow panted as she paused momentarily.

"We have to find her if something's in these woods she won't have any idea how to stop it." Shadow huffed. Flame ran passed them. They quickly followed. Rocky stuffed Ren's hat into his pocket.

Back to Ren;

She had already been thrown around multiple times. Misty was in pain as well, she was on her side in a small clearing. This demo did not want to leave. Ren slowly stood, the demon inched closer. Ren's had slowly raised as it moved closer. She stepped forward just the way it had. That seemed to anger it more. It sprinted at Ren, she jumped out of the way. The tree, however, fell down towards Misty, who couldn't move. Ren slid down beside Misty. She was holding the tree up with all the energy she possessed. Moving Misty would definitely be a challenge and that demon was getting a lot closer.

"Well, Princess, I wouldn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. You've betrayed us all." The demons dark and chalky voice hissed out. The tree pushed down harder or Ren's arm, drawing some blood. Her sword, that was trapped under her with her overhand, leaned up slightly towards the demon. "You can either drop the tree, kill that stupid pet, and come with me, or I can kill yo-" Two quick shots rang out the demon instantly faded off. Shadow was standing on the other side with a small scowl.

"Dammit, Ren." She sighed heavily. Flame had already grabbed Misty and backed up. Rocky tried to pull the tree up, even a bit. Ren shifted slightly and threw the tree to the side. Her arm was bleeding and it hurt, but she wasn't paying any attention to it. She slowly slid the sword away into its sheath and returned to normal. Ren took Misty from Flame and rubbed her head.

"You're okay..." Ren assured quietly. Misty shifted around uncomfortably.

"That hurt a lot," Misty complained. She sat up slowly and crawled up onto en's shoulder. Ren sighed in relief. Rocky took a hold of her arm and examined it. Ren smacked at him angrily. Rocky leaned away from it. His eyes widened slightly in surprise.

"The wound's gone..." He muttered out then snatched up Ren's previously injured hand. The wound on there had disappeared as well. She hadn't wrapped it up at all since the nurse had. He stared curiously at her had. "What the hell?" He muttered out. Ren snatched her hand back quickly. Rocky frowned slightly. Ren returned to making sure Misty was okay. Misty licked Ren's cheek reassuringly. Ren sighed quietly and dropped her head.

"What the hell Ren?!" Shadow snapped at Ren. She had the little black flames radiating off of her skin now. Ren paused and stared at her curiously. "I thought you were really hurt! You can't just do that!" She continued in her angry rampage. Ren was watching the blackness as Shadow paced. She poked it curiously, it burned. Ren yelped out in pain and waved her hand around. Shadow paused and stared at her blankly. Ren was pouting and holding her pointer finger tightly. "What'd you do?" Shadow growled.

"She touched the flames." flame sighed and face palmed.

"No one said not to!" Ren defended in a pouting voice. Rocky sighed.

"Come on Ren, let's go get your arm cleaned up." He led her off carefully. Ren didn't argue. Shadow and Flame followed quickly. 

Later;

Ren and Misty were sitting in Mr. King's office and getting an earful from Shadow, Flame, Rocky, and Mr. King. Ren laid her head on her hand and quietly sighed. Max was listening from outside the door. He was leaned on the wall and casually screwing with his phone. The whole conversation amused him. 

"Okay, okay. I won't go off on my own again." Ren groaned out.

"It's not just that!" Rocky sighed as he leaned on the large desk. "You need to tell people what's going on." He instructed Ren sternly. Ren tilted her head slightly.

"Fine." She agreed.

"Good." Shadow huffed. Flame stared at Ren as if he was trying to figure something out. Ren was staring at the wall boredly, she was frowning slightly. Misty was seated in her lap with lowered ears and a lowered tail. He watched her for a bit longer. There was a long period of silence throughout the room. Ren glanced over at Flame, feeling his stare. She gave him a questioned look, but he didn't flinch.

"Can I have food now?" Ren asked excitedly. Her stomach grumbled to go along with her question.

"Alright, alright." Mr. King agreed. "Why don't we all go eat? Sort of like a family thing?" He offered.

"Yeah, okay." Shadow agreed with a nod. Ren nodded in agreement. Max glanced at the door as footsteps drew closer. He turned and calmly walked down the corridor as the group exited. Rocky gave him an unnoticed suspicious look but followed after everyone else. Max glanced back with a smirk and began following after them.

In the restaurant Mr. Kig brought them too;

Max was casually seated in his own seat and eating. Ren didn't know and she wouldn't for a while, but Max keeps following her around. Rocky knew about it, though, and it pissed him off. Ren was eating as much food as she could, like normal. Misty was seated beside her and pouting because no one was sharing. Mr. King was making up as much conversation as he could while eating. Shadow was pretty much ignoring him. Flame and Rocky were really the only ones to reply. Flame was respectfully eating and talking while he did so. He always seemed to be the most respectful. Rocky was eating and talking as well, though, occasionally he would glance at Max. 

When Max got up to use the bathroom, Rocky did too. Max smirked slightly as the door opened. He was leaned on the wall and waiting for Rocky. 

"I see you've figured me out?" Max asked while forcing the door closed. He locked it after Rocky. Rocky quickly faced him.

"I have," Rocky answered calmly. Max was now cockily leaned on the door.

"Then maybe you can help me? You clearly want her gone, and I need her help. Why not let me take her, then when I'm done with her, you  can get rid of her?" Max offered teasingly.

"Hell no!" Rocky snapped while stepping forward. Max smirked slightly.

"Why? Are you worried someone might not like you after? Shadow maybe? You seem to like her a lot." Max replied. Rocky snarled slightly. "Not quite there? Maybe Flame then?" Rocky's snarl stayed the same. Max contemplated for a moment while glancing around. "Or maybe it is Ren?" He whispered lowly into Rocky's ear. Somehow he had gotten behind him. Rocky turned quickly, Max was back to leaning on the door within an instant.

Flame was standing on the other side of the door. He had come to confront Rocky about why he had lied, or maybe to just see why. Now, though, he was just listening with a frown. Max glanced back at the door and smirked. He opened the door for Flame dramatically.

"Oh please, come in. Your thoughts are so loud they're almost hearable." Max chuckled. Flame froze when the door opened. "I said," Max reached out and pulled him into the bathroom. He closed and locked the door once again. "Come in." Max looked back and forth between the two other boys curiously. "We all seem to be intrigued by the same girl, don't we?" Max asked. Neither Flame nor Rocky responded verbally, only with their body language. Max smirked slightly. "I figured as much. Well, Flame, Rocky, I'm afraid I'm in need of Ren currently. Maybe when I'm through with her, one of you can have her." Max turned to the door, unlocked it, and exited calmly. He returned to his table and went back to eating "alone."

Flame and Rocky stood in the bathroom a few moments longer. They were in a frustrated silence. Flame was the first to move and storm out of the bathroom back to the shared table. Rocky followed soon after.

"Took you guys long enough," Shadow complained when they returned. "What took you so long? Did one of you start to drown or something?" She continued to complain. Flame was staring at Ren's mostly empty spot, Misty was laying down on the cushion. Shadow followed his gaze curiously. She gave him an annoyed look. "She went to the bathroom, calm down." Shadow sighed in frustration. Mr. King watched both boys silently. His brows furrowed worriedly at them. He frowned slightly.

"Move Misty," Ren whined when she returned. Misty simply rolled onto her back. She seemed to speak, but no one but Ren knew what she said... Well, Max did too. Ren grumbled and went to move her. Misty growled back Ren's eye twitched in frustration. Shadow sighed once more. Ren threatened to sit on Misty. Misty ignored her until Ren actually went to sit, that's when Misty jumped onto Shadow's lap.

"Don't terrorize your partner." Mr. King warned with a chuckle. Misty and Ren were having a glaring contest. Mr. King sighed. One of the waiters walked over with the bill. Mr. King paid, now they were waiting for Rocky and Flame to finish eating. They didn't, so eventually they left.

In Rocky and Flame's room, it was abnormally quiet. They seemed to both be thinking a bit too hard for their poor brains. 

In Ren's and Shadow's room it was quiet because Shadow was doing homework and Ren was asleep. She had actually done her homework and caught up on studying somehow and was finally able to rest.

"What'd he mean by 'We all seem to be intrigued by the same girl'?" Flame finally asked. Rocky's eyes traced over and he simply shrugged.

"I dunno man." Rocky lied with a sigh. Flame gave him a "you're a lying little shit" look. Rocky shrugged once more and laid back on his bed. Flame did the same and attempted to rest.
