Chapter 3

The tour was short, but they covered every building, room, food place, and bathroom. All the essentials. They were already back in their room, which, was right beside Flame's and Rocky's room. There was a loud knock on the door. Ren was sitting at a desk and scrolling through Shadow's computer. She glanced at the door.

"Get the damn door, Ren," Shadow ordered she was on her phone. Ren glanced at her and went to get the door.

"Miss me?" Rocky was leaning on the door with a toothy smirk. Ren's eyes rolled. Flame waved from behind him. They were both carrying their weapons, which they hadn't had since they got back. "Are you guys coming?" Rocky asked, standing fully. Shadow sat up, stood, then walked over she had her guns already.

"Where exactly are we going?" Ren asked before moving.

"Class, genius," Shadow answered.

"Don't give us the whole 'my class doesn't start until tomorrow' crap, you have one today. Exorcism," Rocky grinned, "now, will you please step out of the freaking door so we can get going?" He was being very impatient. Ren and Shadow walked out, Shadow closing the door after her. She instantly faced it and waved her hand around. She opened the door again and there was a new entrance. Ren stared blankly as Shadow entered. Rocky nudged her forward so she would enter. She did, so did the boys.

The hall they had entered was pretty tall, it looked old and worn. It was still operable, though. Flame tugged Ren forward because she wasn't moving. "come on." He ordered gently and brought her to a classroom. There weren't many kids in there, but the ones that were looked slightly freaked when they saw Ren. She awkwardly waved and followed Flame to a seat. Shadow was sitting in the back with Rocky. Ren was sitting by the back window with Flame. The other kids were all watching the entire time. The door opened once more, Max walked in. The kids fumbled into seats quickly. Max stood in the front by the main desk. Ren glanced at him once, then dismissed him and looked back out the window. He started with a roll call. Different random names.

"Rocky?" He finally addressed.

"Yup," Rocky answered and raised his hand.

"Shadow?" Max called, glancing around.

"Right here." She answered and waved her hand.

"Flame?"

"Yes, sir." Flame answered, sitting up slightly taller.

"Ah, newbie." Max cheered cockily. "Ren?" Ren glanced over, catching Max's eye contact. He gave her an expectant look. Ren sighed and raised her hand up.

"Right here," she answered and dropped her hand. She rested her head on her hand and glanced back ut the window.

"Ren," Max called after some sort of lecture. Ren's eyes trailed over. "Do you have a weapon of any sort? Or a companion?" Ren's head shook. Max grinned in response. "You know what that means, class." Why the hell is he a teacher? Ren wondered silently. Max waved her to the front of the room. She didn't move. Shadow snickered because of this. Max grumbled. "Ren, come up here, now." He growled. The class was watching. She still didn't move. She felt a small jolt of pain and winced. Flame gave her a concerned look. She stood and walked towards the front of the room silently.

They tried multiple random weapons, so far, none of them were working nd the class was getting bored.

Ren had actually managed to make some sort of pattern and summon something, a small wolf actually. Don't be fooled by its size, though, it tried to tear Ren apart when she first summoned it. Shadow was laughing the entire time until Flame smacked her in the back of the head.

Now, they were back to weapons. Max had a "special" one, really, it was the sword he had taken from Ren's parents at a young age. She wouldn't know about that, though. The blade was narrow but had some sort of power behind it. That was obvious through the sheath. She revealed the sword, a jolt of energy and a very strange feeling.

Through the classes' point of view, Ren was becoming some sort of monster. They instantly went towards their weapons. The back row, however, was watching curiously. Max extended his hand calmly to the group, it didn't seem they liked the fact he thinks it's fine. Ren placed the red and silver blade away, the black handle remained visible and she seemed to be the "normal" Ren. The wolf, Misty, was watching from a seated position at Ren's part of the desk. She had felt what Ren did, and it made her worry slightly.

"What the hell was that?" One of the kids yelled out while standing. Ren shrugged slightly.

"I don't know..." She mumbled back nervously. She felt the electric shock again and winced. They kids gave her an annoyed look.

"Go sit, Ren," Max ordered kindly. She did and Max went on with some sort of lesson that Ren tuned out of.

"Ren, after class I'm going to need you to stay," Max ordered. Ren sighed quietly when glancing over. He went back to talking about something. Flame glanced at Ren worriedly.

"I can take your stuff back if you want." Flame offered in quietly. Ren nodded in response.

After everyone had left when the "class" ended, Ren and Max were seated across from each other. Both on top of a table. Ren sighed as she waited for Max to start. He didn't.

"Why are you a teacher?" Ren questioned with an annoyed tone. Max shrugged back. Ren grumbled, "what's with the collar?" She felt a small jolt of electric pain.

"That," he answered with a smirk. She glared at him as she pulled at the collar. Max shocked her again, but for longer this time. She gave up the fight while dropping her head. "A lot more obedient than I expected." Max grinned to himself. He slowly stood and approached the glaring Ren.

"What the hell do you want?" Ren hissed, he was directly in front of her right now.

"As for why I asked you to stay." His face leaned closer to Ren's. "Well, Princess," before he could continue, the door opened. Max had papers places in front of Ren and he was standing beside his desk. Flame entered awkwardly.

"Sorry, I forgot my textbook earlier and remembered to get it..." He smiled awkwardly. Max nodded dismissively and Flame went to get his crap.

"If you have any more questions, Ren, ask Flame. That's all for today. I have to go now, Flame, make sure to lock the door when you leave." He waved his hand and walked out. Ren had a blank expression as she watched Max leave. Flame walked over and placed his hand on her head reassuringly. He gave her a cheerful smile. Ren glanced away awkwardly. Flame frowned and leaned back. He carried his textbook in one hand as he walked towards the door. His eyes flickered back to Ren, who hadn't moved.

"Are you coming?" He frowned and turned slightly. Ren slid off the table and grabbed the small stack of annoying papers. She walked up behind him. He did a few things towards the door and opened it, it revealed a room Ren had never seen. Rocky was walking from a back hall. He had soaked hair, a towel, shorts, and no shirt. He was messing with his hair by using a towel. His eyes trained over with the opening of the door.

"Oh, hey guys." Rocky waved awkwardly. Ren's cheeks tinted slightly, but she glanced away awkwardly. Rocky smirked at this. Flame closed the door behind him, a locking noise, but he had done nothing. The regular lights from the dorm's halls' returned around the door. Ren turned towards the door, but it opened from the other side and she was hit directly in the middle of the head. She dropped all the papers she had and covered her forehead. Shadow was standing there awkwardly.

"Whoops." Shadow snickered at Ren's reaction. Ren glared harshly at her. Shadow smirked slightly.

"You did that on purpose!" Ren accused angrily. Shadow scoffed.

"How would I've known you were on the other side of the door?" Shadow snapped back. They were in each other's face now. Flame sighed dramatically and hit each of them on the head with his textbook. They both instantly went to pouting and glaring at him. Rocky had already picked up all of Ren's papers and was currently reading through them. Flame hit him on the head as well. Rocky glared at him while quickly putting the papers to his side. Ren snatched back her papers. Misty squirmed her way into the room and sat there with an excited look.

"Are we playing a game?" Misty barked out. Everyone looked at her while she spoke. He tail dropped worriedly. Ren sighed softly.

"No, Misty," Ren answered. Ren learned Misty's name rather than giving her it.

"You named her Misty?" Shadow scoffed. "That's a dumb name!" Misty was going off on her. Ren's eyes widened slightly while Misty barked out angrily. Shadow's eyes rolled, she ignored Misty and faced the boys. "We got a mission." Ren glanced up curiously, Shadow caught her glance and sighed. "No, Ren, you're not coming."

"No fair!" Ren whined back.

"She's right, you can't come, you're too inexperienced." Flame agreed. Ren grumbled quietly.

"Just go back to your room," Rocky ordered and pointed at the door. She left frustratedly with Misty, who was also frustrated.
