Chapter 4 - Tonight the Streets are Ours
"Ok..." Sam said as he sat on the apartment couch "Spill"
It was much later in the evening after Holly's team won the league semi-finals.
"You two were spying on us the whole time, what's there to tell?" Holly laughed as she drank her beer "Don't think I didn't know..."
"Come on, Holz!" Jess said as she sat on the floor against the couch "This is like the first time you've shown any interest in anyone in years"
"Fine..." Holly sighed as she slid from the couch down to the floor.
"Oh shit," Sam said sliding down to the floor "I didn't think we'd get it from you that easily.
After saying goodbye to Quill and leaving her number with him, Holly, Jess and Sam returned to Jess and Holly's apartment for more drinks and socializing. Now, all three sat on the living room floor, slightly tipsy.
"He's so damn easy to talk to," Holly admitted "For real, I haven't felt that comfortable talking to a guy I'm interested in...ever!"
"And??" Jess asked eagerly "I thought I saw you holding hands!!"
"Oh that," Holly remembered "That was sort of an accident...or maybe it was on purpose, he's smooth" she laughed "I dunno', he was admiring my tattoo... then, I guess his hand just sort of slipped into mine"
"Oh fer cute" Sam teased, he feigned falling into Jess's lap.
Holly made an over dramatic sigh and lay on the floor as well, resting her head on Sam's shoulder.
"I dunno'," she said "We're going on a date Friday night, I shouldn't be this stupid over some guy...we're in our freaking 30's"
"Yeah, and you spent most of your 20's traveling or with the asshole," Jess said, reaching for her drink.
"Shit!" Holly exclaimed, sitting up quickly.
"What's up?" Sam asked.
"I just realized, he's like this superhero, avenger, helped save the world and I know nothing about it other than little bits and pieces," Holly worried "I'll look like an asshole!"
She fell back onto the floor.
"First of all, that was adorable" Jess laughed "Second...he's not actually an Avenger..and I can help you brush up on that knowledge if you want"
"See? We got you," Sam said "But I don't think it's going to matter what you know about that, he seems pretty interested in you too"
"I'm just nervous...this is my first date in ages," Holly admitted "I mean, at least that I cared about"
*
"Do I look alright?" Holly asked Jess as she entered the downstairs area of the apartment.
"Relax Holz," Jess said "You look fine"
Holly, decided rather than trying to impress, she wanted to wear something she felt good in. She stood in the bathroom mirror touching up her makeup, wearing black jeans, a black and white striped fitted tshirt, the jacket she wore most days, and black combat boots.
She jumped as the buzzer to the apartment rang.
Jess answered "Yo...yeah, sweet....we're in apartment 603, come on up"
"Ugh...I should've worn a dress...or skirt...or something cute..." Holly sighed as she started thinking.
"I can tell what you're thinking," Jess laughed "No you don't have time to change"
Before she could argue, there was a knock at the door.
"Hi," Holly said, answering the door, a smile crept across her face as she saw Peter standing before her. Much as she'd been confident in their first meeting, she was often struck by how handsome he really was with his curly strawberry blonde hair and striking green eyes.
"Hey," he said with a subtle smirk "Miss me?"
"Maaaaybe" Holly smiled.
"Now you have her back by morning, you hear me?" Jess mockingly scolded. "And Holly?"
"What?" Holly rolled her eyes and laughed slightly.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do," Jess said sternly "Unless you do it better"
"So, you haven't told me what we're doing yet," Quill said as they entered the elevator together.
"Well," Holly began as he put an arm around her, "The way I see it, you're new to this weird little state, you seem to like Prince and decent music...and while you may be wrong on Footloose vs Purple Rain, I can convince you otherwise"
Quill quirked an eyebrow, urging her to continue.
"So, first..we should go to First Ave," Holly explained "It's THE club. And by that I mean, where Purple Rain was shot. They also have a monthly Retro dance night, which happens to be tonight"
Peter spun her to face him, his hands on her hips.
"Is someone trying to impress me?" He smirked playfully.
"I mean...you've flown throughout the galaxy, I have to do something cool if I want to keep your interest" Holly flirted.
"You've definitely got my interest, sweetheart," Quill said, pulling her in close as the elevator let out a loud 'ding' signaling they had arrived on the ground floor.
"And somebody seems to be getting awfully close this early on a first date," Holly teased as she turned to walk out of the elevator.
As they stepped outside, Quill led her to a red motorcycle parked on the side of the road.
"You're going to hate that when winter hits," she teased as he handed her a helmet.
"Yeah, I know" he agreed "But I always wanted one as a kid, might as well live it up a little...and confidentially? It was easier to fake a license and ride this than driving a car. Besides it's a few months before winter"
"Sure," Holly smirked "Just because it's a relatively late summer, doesn't mean there won't be snow by Halloween"
She pulled her dark brown hair into a loose ponytail before putting the helmet on.
"Good thing I've got you to let me know the ins and outs of the weather," Peter chuckled.
Holly positioned herself on the seat behind Peter, secretly glad she had decided against wearing a skirt.
"You'll have to tell me where we're going," he said "And hold on tight"
After giving him directions, she put her arms around his waist.
"And you were giving me shit for getting too close on a first date," He chuckled.
"I'm just holding on because if I fall, I'm taking you with me!" She laughed.
As they made their way through the city, Holly felt herself holding Peter tighter, not just for safety. She wasn't sure if it was the smell of his leather jacket and cologne, the fact that anytime they were at a stoplight he would be singing various songs she loved before checking on her, all she knew was she never wanted to let go.
*
"Wow..." Quill said looking around as the stepped into the main floor of the club "You weren't joking, it really is THE club from Purple Rain"
"Did you think I would lie to you?" Holly teased "I thought you liked me"
Peter gave her a sarcastic look.
"Drinks or dancing first?" Holly asked.
He answered her by wrapping an arm around her waist and leading her to the dance floor. Holly was surprised at just how comfortable they seemed already, she wasn't unhappy about it, however.
"You can't make me dance around
But your two-step makes my chest pound.."
The song wasn't one Quill recognized, he spun Holly into him and continued dancing before speaking.
"I don't know this song," he admitted "It sounds like the Bee Gees, sort of? My mom was into them for awhile"
"Oh! Right," Holly said over the music "It's not..they're a group called Scissor Sisters...the dj sometimes plays some modern stuff that has a retro feel to it...although, this was released in the early 2000's so I guess it's old now"
"I like it," he smiled before spinning her out again, noticing she could hold her own on the dance floor.
'There are two types of beings in the universe; those who dance and those who do not'
Peter heard Drax's words ring through his mind, as he continued dancing with Holly.
'You just need to find a woman who is pathetic, like you'
He laughed to himself as he pulled her close again.
"Any chance you're pathetic?" Peter asked.
"Only with those I'm close to," Holly said, raising an eyebrow "Should I be offended that you're even asking?" She laughed.
"Not at all," Peter chuckled before the next song began playing. They continued dancing and flirting, only pausing to grab a quick drink at the bar and when Holly challenged Quill to a game of Pac Man at an old arcade machine which he was incredibly amused by, especially when he maintained his winning streak from childhood.
"Oh, I swear (What he means)
At this moment you mean everything"
Peter spun Holly toward him so she was against him, his arms around her from behind.
"My thoughts verge on dirty,
Oh, come on Eileen"
"I don't think I told you yet," he said quietly into her ear "I love how you look tonight"
"Oh, you are smooth" Holly smirked as she turned over her shoulder to face him, they both moved in closer, about to kiss.
"Omigod! HOLL-EEEEEE" a man's voice called out.
"Goddammit," Holly muttered, her lips brushing against Quill's.
"You have the worst timing ever, bitch!" she laughed turning to the thin man in front of her wearing a fishnet top and leather pants. Another man with blue hair, dressed in a t-shirt, jeans and denim jacket stood next to him.
"I told him we should just catch up with you another time," the blue-haired man said.
"And I said 'nonsense! Holly loves us and we haven't seen her in ages'" he responded.
Peter, still keeping his arms around Holly, was amused at what was happening in front of him.
"Peter," Holly said looking back at him "These are my friends, Brandon and Joey-who has the worst timing ever"
"Good to meet you both," Peter smiled "Peter Quill"
"Oh we know who you are, Jess told us everything" Joey, the more flamboyant of the two, grinned. Joey turned his attention to Holly again "Holly darling, I'm so sorry we missed your bout last weekend"
"Family thing," Brandon said.
"It's fine," Holly said as Peter swayed her gently "You'd better be at the finals to make it up to me!"
"By the way, Holly.." Joey said putting his hands on his hips indignantly "What was this about you standing up the date I set up for you months ago?"
She knew Joey was teasing, but her face went bright pink nevertheless.
"Omigod, you're a dick" she laughed, she heard Quill laugh softly at the exchange happening.
"If you must know," she continued, "I thought seeing my family after them being gone for 5 years was more important than a date I was set up on"
"Fine, fine," Joey rolled his eyes. "I GUESS you're right. He's just a coworker anyway, I barely know him, so it's not that big of a deal"
Joey leaned in to whisper "Plus, it seems like you're doing alright for yourself"
"Come on Jo-Jo," Brandon said "I want to dance and we should let them have their date"
"Fine, fine," Joey said taking Brandon's hand "Holly, you owe me a coffee date! Soon!"
*
It was later that evening, after midnight. After a night of dancing and enjoying the music, they found themselves in a small diner.
"Ok, weirdest thing you've ever been asked to tattoo?" Quill asked as he stirred the shared milkshake between himself and Holly.
"Oh god, I hate this question" Holly admitted as she took a drink from the milkshake "I once had to do a portrait of David Bowie from his Ziggy Stardust days...but his bottom half was an octopus...don't ask me where the dude wanted one of the main tentacles.."
Peter stifled a laugh.
"We had to compromise because I was not tattooing THAT!" Holly laughed.
"Alright, your turn," Peter grinned "Ask me anything"
"Biggest fear?" Holly asked.
"Orloni," Peter said without thinking "Little hairless rat-like things, found all over the galaxy"
"Come on," Holly laughed "Give me a real answer, it can't be little hairless rat things"
Peter laughed softly as he took another sip of the milkshake.
"Honestly," he sighed "Being alone...I had to fend for myself when I was with the Ravagers, but it was still kind of a family, then I was on my own for a while before the Guardians, but I wasn't um..lacking for company...but when Gamora died, and I saw Drax..and Mantis just..crumble away..it was the most terrifying thing and the next thing I knew, everything faded around me and I woke up 5 years later ready to fight. I never thought I'd miss Drax trying to break my back with a hug"
"Shit..." Holly said placing her hand on his "I'm really sorry, you didn't have to tell me all that, if you didn't want to"
"I wouldn't have said anything if I didn't want to," Peter smiled as he laced his fingers with hers. "Same question for you"
"I guess," Holly pressed her lips together "Losing those I love...the last 5 years were so hard without my family, when I went to my parents' house after everything..and just found ash...their coffee cups still warm...then my sisters homes...empty...I sometimes wonder if I didn't have Jess and Sam, if I'd have made it to see them again...it may be a little weird since life is so different and they're all back, but I'd rather have it be weird than the way it was."
Peter was silent but squeezed her hand in support.
"Although," she chuckled softly "It would have been nice if my ex could have remained ash...I was literally breaking up with him when the snap happened"
"My breakup happened on the battlefield," Peter smirked "painfully" he paused, correcting himself "to be fair, that wasn't really my Gamora...some weird infinity stone magic or whatever"
"Oof.." Holly sighed "This conversation got a bit serious"
"It's alright," Peter smiled, "I said I wanted to get to know you, I'm doing that"
She was quiet for a moment, she glanced at their hands intertwined together on the table and smiled before looking back at his face, he was charming, that was for sure, but she hoped he was actually interested in her. She wasn't sure how long he'd be on earth, but she hoped this wasn't just one night stand.
"I've got an idea," she said, brightening up.
*
"Ok, here," Holly said as Quill slowed the motorcycle down "Just find a spot and follow me"
Soon, they arrived on the bank of a lake. It was late and silent.
"Perfect," she said as she took off her boots.
"Perfect?" Peter asked, cocking his head.
"Yeah," she answered removing her jacket "In the spirit of the great purple one, you have to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka"
She crossed her arms, grinning widely.
"No way," Peter laughed "I know that scene, you'll get me in the water then tell me that ain't Lake Minnetonka"
"C'mon, I wouldn't do that to you," she said "I'll even jump in as well"
She took off her shirt and jeans, leaving her only in her underwear and extremely happy for the late summer weather.
"You're serious?" Quill said, watching as she put her hair up in a haphazard bun, noticing aside from the tattoo on her arm, she had a large tattoo along her right side of various plants. This wasn't the turn he'd expected the evening to take, but he wasn't complaining.
"Dead serious," she said stepping into the water "Fuck! It's cold"
She moved further into the water until it was up to her shoulders.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" she asked, trying not to shiver, while her body adjusted to the temperature of the water.
Peter shrugged as he removed his jacket.
Holly bit her lip, she'd always been a bit impulsive but this was even shocking for her. Holly watched as he removed his shirt, he wasn't lacking in physique, and she hoped she wasn't staring too much.
"Enjoying the view?" Quill smirked as he noticed her staring.
"Can't complain," Holly teased as he stripped down to his boxers.
"Do you do this with all your dates?" he asked as he made his way to her in the water.
"Nope," she said as his arms went around her waist "You're the first"
She ran her hands up his chest before her arms went around his neck.
"I have been dying to kiss you all night," Peter admitted "But I keep getting interrupted, the elevator, friends at the club.."
"So what's stopping you now?" she asked with a smirk.
"I'm worried a fish is going to bite me in the ass if I try," he laughed softly as he moved closer, his lips just barely brushing hers.
"I'm willing to take that risk if you are," Holly smiled.
Quill closed the gap between them, kissing her softly. Holly smiled into the kiss as he pulled her even closer and the kiss became deeper. She felt him press into her softly, she wrapped her legs around his waist under the water.
"Worth the risk?" she asked when they finally broke away.
"Totally," he said pressing his forehead against hers, he bit his lip for a moment before continuing, "You know, I've got a place...not far from here and.."
"And you want me to go home with you?" Holly asked before kissing him again.
"Only if you want to," he answered, his tone more serious.
"I suppose it's pretty late," she thought out loud, remaining close to him "It would be a pain in the ass to get me back to St Paul...and I'm not taking a bus this late..."
He smiled and kissed her again, interrupting her train of thought.
"So you know," she said "I'm not usually this forward, but..."
"But you find me totally irresistible," Peter laughed softly. "I know, I get that a lot"
"Prick," Holly laughed as she playfully smacked him in the chest, before finding her footing on the lakebed again.
"That wasn't very nice," Quill smirked before kissing her again "I'm offering my hospitality, a place to dry these clothes and most importantly...a warm bed" he pulled her into his body again and kissed her.
"Fine," Holly conceded, breaking away from the kiss as she started moving toward the shore. "I should tell you something before we go"
Peter cocked his head slightly, following her.
A smirk curled across Holly's lips as she stopped and leaned closer.
"This ain't Lake Minnetonka" she whispered before moving as fast as she could to get back to the lakeshore.
"I knew it!" Quill laughed as he raced after her "you little shit!"
**
It was nearly 2am. Peter parked his bike on the street outside a dark green house, it was an older house and kept extremely well.
"I'm just renting the basement out," he explained quietly "the Wisniewskis went all out making the basement into its own dwelling...entrance is just around the back"
He smiled as he took Holly's hand in his and led her around the back of the house.
"Fuck sakes Holly," She thought to herself, she had started second-guessing herself "You've only been on one date with this guy...what are you doing?"
She felt Quill squeeze her hand softly, interrupting her thoughts.
"Hey," he said quietly as they reached the door "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine," Holly smiled nervously. He could tell she was lying.
"You know,Holly," he said taking both her hands in his "We don't have to do anything tonight if you don't want to, if that's what's got you nervous"
Peter had had a reputation, and he'd even had a one night stand a week into his stay on Earth when he was trying to get over Gamora. He wasn't sure how long he'd planned to stay on Earth, but he did know he wanted to see Holly again.
"I'm just overthinking," she sighed "It's something I'm pro at"
She shivered slightly, the air was getting a bit colder and the damp clothes weren't helping.
"Let's go inside at least," he smiled.
*
"Thanks for letting me borrow a shirt," Holly said as she stepped into the lounge of Peter's apartment, she suddenly felt timid and changed in the bathroom.
"No worries," he smiled as he sat on the couch, he had changed into a pair of pajama pants himself.
Holly sat next to him, his arm was instantly around her. She glanced at the graphic on the light blue shirt he'd lent her. It showed a futuristic-looking city with the words 'Visit Xandar' across it.
"So.." she began "What's Xandar?"
"Ah, a planet that loves us," Peter laughed "They're pretty modern, sometimes a little douchey...used to hate me and my team...but we saved their butts and my team is helping them finish rebuilding after the war and the snap"
"Why did they hate you?" Holly asked, cocking her head.
"Well, let's just say, none of the guardians are exactly model citizens," he chuckled "And Xandar? Is home to the Nova Corps...space cops basically, much as we saved them..they still keep an eye on us"
Holly smiled as she snuggled into his arms, she was enjoying hearing about his life traveling the galaxy.
"Maybe I'll take you someday," he added warmly.
'If you keep saying that," Holly laughed softly "I might just believe you"
They were quiet a moment.
"Um, sorry I was overthinking before.." Holly apologized "I just don't...I'm not usually this forward, but I guess..I dunno'...I dig you quite a lot"
'Fuck that was dumb' Holly thought to herself 'dig you? What the actual f–'
"Well, that's good" Quill grinned as he pulled her closer "Because confidentially, I dig you quite a lot too"
"Awesome," she laughed slightly "Because that was probably the lamest thing I've ever said"
Peter said nothing, only smiled and lifted her chin before kissing her softly.
Holly smiled into the kiss and ran a hand through his hair. Soon, their kiss became much deeper, neither wanting to stop.
Holly, positioned herself, straddling his lap.
"Hmm.." Peter moaned softly "If you do that, you might give me ideas"
He kissed along her neck.
"Maybe I want to give you ideas," she sighed.
Quill stopped, he became more serious.
"Don't feel like you have to," he said looking into her eyes, "I'm being serious when I say we don't have to do anything if you don't want"
"I never said I don't want to," Holly answered, pressing her forehead against his "I just don't want it to be the only time"
Quill smiled before, kissing her again. He stood and hoisted her up, Holly instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her to his bedroom.
*
"I don't think I've had this much fun on a date ever," Holly laughed slightly as she snuggled up to Peter.
"Glad I exceeded your expectations," he laughed, pulling her closer.
"I mean, there was the time some guy in my class took me to the state fair in highschool," Holly teased "but this was way better!"
She ran a finger over a scar on his chest she'd noticed during their swim. "What's the scar from?" she asked curiously "Some epic space battle I assume?"
"Sadly no," Peter smirked slightly "Let's just say, don't ever let a girl try to remove your 'thorax'"
"Such a hit with the ladies" she teased.
Peter chuckled softly, he ran a hand down her side, noticing the tattoo that took up most of her side.
"I never asked you about this tattoo," he said as he softly traced one of the leaves on it, she flinched and giggled.
"Don't do that!" she laughed "I'm stupidly ticklish"
A childish grin came over Peter's face.
"You shouldn't have told me that," he said before tickling her again.
"Stop! Ok! Ok!" Holly laughed as she tried squirming away "I'll tell you about my tattoo if you stop!"
Quill stopped and waited intently.
"Ok, so..I should explain a little," Holly said as she caught her breath. "My dad is a botanist, mom is an environmental lawyer, they sort of had a theme when naming me and my sisters. I got that tattoo about a year ago, there's Holly obviously....and Ivy...for my middle sister...and Sage...for my oldest sister" She explained pointing out each plant, the three plants interwoven together down her right side.
"I got it," she said with a hint of sadness "when I really accepted they were gone, as a way to honor them. They haven't even seen it yet"
Peter was silent, he kissed her forehead softly.
"I'm sorry you went through all that," he said warmly "You seem really close to your family"
"We are," Holly nodded "Ivy and I don't always agree, and everyone treats me like I'm the baby...but I love them all."
"You could be my baby," he grinned, pulling her on top of him again. Holly laughed and kissed him.
"So, what's next?" she asked.
"Well, sleep might be nice.." Peter began, he glanced at a small clock on the nightstand "Unless you want another round before that"
He pulled her close and raised his eyebrows suggestively.
"We could..." Holly rolled her eyes "But I mean...should I expect a call after all this or.."
"Or is it a one-night stand?" Peter smirked, "I'll be honest with you sweets, I'm not sure how long I'll be staying on earth"
He pushed a strand of hair behind her ear before continuing.
"I don't have a lot of good memories here and would like to make some before I leave, and that means spending more time with you"
"Really?" Holly smiled slightly, much as she wanted to be skeptical, there was something in his tone and in his eyes that said he was being truthful.
"Yeah," Peter laughed softly "I don't think I've ever met a girl who took me out, re-enacted a scene from Purple Rain and debated Wings with me in just over a week"
*
"Sitting in the stands of the sports arena,
Waiting for the show to begin.."
Holly stretched as she woke up, from the small kitchen she could hear Peter singing along to one of her favorite albums, she smiled and yawned before putting on his Xandar tshirt and making her way into the main area of his apartment. She saw him standing at the counter, wearing brown pants and a tight blue shirt and pouring 2 cups of coffee. She couldn't deny, she loved the form fitting shirts he seemed to wear regularly.
He didn't hear her enter as he continued singing along as the record changed pace.
"Could be, oo-ee"
Holly joined in.
"Hey! There you are," he smiled warmly. "Thought you might want a coffee"
"I see you took my advice on the best Wings album," she grinned as she took the coffee cup he offered her.
"A cute girl who likes the same music as me and could probably kick my ass on roller skates tells me what album is best," He smirked "I'm going to listen"
She gave him a small kiss on the cheek before taking a drink of her coffee.
"I'm just surprised," she admitted "I've gotten so much shit in the past for liking Wings"
"By who?" Quill demanded. Holly shrugged.
"I've lost track," she laughed "but pretty much every guy I've ever dated"
"Ah, they must've been good in bed if you put up with that" he smirked as he sipped his coffee. Holly nearly spat her own coffee out in shock before responding.
"Nah, not nearly as good as you," she retorted, she felt satisfied as he looked away for a moment bashfully. "I'm just overly tolerant, or I was" she winked.
There was a knock at the door.
"Peter?" a woman's voice with a thick Polish accent called "I made extra potato pancakes and strawberry pierogies."
"Shit!" Holly said quietly "I'm not wearing anything but your shirt!"
"Relax," Peter laughed as he made his way to the door, stopping at the dryer. He tossed Holly's pants to her. "Just duck into my room and get dressed quick"
"Morning Mrs Wisniewski," Peter greeted warmly as he opened the door.
"Ah Good morning, Peter," the elderly woman said "I hope I didn't wake you, I thought you might like breakfast"
"I'm not going to turn down your cooking," he smiled.
"Such a charming young man," Mrs Wisniewski said, handing him the plate of food. "Oh, I'm sorry...I interrupted your company"
Mrs Wisniewski seemed embarrassed as Holly stepped into the main room of the apartment.
"It's alright," Peter said dismissing her concerns "We were actually just sitting down to some breakfast"
He put an arm around Holly as she stood at his side.
"Peter, you have a new lady friend in your life," Mrs Wisniewski beamed happily "I'm Mrs. Wisniewski, but you can call me Maja"
"Nice to meet you," Holly smiled "Holly Stuart, you can call me Holly"
Peter chuckled softly. Holly's phone started ringing, interrupting the conversation.
"Sorry, I should get that," Holly said, excusing herself.
"She is better than the girl you were seeing before," Mrs. Wisniewski said quietly to Quill.
"That was a mistake," he said running a hand through his hair embarrassedly, "We're just seeing where this-"
"You listen to me Peter Quill," the old woman said sternly "You keep this one, I can tell with people. I know you are a handsome man, women must love you...but you keep this one, trust me"
"Yeah, alright.." Peter laughed. "I'll talk to you soon, Mrs Wisniewski"
"Alright, dog breath," Holly laughed "I'll see you soon"
She ended her call as Peter sat across a small table from her.
"Sorry about that," Holly smiled as Peter passed her some of the food his landlady had brought.
"That was my sister, Ivy," she explained "I sort of forgot I was supposed to meet her for coffee"
"I'd say 'sorry I kept you'," he smirked "But I'd be lying"
"I'm not complaining!" Holly laughed "Anytime you want to distract me, I'm more than happy to be distracted"
"That said," she continued "I do have to head out after breakfast, any way I could convince you to drop me off at a coffee shop not far from here?"
"I guess I could," Peter sighed heavily, pretending to be annoyed "On one condition"
"And what would that be?" she cocked her head.
"That you'll go out with me again, next week" he winked.
Holly smiled, she stood up and made her way the short distance to Peter before sitting in his lap. His arms went around her instantly.
"I might be game for that," she said before kissing him. "And I'm keeping your shirt, as collateral"
===========================================================
A/N: Like I said, this is kind of a love story to where I'm from (I actually went clubbing at First Ave frequently...and my friends and I were there on a night that Prince was actually just hanging out in the upper level with his entourage) and it's a slow burner...but it'll be worth it I think! I'm excited to get onto the chapters that take place during Vol 3...but it'll be a little bit yet! Thank you for reading, commenting, etc!
